Itunes 10.4 & G15 keyboard

When i upgraded to 10.4 on Itunes the media buttons on my G15 stopped working from the background any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem.
Updated to iTunes 10.4.0.80 from previous release version, and my Logitech G15 (Version 2) media keys (play/pause, stop, forward, backward) all stopped working when iTunes is in the background. They still work when iTunes is in the foreground. Volume keys still work to adjust system volume as expected.
I was not using any plugins to make the media keys function from the background in iTunes before, so the failure is not due to a broken plugin. Running iTunes as administrator had no effect.
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit running on a home-built PC. UAC enabled. Aero desktop turned on.

I am trying to find out how to control Itunes 10 with my G15 keyboard while Itunes is in the background. It used to work in previous versions but has since stopped responding unless it is in the foreground

there is a .dll you can download that will make it work, but after 15 mins, it stops working. Used to work fine with older versions of itunes, so it's not the windows update.

Is anyone having issues Using a g15 Keyboard while Runing itunes in the background? I used to be able to play WOW and pause or fast forword the Songs, Now if i fast forword it skips songs and pause has to be held down to work, I reinstalled My g15 software and contacted Logitech, they say it's a itunes issue and it only has started since the new patch Windows media player works Fine.

Navigating the song list in iTunes - sleeting songs with keyboard

Hi,
i try to manually organize my itunes library and therefore want to select multiple songs in list view.
I know i can command+click in the list to select multiple songs (list entries) but i try to do it with the keyboard.
I can navigate the list using up and down cursor keys and it is possible to select some songs using the shift key (some songs in a row).
But how can i go through the list and just select some songs out of the list i am scrolling through?
I am searching for something like ctrl+space on windows when navigating trough lists using the cursor keys ...

Controlling more aspects of iTunes from an iMac keyboard...

Hi All,
I've recently switched to using AirPlay to control my home stereo with a Marantz AV7005 pre-amp, and using an Airport Express in my bedroom. I used to use Squeezeboxes, but really like the way that AirPlay works, and love the remote app on my iDevices...
Question: So from my iMac keyboard, can I control more then just previous track, play, and next track if I don't go into iTunes? I'd love to be able to control the remote volume, for example, without first going into iTunes to do it...
Any guide to this? I found the Apple page that shows shortcuts to controlling iTunes when you have it as the currently selected app, but my question is a bit different from that.

It would help to know the exact computer you have. For instance, on my MacBook Pro, the keyboard offers function keys that perform some of the basic iTunes controls. Depending on your computer and keyboard, you may or may not have something similar.
I think there a few third-party apps out there that will also do this. I believe I used to have iControl, which worked fine. (I no longer need it with the new MacBook.) You might also find this helpful: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20021121043446531

ITunes with Microsoft Media Keyboard

I have a Microsoft Media Keyboard, when I press the "next track" or "previous track" media keys, Itunes skips two tracks instead of one - this doesn't happen with other media players. It works correctly if I click on the Itunes player buttons or use the left and right cursor keys. Any suggestions please on how to get Itunes to skip just one track at a time? There are no options in the keyboard's settings or in the Itunes options to do this.

Pausing ITunes Playback Using The Keyboard

Friends,
When playing a song in ITunes, I can stop playback by moving the mouse over the pause button in the top left-hand corner of the ITunes window, and left-clicking. How can I accomplish this same action using the keyboard?

Looks like hitting the space bar actuates the play / pause button in ITunes.

ITunes quits when using keyboard

I have an issue with iTunes with just one of my computers. Every time I use the keyboard iTunes shuts down. I realize there must be some sort of conflict going on but I don't know how to diagnosis or correct. I have removed and re-installed iTunes many times to no avail.

Because you are having unexpected quits and there is a chance the keyboard file is corrupt. It's a troubleshooting step. If it doesn't make a difference, well then you can rule out the keyboard as the source of the problem.
If that doesn't solve the problem, try disabling the keyboard shortcuts listed in the Keyboard and Mouse System Preferences pane.

Unusual problem: crashes repeatedly in itunes after latest ?keyboard update

Not wanting to divulge my sleep pattern too much( ),
I go to sleep at night by leaving the computer on, unplugging it and turning on itunes and the visualiser and letting it play a song on repeat. The computer is in full screen mode and it used just turn itself off when it ran out of juice.
Recently. since the last update, it crashes about 5 mins into this - the visualiser crashes, and the music hangs, playing the same chord dum dum dum dum dum dum dum.
The computer is totally frozen and the only shutdown option is keeping finger on the power button.
I went into settings and fiddled around with the power management settings to no avail.
Is there anything I can do?

I did do a search first, and did not see anything current on Mavericks, except for some launch issues. The vast majority were on Windows boxes and did not appear applciable.
I don't consider this a launch issue because sometimes iTunes will run for hours and then crash. I am going to experiment with turning off auto-refresh of podcasts and see if that gives any clues.

ITunes 10.4 & Multimedia Keyboard

Since I installed iTunes 10.4 for Windows (Windows 7, x64), I can no longer use my Multimedia Keys for Play/Pause and so on.
I have a Logitech Illuminated and tried all the usual tricks like mmkeys.dll, but nothing worked.

I have several physically challenged Dragon Dictate (MAC) and Dragon Naturally Speaking (PC) users asking for custom Dragon commands which will allow them to control iTunes by voice.
Has anyone created Dragon macros for iTunes? Does anyone have a list of keystroke commands for iTunes?

Itunes 7.1 not working with my keyboard

I have a G15 keyboard and when I push play when it is minimized it will not play I have to hold the button down to let it play and when i let go it stops, same goes for when i try and press stop. Does anyone else have the problem and if so did you fix it?

Heh, I'm having the same problem with my Gateway MX6958 notebook... I press Fn+Mute (Home Key) and it it muted as I hold it down, but as soon as I let go, it is unmuted. Quitting out of iTunes makes my mute key functional.
I've tried everything and can't fix it... it's just a matter of time, waiting for the new version of iTunes w/ a bug fix.

Controlling iTunes with Media Display of Logitech G15/G19 impossible

I own a Logitech G19 keyboard. But the Media Display won't be able to neither show nor controll things from iTunes. The display works perfectly with the Windows Media Player but doesn't even "exist" when iTunes is running.
I remember that this problem first occured after I updated iTunes. Unfortunately, I don't remember from witch version to which. At this time, I still had the G15. The change from G15 to G19 didn't make a change at the problem.
Now, the question is, why is that so? Do I have to change something in iTunes?
What shall I do?

I have the same problem on my G15 since updating to the latest version of iTunes (8.2). Previously I had full control of iTunes functions on the keyboard/LCD. Now, sometimes the buttons to pause/play/next track work, sometimes they don't. The LCD no longer displays iTunes at all, it's no longer listed as being a program in my G15 settings and I can't find anything in iTunes itself to make it come back.
So far this only applies to the WinXP Pro side of my iMac, I haven't hit up the Mac side in a while and therefore haven't updated iTunes over there.
I checked logitech updates but there are none.
So...what did apple do in this version?
Can we get some assistance?

Logitech G15 support of itunes

i have a g15 keyboard and it used to work fine with itunes until the last update which screwed everything up... if i have itunes window active meaning that im using itunes my keyboard works perfectly fine with the program buy as soon as i open a different window or program it doesn't really work anymore. if i try to mute or pause it i have to hold the button down for it to stay like that. Also when i try to switch songs it will jump 2 songs at a time. Before the patch everything work perflectly fine. Can anyone help me?

no i haven't yet but i will do that when i get home. I just talked to one of my friends who has the G11 keyboard which is the same thing just doesn't have the LCD screen and he says it doesn't even work with itunes so whatever apple did is not nice
