Itunes 10.4 and outlook 2010
My iphone 4 is connected to itunes 10.4 but when I select the "info" tab I am not able to sync Calendars or mail accounts as Outlook 2010 doesn't appear to be talking to itunes or vice versa.
Any ideas please.
Hello, Ran12345.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It is still possible to sync contacts and calendars from Outlook using iTunes. If you are experiencing issues with this, here is the best article to go through.

Sync my iCal in between iPhone and Outlook 2010 on Win7
Hi,
I have an iPhone4 running iOS5.1.1 (as of today) and an iCloud account.
My iPhone calendar (iCal) is synched with iCloud calendar.
My business PC is running Win7 and Outlook 2010.
My compagny has selected Google Enterprise to provide all the mail services.
As such, I have a Google deamon running on my PC to sync my emails in between Google GMail Enterprise and Outlook 2010.
Please notice, that, due to security rules, I can not symply enter my Gmail Google Enterprise IDs on my iPhone to get it synched with GMail...
As such, to get at least my professional calendar on my iPhone iCal, I was using a cable connexion in between the PC USB port and the iPhone, and running iTunes sync.
I though it was paintfull, and I though iCloud was able to do so.
As such, I installed iCloud Dashboard and my PC and started to configure it to sync my Outlook 2010 calendar (at least) with iCloud.
I successfully entered my iCloud AppleID, and arrived on the configuration of the sync.
Despite all the tests I run (connected from the office or from home), I not able to get it working as I am always getting an error message from iCloud dashboard:
"Your configuration can not start as an unexpected event"
Any clue on what's going on?
Any idea on what I can test more?
Best Regards
Arnoyes they were set to the same timezone - which puzzled me a lot...
I lost a lot of sleep, but I can now say that I have solved the problem...
What I did was, that I un-installed microsoft office (desperate I know!) - then ran a sync with the iPhone choosing to overwrite the Calendar in the phone - as there was no calendar present - it deleted what was on the phone. Then I re-installed Microsoft office, by doing that, I didn't loose anything because the user files was still present including mail setting etc. - resynced the iPhone - and now it works...
Just can't figure out what went wrong in the first place...
thank you for your answer -
I use Win 7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my Contacts and Calendar. They have stopped syncing...mostly.
Now, appointments I enter on my local Outlook (iCloud) Calendar goes up to iCloud fine. But, data I enter on iCloud directly does not come down to my local Outlook iCloud Calendar. If I reboot the computer, the iCloud data shows up.
Also, Contacts I try to enter on my Outlook (iCloud) Contacts goes up to iCloud fine, but does not show up in my local iCloud Contacts.
All syncing works with my iPhone.
I have signed out of iCloud on PC. I have stopped syncing and re-started. No change.
I have an .aplzod folder for iCloud. I have a separate Earthlink.net.pst email account in Outlook and a me.com.pst Outlook email account (which I don't actually use) listed under Data Files.
Any help would be appreciated. Curious that Outlook will upload to iCloud but not receive downloads unless I reboot. However, rebooting does not download the missing Contacts.
Jim RobbinsHi Jim!
You've started off with some good troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can take this a little further and figure out what the issue is with your iCloud contacts and calendars. I have two articles here that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further, but the troubleshooting steps for both articles are exactly the same, so I will lay those out for you here:
Note: When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
If you are having trouble with a PC (with Outlook 2007 or 2010) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration that is supported by iCloud. For more information, see iCloud system requirements.
When enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook ".pst" file to iCloud, and then remove the Calendars from the ".pst" file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Be sure you are looking for your data within the iCloud dataset within Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data; iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if the ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel pane. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Completely close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not moving to your other devices or vice-versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
Close Outlook.
Open the Windows Control Panel:
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark, and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Ensure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook.
Outlook 2010:
Open Outlook 2010.
Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active
Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For additional information about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook, see this Microsoft support document.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

I have recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and Outlook 2010 which I use for email, contacts and calander. I have managed by a miracle using bluetooth to synch between my Tungsten E2 and Palm desktop and know that there are no tools, as yet, to synch between my E2 and Outlook 2010. Would it work as a two stage process i.e.
1. synch desktop and outlook
2. synch desktop and E2.
If so how do I do step one?
Thanks
Pepper
Post relates to: Tungsten E2In PD 6.2.2 there is a PIM conduit switcher. Have you tried this?
Another option I can think to try is to export your data in a format compatible with Outlook, .csv or .tab and then import into Outlook.
Chapura makes a program called pocket copy. It is a one time transfer of your data from PD to Outlook.
They have a program called Pocket Mirror but is only compatible with 32 bit versions.
Here is a link to their site.

I purchased a new Windows 8 PC and I use Outlook 2010 for my calendar. With my old Windows 7 PC and Outlook 2010, my calendar would sync with my Iphone 5, but with the new Windows 8 PC and Outlook 2010, it does not, and I can't figure out how to snyc them. The emails from Outlook 2010 sync, but the calendar does not. Help! Thanks.
Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness. On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud. If your Calendar selection is turned off, turn it on. Your info should restore. If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off. Choose to save calendars when asked. After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on. Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this. Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

I installed iCloud on my iPhone 4S and PC running Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. My calendar is not syncing when I put in new information. Solutions?
I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail. That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine. Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook. I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

Is there any help?To check if there could be some problems with your calendar database try to create a new calendar in MS Outlook. Add a test meeting and then point the calendar sync in PC Companion to the newly created calendar folder in MS Outlook. Now try to sync and check if it still fails. If it works, there is probably something wrong with your default calendar folder in MS Outlook.

Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010 Offline Address Book Download
Hi All,
Strange problem that I can't seem to get to the bottom of.
On a couple of users, about 10/100, can't seem to download the Offline Address Book. When they do a manual Download Address Book through Send/Receive Group, the progress window will remain at about 5% and the status will show "Copying Offline Address Book
Template File". If I leave the window, it will be the same for a couple of hours without erroring out.
We have a casarray set up, forced the ports to 59595 and 59596 for the address book as mentioned the guide. We are not doing SSL redirect on the Virtual Directory. Test-AutoConfiguration from Outlook returns the correct entries. Works for most users but
not all.
On the users that do not work, I've tried deleting the users profile, deleting the Outlook Directory under AppData. Sometimes, magically (for a lack of a better word), if I check the Offline Address Book Directory a few days later, there are files there.
If I then do a manual Download, same thing, the progress bar will be stuck.
Puzzling as I'm not quite sure what else to check.
All clients are on Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave KI also used your recipe --disconnect the wireless mouse-- and the OAB update worked right away.
(It is not a Microsoft mouse. )
Thanks for the information.
I have been trying to find information on non-HID.
If you have any quick tips or a pointer to info about this, I wanted to get a better understanding of this topic.
Does this "wireless" for the mouse use the same "wireless" for the laptop regular network access via WiFi ?
(We had some evidence that when the laptop did not use the wireless mouse the OAB worked OK and/or when the laptop was running only on WiFi the OAB worked OK. Not sure if this is all the same root cause.)
Also, does anyone know if this is something that Microsoft will fix at some point ?
We are trying to determine if "few or many" people here might be having OAB failures and have not reported it.
Thanks again.

Exchange 2007 and outlook 2010 frequent disconnects
Hi,
Im having issues on SBS 2008 with exchange 2007 and outlook 2010.
Every so often users disconnect and outlook then requires them to put there password in but if you restart outlook all is fine till the next time its random aswell.
I have checked in IIS if windows and basic authentication are enabled which they are.
If i dont use outlook anywhere i still get this problem.
I have looked on the internet but everything i try doesnt seem to help me any ideas ?
ThanksHi,
Before going further, would you please let me confirm whether all users (with all Outlook) encounter this same
issue? Did you install any update or any third-party application on the server before this issue occurred?

Hi all,
Would you know whether there is an incompatibility between iPad2 and outlook 2010 calendar? I can sync outlook appointmens down to the device but not up to the computer calendar. The same occurs with my iPhone 4, can sync appointments down to the device, but not back up to the computer. Any help appreciated! Most computer's USB ports do not have enough power to charge iPads while they are active. An iPad will charge while in sleep mode, but very slowly.

Hello guys,
After disabeling and enabeling the option automatic sync iPods, iPhones and iPad in iTunes (settings > devices), my iPhone 4 is only syncing manually and not automatically as before the option change.
With manually sync I mean connecting the usb cable and pushing the synchronisation button in iTunes. I reinstalled Outlook (Office 2010 32bit) and iTunes but it did not solve the problem and it's still only manually syncing. I also renewed the Windows Profile. Is there an option I missed in iTunes or Outlook? In Outlook is the iTunes Outlook Addin present and enabled....
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks, WilliamHi, could you specify what you did. It appears that nothing on my iPhone syncs any more. I have an iMac and iPhone 4 running the latest system updates. Thanks!

I just recently tried to sync with my desktop using Itunes and once they were synced I cleaned up alot of the contacts using outlook but when I tried to sync them not all the information from outlook made it to my iphone. Additionally, there are a lot of contacts in my iphone that are not showing up in outlook. I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
So after looking a bit closer i have noticed that when i have the phone plugged into the computer it shows the songs but when i dont have it plugged in and i go so the song icon on the bottom of the music menu screen it says i have no songs!

No option to select Outlook for syncing - 64bit Win7 and Outlook 2010
The option to sync with Outlook is not there ! It's there on my XP 32 bit machine but not my new 64bit Win7 laptop with 64bit Outlook installed. Is thsi a compatibility issue ?
After 2 days of trying everything I uninstalled 64bit version of Outlook 2010 and installed the 32bit version and iTunes now works properly !

Contacts missing from iphone and outlook 2010
I have an IPhone 5c running 7.1.2 version and I sync it between my outlook 2010 contacts. I use Windows 8.1 and both my iPhone and laptop use my home wifi. I can add in new contacts to my iPhone and or laptop and they sync fine. Then a few days later the contact is gone. I can tell because when I start to email someone from my iPhone and type in their name the missing contact will come up with the circled I (more info) and ask me if I want to add it as a new contact. This is very frustrating, I have over 800 contacts all related to business and random contacts just go away. I have turned off icloud sync, turned it back on, refreshed it and nothing works. when it disappears it takes it off of my laptop too...
I did set all my email contacts to be on the phone, and checked the iCloud. Re-synced the phone with itunes on my macbook. I have turned the phone off and left it turned off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on.
The contacts I am seeking are still missing.
One in particular I know had no email address associated with it.
I'm about ready to quit my iphone.
