ITunes 10.5.1 and Traktor Scratch Pro Library recognition issues

I'm using Traktor Scratch Pro (TSP, not TSP2) and it won't show my itunes playlists (using itunes 10.5.1)...anybody know how to fix this?

I ran Repair Permissions on my MBP hard drive and this corrected the problem.  My iPhone now syncs perfectly with iTunes. I was about to, at the suggestion of Apple Support, remove iTunes and reinstall the program.  But I thought I would try the old "standby" Apple cure (Repair Permissions) first.  And it worked!! Hope this helps others with similar problems.
And, oh, BTW, if your iPhone 3GS battery dies, try charging it up with the AC adapter firstI think this whole problem started when I plugged in my dead iPhone into my MBP with iTunes running and iTunes, and/or the Mac didn't like it.  FYI.

  • I want to download itunes to my laptop and have the same library i have on my main computer at home. How can I do this?

I have a laptop which I use away from home and would like to download itunes so if i download something on my laptop, i can transfer it to my iPad straight away without having to transfer the music to my main computer. How can i have my library on my laptop itunes like i have on my main computer? is this a possibility?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Audition 3.01 and M-Audio Pro-Fire 610 Issue

I have both installed on my laptop.  The system has a conexant sound card.  The Pro-Fire is connected via firewire.  I go into sound and set the Pro-fire as the default for recording.  Audition DOES recognize the Pro-Fire...but will not let sound out of the program.  Seems that it wants to output sound to the Pro-fire and gives me NO other choice.  I wanted to leave the system soundcard as the default playback device...but Audition will not give me any choices other than one of the ten output devices.  How can I leave the Pro-fire as input and the default system sound device as output?
    Has anyone had this problem???
    Happy Holidays
    Bob

Thank You for the reply.  The program is actually for my son, who is a music major in college...and he has been using my
Cool Edit Pro 1.2 forever.  He uses it with no issues with the ProFire.  Over the holidays, I upgraded his hard
drive to 500 gb on his laptop and installed Windows 7.  All has been perfect up to the point of installing Adobe Audition
3.01.  Then everything started going wrong.  There is a setting where the ProFire is a choice in Audition of Audition
Windows 3.0 sound.  Then in custom, I can choose the ProFire as the input...and still have his laptop speakers
as the default.  That worked ONCE, then Audition bluescreened Windows 7 and I have had to uninstall and reinstall
the Profire to get it working again...and do a repair to Audition.  Meanwhile...I installed my Cool Edit Pro 1.2a and tried
it and it worked right out of the box.  So my best solution is to give him my cool edit pro and go to Adobe and get a
refund on his Student purchase of Audition 3.  As long as he is getting out of my old 7 year old version...he can have it.
I have not had it installed on my system on over 5 years.  Audition is way too much of a pain to keep dealing with.  ASIO
is a joke.  He has a Conxenant sound card in his HP laptop.  He uses the Profire as a mixer to input a mic, guitars and
keyboard.  I thought the new Audition would be leagues ahead of CEP...not so .  CEP kills Audition and what it is able
    to do, for his needs...
    Happy Holidays...and Thank you again...

  • I installed itunes 9.0.2 and it erased my library

I installed the new itunes on my laptop and it worked fine. I tried to the same with my other computer and it didnt...I could not find the place to upgrade on my conputer so I wen to apple.com and downloaded form there. After half an hour it finally finished and i discovered that all my music is gone. I cannot find and I want it back. I donot want to have someone come in and restore my computer...therefore I need to know how to fix it now. Music on itunes cost enough and I will not pay to get my music back when itunes is the one who made it dissapear to begin with. What do I do?

Where is your backup? You should ALWAYS maintain a backup.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup (terrible idea), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:
    File>Transfer Purchases
It is YOUR responsibility to backup your music/pics/docs/etc.

  • Windows 8 pro and 8.1 pro WiFi connection issues

I hope to start a meaningful dialogue with Microsoft about the WiFi issues that Windows 8 and 8.1 have.
I've been deploying Windows 8 and 8.1 since the Surface Pro was released.  Since then we've deployed about 50-75 Surface Pro, Surface Pro 2, Dell Latitude 7000 series, Lenovo Yoga 13 IdeaPad and Lenovo Yoga Thinkpad devices.  Some have Windows
8 pro, some have been upgraded to 8.1 Pro, and some were purchased with native 8.1 Pro builds on them.  All of these devices have difficulty with wireless in one form or another.  We were able to reduce some of the problems (not eliminate) on our
corporate LAN over the last year by turning off Windows' ability to turn off the wireless adapter to save power, or turning off some of the offload or chimney or other advanced capabilities of the adapters.  Problems were still present, but less so.
Many of our users were able to be on the wired LAN, so the issues were somewhat glossed over.
We were finally able to fix our Wireless LAN issue (we believe everything is working as expected after 2 weeks of testing and observation) by updating the controller and AP firmware for our Aruba wireless infrastructure (we have one controller and 11 ap's
across 5 well connected sites).  This is great- sort of...
The problem is that while it's now very obvious that in our case, updating the firmware on our corporate WiFi is able to get the various 8 and 8.1 devices working on our LAN, this is not a true fix as it does not address our mobile and wireless capabilities
    while:
    1. traveling
    2. working at a partner's or customer's location and connecting to their WiFi
    3. Working from Home
    4. Etc.
We obviously can't update everyone's AP/wireless router firmware.  The solution, by necessity, must reside on the Windows 8/8.1 machine and it's inability to reliably connect and stay connected to existing Wifi networks.   I want
to know the current state and thinking that Microsoft has regarding this persistent issue (searching for "Windows 8.1 wifi" in the "Windows 8.1 IT pro" forums on TechNet returned 4000+ results).  Ignoring or not addressing this
problem head on is a huge mistake.  Let us know the root cause (SOMETHING has changed in the Network/IP stack) and a solution to work around the cause.
I'll conclude like this: I KNOW that some Wifi issues can be resolved with firmware updates to WiFi routers/APs.  I KNOW that some WiFi issues can be resolved with driver updates or, in some cases, downgrades.  I KNOW some Wifi issues can be resolved
by uninstalling Intel ProSET, or getting manufacturer direct drivers.  I KNOW some issues can be resolved by turning off Windows' ability to turn off the adapter when "not in use" to save power.  I KNOW some owner's of Windows 8/8.1
machines have downgraded to Windows 7 or XP or abandoned Microsoft altogether and move to Linux or Mac.  The ONLY common problem across all of these solutions, is Windows 8/8.1.  Therein MUST lie the ultimate answer.

    THIS.
I have been going through the same efforts as DLovitt with no joy.  I have ruled out all variables which leads directly to something with Win 8/8.1 being the problem.  Very frustrating that I cannot find a fix anywhere.

  • I had itunes on my computer and items in my library/account. It wouldn't recognise my iPod and ipad. I have deleted itunes and tried to download it again, but with no luck! Help

Why won't itunes download on my PC? I had it downloaded and had items in my library.  It won't recognise my iPod. So I deleted itunes and have tried 3 times to download it again, unsuccessfully. help!

same thing happened to me...i just did the following from another reply and it worked! good luck
Right-click the Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, or Apple iPod entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver from the shortcut menu.
Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. (If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.)
In the "Install from Disk" dialog, click the Browse button.
Use this window to navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog.
Click Next and finish the driver-installation steps. Open iTunes to verify that the device is recognized properly.

  • Premiere Pro CC and BMD Intensity Pro Video Preview issues

I know there are many people having issues and confusion surrounding video preview file formats. For the most part, I have not had major problems, except this:
I'm trying to figure out why PPro doesn't want to output video preview with certain file formats on my Intensity Pro card, specifically 720p media. See below for system specs.
For the most part, any sequence created at 1080p24 or 30 out to an HDTV (1080i and p) via HDMI plays back fine. My sequence settings will reflect the correct file format as the media within it (usually ProRes).
When I have to edit a clip that came to me as 720p24, 25, 30, etc, I drop it into a sequence, have it change the settings to match the clip, and voila, I get playback. It would choose I frame only MPEG as the video preview file format. The originating file format doesn't really matter, whether it's h.264 .mp4, or H.264 .mov, or ProRes, etc.
I've been testing this in different ways, but for the most part, as soon as I drop a 720p clip into a sequence (doesn't matter what format or res), and allow PPro to change the sequence settings to match the clip settings, I get video preview playback initially. Great! But here's the kicker, as soon as I do anything, be that I go to a different sequence that is open, click on a different window such as the source monitor, or adjust audio levels, or drop in another clip (like a custom leader I made that is ProRes 422), I immediately lose video preview. The I/O card is stuck on the last frame it was able to playback, or just black. No matter what I do, I never get the video preview back again.
If I don't allow PPro to change sequence settings to match clip settings, I don't get any playback at all.
I have created a 720p sequence, and dropped in the 720p media, which then I don't get any playback at all. I've tried to keep the video dims the same, but change the video preview dims to 1920x1080 and it won't let me.
This seems to only happen with 720p media being cross converted to 1080p for playback on a 1080p monitor. All 1080p media plays back fine, no matter what the file format is. I have tried both Blackmagic settings in the control panel (System Prefs) set to output 720p to 1080i cross conversion on and off. I still get the same behavior as described above.
    Any ideas is greatly appreciated.

Finally worked out a solution. I opened Premiere, started a dummy project, and before I imported any media, I went into Project Settings and changed the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA). Voila - now everything works as it's supposed to. Playback is buttery-smooth, and GPU-accelerated transitions render in real-time.

  • C5580 and Avery Design Pro 4.0 and Avery Design Pro 5.4 Issue

When I try to print multiple address labels nothing happens. I can print a single label fine, but if I have 4 different addresses on the project, nothing happens. The labels will print to another HP printer (Officejet 4215) just fine.
The issue came up with v4.0, so I tried v5.4, thinking it was an older software issue, with no luck
    Thoughts??

Thanks for replying. I checked permissions, they are all fine. I have read/write. The destination for encoding and image coding's location is set to same folder as the asset. I have played with different settings here and changed the path to my external hard drive and than reverted back to original setting \library\cache\dvd studio pro

  • Sound Quality changes between itunes 8.2.1 and itunes 9.1

I am using itunes and a modified Airport Express as my audio source in my Hifi Stereo system.
It is working so well that I have discarded my high end audiophile CD player.
However I found an issue with itunes consistency from version to version in audio quality.
Here is the experience I conducted:
    Using:
    - a mac mini with Snow Leopard and itunes 8.2.1 and a macbook pro with Snow Leopard and itunes 9.1.
    - Identical Wav (full res 16bit 44.1Khz) files local to each mac.
to be completely accurate the music used was:
Ben Webster Meets Oscar Peterson: T01 The Touch Of Your Lips
Diana Krall Live in Paris: T11 A Case of You
    - in both cases itunes streams to the Airport Express (same one)
-> The result is that the there is a difference in sound between the two itunes, and I would like to understand what changed or why this difference?
If I were to describe the differences I would say that itunes 8.2.1 delivers a softer sound with more medium than itunes 9.1. Itunes 9.1 would have a brighter sound with less medium than itunes 8.2.1.
(On a side note, not relevant for the problem above, but could interest some people: When I access with my mac with itunes 9.1 the itunes 8.2.1 library on the other mac, the sound quality streamed to the AE is poor compared to either itunes version used with local files. I wonder how apple streams the music from one itunes to the next but that music it altered may be compressed in this case.)
    Message was edited by: cdfr

    Chris thanks for this answer.
I did check the settings on both Macs/itunes and they are identical. Everything is disabled. The remote volume is also disabled on both.
So the sound quality difference cannot be explained by that.

  • Acrobat x Pro / Word 2010 issues

I have been using Acrobat 9 Pro for quite sometime.  I just downloaded Acrobat X Pro to try it out hoping I get better results with WORD 2010 than I did with 9.
    I am using Office 2010 32bit, Windows 7, and Acrobat X Pro.
My issues are that When I try to convert a Word 2010 report to PDF, some of the graphics and text end up missing.
I have found that the quality is better when you just go to SAVE AS > (select) PDF.
The Acrobat Ribbon button, the SAVE AS ADOBE PDF, and printing using Adobe options give less than acceptable quality.
Has anyone had the same issues and is there a resolution?  I am no reason to upgrade to "X" otherwise...

    Hi there,
Could you provide some more detail about your file(s)?  Are there any common elements between the files you've been converting to PDF via the PDFMaker Ribbon or the Adobe PDF printer that are disappearing?  Is the text that's disappearing all of a certain font?
I'd like to try to help if you could upload a sample file or provide some additional detail!
    Thanks,
    David
