ITunes 10.5.2.11 is causing my WinXP computer to crash.
iTunes updated to 10.5.2.11 and now my WinXP machine shuts itself down when iTunes is running.
If I open iTunes, it will open for a short while, then the whole machine shuts down. Help, please!
same happen to my friend's laptop it crash after synching about 39 songs...but it still running on task manager. It take about 350~ MB of RAM, and ituneshelper about 200 MB
it took loads of time to start up itunes...she's using Windows XP with 1 GB RAM, 1Ghz intel core 2 duo...
Maybe the reason was Itunes too heavy for her laptop?

I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

It sounds like you are getting an error from iTunes when you launch it. I would try the troubleshooting in this article named:

Start with troubleshooting for 3rd party plug ins section, then the rest of the article if needed:
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

Does anyone know how to fix this problem without disabling my printer. It's very frustrating. It's either I have my iPad or my printer. iTunes likes to play with the ports on my computer thereby causing a conflict with my printer drivers. Apple should fix this problem, I'm so annoyed.

Apple say that its a driver problem, but I've never had this problem before so I am not convinced. Another thread, which I can't seem to find, suggests that it is an apple problem - itunes plays with the ports on the company causing conflicts with existing drivers. I isolated the conflict to my new Samsung printer. I uninstalled the Samsung printer driver and then can successfully connect my ipad without the blue screen appearing.
It's not a windows problem. Windows is working fine. Only happens when Ipad is connected. Actually, this first happened after I installed the new version of itunes. I reget installing the new itunes version, but don't know how to reinstall the previous itunes version. -
Second gen shuffle causes computer to crash
I received a brand new second generation shuffle today and after downloading the new itunes and plugging it in it causes the computer to crash (blue screen) due to a problem with the device driver. I reinstalled itunes and still am having problems. Help!
Interestingly I had this last night. Used the shuffle, attached to my MacBook... closed the macbook, unplugged the shuffle and the macbook sprang into life (while closed). When I opened it, I had the kernel panic screen and had to power it off.
I've updated the firmware to 1.0.1 this morning, hopefully that will stop it happening again. -
Yosemite causing my computer to crash randomly
I've had Yosemite for around 2 weeks now. At first I wasn't experiencing any problems with the new operating system. Problems first arose when I had a few USB devices attached to my computer. Then about a week ago my computer (Macbook Pro Retina 15") screen randomly went black however I noticed it was still outputting power to my USB devices. I tried waking it from what I assumed to be sleep but it wouldn't wake up. I tried to restart but it wouldn't let me until I closed the screen and lifted it back up again. Over the past week I've been using third party applications such as Audacity and Vectorworks and it seemed like using these applications would cause the computer to crash. Two day's ago I experienced one of these crashes and when starting it back up again the computer would crash on the initial loading screen (Apple logo and loading bar screen). After spending 30 minutes trying to get my computer up and running again for a meeting I simply gave up. Yesterday however I was watching a movie on iTunes and my computer again went dark on me leading me to wonder if it has nothing to do with the applications I'm using but that something is causing my computer to crash after a few minutes of use (15-20 minutes). Anyone have any solutions?
Whenever I restart my computer my computer recognizes that there was a problem because it displays the window "Your computer was shut down due to a problem would you like to reopen applications" (Paraphrasing). I have not had a computer for several years and I just got a new one. My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. Thank goodness I had it all on my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN. Now my problem is that I don't know how to get the music off my Ipod Nano onto my new computer!!! I was able to get the songs that I purchased thru ITunes by just authorizing my new computer. But I have alot more music that is on my Ipod nano that I can't put into my ITunes library. In fact, I can't even get my music into a file folder on my computer!! I really need help. I don't have any copies of the music anywhere else and some of it is hard to get. How do I get my music either into ITunes or into a file folder on my new computer or even if I could get my computer to recognize my Ipod and sync all the music into windows media or something like that. Every time I connect my IPod all that happens is that it tells me if I sync the IPod that it will replace all the music from my ITunes library on to my IPod. And I am guessing that means all my music on the IPod will be erased. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thanks from the bottom of my songsters heart

They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod. -
I have downloaded itunes to my pc and converted my music library to itunes. When I hook my iphone to my computer, it says that it is syncing. However, my music libray isn't syncing to my iphone. What am I doing wrong?

my ipod touch has a usb cable picture with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo. the ipod will not connect to a computer and is unable to be turned off as there is no red power slider when the power button is pressed. what can i do to fix this?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
