Itunes 10.4 invalid licence

Hi just bought an iphone 4 fitted the sim card entered the pin then told to connect to itunes. Itunes is an older version prompted to download 10.1 or newer for the phone ok so search for updates and down load 10.4 but windows 7 and norton 360 say its an invalid licence and wont let me use it so stuck with an iphone at the min thats good for emergancy calls only.

Well, I`ve got a working solution by myself. "Thank you", tech support!
For those who got the same problem:
I`ve just
1. Have deleted all the iTunes preferences files on my mac
(~/Library/Preferences/ all files includes *itunes*, and the same in /Library/Prefereces/)
2. Have installed iTunes over existing (OS X Lion dowsn`t allow me to delete the iTunes app )
3. Have deleted the old iTunes library files (use to be in ~/Muaic/iTunes Library/ or as for me - ~/Music/iTunesLib/) and it generated the new one.

Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.

    Hi curliejo,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
In your situation I would recommend the steps in the following article for troubleshooting iTunes. It may be necessary to completely remove and reinstall iTunes in this situation. Be sure to remove all of the components with iTunes in the correct order as outlined in the article before installing fresh.

  • When I try to update to Itunes 11 I get an error message saying that Itunes has an invalid signature and wont be installed. I use Windows 7.

Everytime I try to update to Itunes 11 I get an error message saying that Itunes has an invalid signature and can't be installed?  I have tried to install it two times and get the same message each time. Any solutions to my problem?? Those who have installed ITUNES 11 is it hard to work with? maybe im lucky it wont update?? I don't know.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Go directly to Apple link to download

Select "Save" instead of "Run".  Once downloaded, double click the iTunesetup.exe to install.

You can try manually updating by uninstalling the current version you have and going to http://apple.com/itunes/download

I am assuming you are having difficulties installing the latest version of iTunes. Are you using a Windows PC or a Macintosh? Which version of Windows or OS X are you using?

  • Error "itunes has an invalid signature". Will not install. Why?

Every time I try to update iTunes on my desktop computer I keep getting the same error message "iTunes has an invalid signature. Will not install. Why am I getting this message? and how can I fix it.
ITunes came with the new HP I purchased in 12/2013. I have had a problem only with updates. I thought about uninstalling on my desktop but do not want to lose my songs. Was hoping to find a better solution than uninstalling and then re-installing.
    Any how would be appreciated.

The error suggests some sort of corruption with the file you downloaded. Clear your browser's cache and download a fresh copy of the iTunes setup file.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
