ITunes 10.5.2 doesn't play music windows  64 bit

I have a brand new i7 dell laptop running windows 7 64 bit and every time I attempt to play music iTunes freezes and I have to force quit it.
I have tried a new clean install a couple of times and it still doesnt work.
any ideas?

1. First check if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.
2. If that fails, refer to following article to remove SC Info.lib file:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
3.  If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime.  START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REAPIR.

  • ITunes doesn't play music after sleeping mode.

iTunes doesn't play music. I try to start any song by remote app in iPhone from sleeping mode of mac mini.
I can see all my music library, choose any artist and any albom.
But when I try to start the music nothing is happen.
The button Play/pause doesn't work and the play-bar is not moving.
This issue have appeared after upgrade to iTunes 11 and new remote app.
After reboot iTunes everything is ok, but in a sleep mode I have the same problem.
    Please help!

okay. i solved the problem. After reading a few other posts on related topics, it appears that using either the Setup Assistant(instead of the Airport Admin program) or if you are using the new version called 'Airport Utility' to use the option to 'Assist Me'. After going through the setup in this way it worked!

Ever since I updated the operating system, itune doesn't play music on iphone 4. If it plays, it plays only one song and gets stuck. I've tried to reconnect to the computer to see whethere there has been missing portion during the upgrade... but not really. does anyone have the same issue?

    What does "gets stuck" mean?
    It repeats?
    It stops playing?
Have you tried the basics from the manual?  Restart.  Reset.  Restore.

  • Ipod nano 3rd generation doesn't play music and doesn't synchronize with itunes

I have a ipod nano 3rd generation ( 8 GB) and it suddenly stopped playing music. The ipod doesn't  play music even if I choose another song and the ipod doesn't synchronize with itunes anymore. I did a reset of the ipod and I installed itunes new but the synchronization doesn't works.

Get a flashlight and make sure there is no obstruction/dirt/debris in the Nano headphone jack. Be sure you plug the headphones all the way in, the plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the Nano.

  • Front Row doesn't play music!!!

I don't know what's going on with my Front Row, but my music and podcasts will not play on Front Row! It's weird: my movies play, my photos from iPhoto can do slideshows. It just doesn't play music. It always says: "Front Row cannot find any songs. Use iTunes to import songs or purchase songs from the iTunes Store." I just updated my iTunes, Quicktime, and all the other computer updates. Still no luck....

Yes, there are only three or four settings stored in there. The last module selected when you closed Front Row (Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, DVD, Photos, or Movies), the country your iTunes is set for (so Front Row can show the "top rated" items from the store) and whether or not you've turned on sound effects and/or the Front Row screen saver. No other preferences are stored there. All of the media-specific preferences are store in the application that controls that media (the DVD Player.app for the DVD settings, iTunes for the Music settings and iPhoto for the Photos settings).

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You can't buy the part from Creative as a spare.
I'm not sure how compatible other parts might be, but that would be a question for someone who really knows a lot about this area of electronics.
The Creative repair for this is likely to be expensi've, but the problem is most likely a broken solder connection than an actual new headphone socket. So if you know someone experienced in surface mount soldering you could probably get it repaired just with this.

  • 11.1.2 iTunes doesn't play music (sticks at 0:00), but plays video

I have recently upgraded to the latest windows 8.1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and all associated files (including the latest Quicktime).
I can play videos in iTunes. However, I cannot play music. The player shows I have selected a song, has "loaded" as before up in the top center of the window, displaying title, artist, and time progression bar. It shows at time stamp 0:00, but does not play.
I've attempted to start iTunes in safe mode, but still same problem. Music shows as 0:00 and I cannot play any track. But, I can watch a TV show or music video.
I've also noticed in the iStore, I cannot preview any music tracks before purchase either...
    So, um, help?

Okay, further troubleshooting indicates it's an issue with iTunes accessing SMB shares.
1 - Finder, Quicktime and other apps have no problem with the SMB share, mounted as guest with read/write permissions
2 - When I start a new library, with the share mounted AFP, it can add and read just fine.
3 - When I start the existing library, with the share mounted AFP, it immediately tries to mount the SMB and craps out as usual.
4 - I can start a new library with AFP and import the old XML but it will take a full day to import and I don't know what I might lose.
The XML has correct URI whether I mount SMB or AFP.  Is there a better way to just tell iTunes, using the existing library, the "/Volumes/share" is now AFP, not SMB?

  • Itunes not playing music, Vista 64-bit

    Hello Everyone,
The other day I was messing around with windows and managed to screw it all up; I completely reinstalled windows and then installed Itunes and imported all my music. When I tried to play my music it just doesn't play; the diamond at the top doesn't move, it just stays completely still. Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thank you!

I as well have been having this problem. I am running Windows Vista 32-bit though. I will try to play music and it never begins the song. If anyone has any solutions, please help me out.

  • Ipod shows 0:00 & doesn't play music

My 80gb ipod classic randomly stopped playing music the other day. Everything works fine, as it should, minus the fact the music doesn't play. It says, "Now Playing," but the time remains at 0:00. And it's not just some of the songs, but all of them. I've tried a number of times to Restore it, but that doesn't solve the problem because nothing plays. It charges, and everything in iTunes plays and transfers to the ipod, but nothing will play on the ipod.
Has anyone had this problem before and have a solution for me? I would very much appreciate it! Thank you.

Apple doesn't listen here. You can submit your comments at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html
A faster way if you really want to hear back from Apple is to make an appointment at a Genius bar in your closest Apple store and have them take a look at your iPod. When you find out what they have to say you can report back here and pass the word along.

  • I just updated to OS 4.0, and now my iPod doesn't play music

I just installed OS 4.0, and now I can't play music. If I select a track then it will take me to the "Now Playing" screen, and sometimes it will immediately bounce back to the track selection screen, sometimes it won't. But either way it won't play. If I press the play button at the bottom of the screen then a play icon momentarily appears next to the battery indicator, then immediately disappears.
Also, when I plug the iPod into my computer, iTunes gives me a "set up your iPod" screen, in which I am offered two options: "Set up as a new iPod" or "Restore from the backup of: Phil's iPod". I don't think I want to do either, do I? Will restoring from the backup revert to the old OS or what?

Huh. I phoned Apple's tech support and was told I needed to restore my iPod, which would mean losing all saved data thereon. iTunes spent ages trying to restore, before telling me that it could not do so - something about data being used by another application. However when I tried using the iPod again I found it was now able to play music. I haven't lost any of my data, and it seems to be working fine now.

  • Updated to iTunes 7 and can no longer play music off my iPod through iTunes

The title says it all. I can no longer play music from my iPod through iTunes now that I have upgraded. When I click on my iPod there is a little black lock beside where it shows the disk usage.
anyone have any ideas. I like some of the new features of this version of iTunes but it really seems to be a few steps backwards.

That little lock usually indicates that the iPod is set to autosync. In order to play iPod content through iTunes, you have to be on manual sync.

  • ITunes keeps opening by itself and playing music.

My iTunes keeps randomly opening up by itself and playing music. When it happens, I quit the app and it stops for the day, but it will happen again randomly. Like days or weeks later. I don't know why my computer has decided to start doing this recently, but it's really getting on my nerves.

Sooo annoying. And STILL not fixed.

  • TS1717 Just downloaded iTunes update.  When I try to play music window says "can't locate original"

"can't find original" when trying to play music.  just updated to iTunes 11.0.4.4  Using windows 7 professional.

    Hello, namnibob.
Thank you for the question.  This issue sounds like the media is either missing or iTunes is not directed to where your media is located.  These articles will help you locate music and download any purchased media from the purchased section of the iTunes Store that you are missing.

  • ITunes 10.5 randomly stutters when playing music

Installed iTunes 10.5 last week to get new iOS for iPhone. I have a HP Pavillion notebook running WIndows 7 and have had no problem with iTunes before at all. Now, however, when I am playing music on iTunes little electronic glitches and stutters are audible. They are random and seem to affect both mp3 and aac. Nothing else on my computer has changed aside from the itunes update. VLC media player still seems to be fine.
I see some people are having distortion issues with the new iTunes, but this is more just a little distorted stutter for half a second or so every once or twice a minute.
Can I fix this, or will I have to wait for the next update of iTunes? Any help with this would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi Denis,
I managed to fix a similar issue on Mac OS X:
"I am running 10.5.8 on an iMac 27 with a 2.66GHz i5 processor and got the same side-effects after I moved up to iTunes 10.5. Th e problem also continued when I downgraded to 10.4.1 as well, straight afterwards. However, I managed to resolve it fairly quickly in this way:
Opened the  Activity Monitor, and looked at the processes taking most resources.
The one that leapt out at the top, if ordered by % CPU, was "ShockWave Flash (Chrome Plug-in Host)".
So, I closed down Chrome and noted that it was still there. Thus, I sent a force quit to it and waited for it to die. I then re-opened iTunes and the annoying stuttering had gone. I've now got Chrome and this plug-in open and it has not returned. I suspect the issue may frequently be caused by a plug-in like this causing resource contention, but I can't say for sure as I've only seen this once.
My advice would be to close down, one by one,  as many apps as you can and constantly review activity ordered by CPU in Activity Monitor. If you think you can safely quit the process then do so and retry iTunes. If you're not sure, then gracefully shutdown and look again. Bear in mind, the problem may be launching at startup. Before shutting down, review your Login Items in System Prefs->Accounts->"My Account"->Login Items. Remove anything you can live without. You can always add them back in. If you manage to spot conflicting software then you can look for a patch or upgrade, but at least be aware that it does not play well with iTunes and thus quickly fix your issue."
May be you can follow a similar process on Windows? I would target your suspicions towards Adobe and Google components :-) !!!
    Hope this helps.
