Itunes 10.4 Windows 7 x64 Ipod touch does not restore

Itunes 10.4 erased all data on my Ipod touch on my brand new Gateway Windows 7 laptop. But, it does not want to restore. It stops at the the final restore step. Error code 6 from Itunes. Brand new machine, fresh install of Itunes 10.4 from Apple site. No problem with internet connection or any other USB devices connected. Tried all Apple online solutions , including disabling my firewall. Nothing seems to work. Giving up on my Itouch and Apple. Time to move on.

To fix this issue for yourself in iTunes 10.6.1.7 open <Program Files>\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\fr.lproj\Localizable.strings in a suitable text editor such as Notepad++ and replace dévut with début in line 8543 so

When i connected my itouch in the computer to charge it, it said that it needed to be restored and when I try to restore it, it says extracting software and after that it says verifying restoring.. and then the unknown error 3014 occurred message pops up. I have tried all the other options itunes has provided but nothing seems to be working.. Please help, I got the itouch as a present a week ago and I would really like if it would start working again.

i had this problem after updating the software and the only way i could get the iPod to work was to plug into a different computer and let it update the software to version 2.2.
before i did that it seemed like during the version 3 updated the software had been erased from the iPod because when I turned it on nothing would happen.

Start here. Is ti normal and expected for the computer to also see the iPod as a comera since that is how you get saved photos from the iPod to the computer.

Make sure you are entering the events on your iPod in the iCloud calendar and not something else such as On My iPod. Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) to be sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods." Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I’ve tried two different Apple cables.
I’ve tried different USB ports on the computer.
I have rebooted both the Mac and the iPod.
I’ve wiggled the cables and checked for dust in the connectors.
The iPod charges using this same cable connected to wall wart. That’s a good sign.
Both the Mac and iPod seem to work fine separate from each other. They just won’t talk anymore.

I found this possible solution on another support thread, so I tried it.
turn off iPod
hold Sleep and Home buttons to start it.
When Apple appears, let go of Sleep button, but keep holding Home button.
When screen goes blank, let go of Home button.
Connect cable and check iTunes to see if it has conencted.
This did not work for me.
I then turned off the iPod, restarted the Mac, and restarted the iPod normally.
I connected them with the cable, and it works like normal. :-)
