ITunes 10.5.2 in Lion - cursor in search field, shortcuts not working
I normally use things like Cmd+A and Cmd+Delete on my songs in iTunes, however, now, all of a sudden with the new update of iTunes, all of these shortcuts are applied to the search field of iTunes...
I basically have to quit iTunes and re-start it and not touch the search field if I want to use them. There seems to be no way to exit from the search field.
I hope this is a bug, becaues if this is something they did on purpose then, wel... wow...

This was solved with updates to iTunes... clear it was a bug.
Well, it wasn't solved for me. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1 (the latest), and I've had this problem for previous versions. The search box retains focus no matter what I do (cursor continues to flash) — keyboard shortcuts for selected tracks don't work until I quit & restart. I agree that the last few versions of iTunes have been very buggy.

Thanks in advance!Did you try a hard reset with the iPod still connected to your PC? Have you tried multiple USB ports, preferably high powered USB 2.0 ports?
To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Have you also worked through each and every single troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?

I am a windows user that has converted to Mac and loving it but when I updated to Lion my wireless internet dongle would not work anymore and the Macbook Pro does not recognise the device at all so I am unable to reinstall it again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Go to Finder > Preferences then select the General tab
Make sure External disks is selected. -

The apps can only be run on an iOS device. They will not run on your PC.

does it say not installed or does it say "download" in app store purchases?
if it say's download, then it's there for future use if you need to download it again.

Itunes now requesting PW for old purchases. Current PW does not work. How to fix and gain access to songs purchased 6 years ago. Other, more recent songs all OK.
If you bought the music with another itunes account, then you will have to authorize the computer for that account.

I already wasted several hours trying to find solution for a problem which appeared with Lion, search function does not work, in mail at least.
I was not using Leopard before and I am not a mac expert.
(search function was already bad in the normal it was already bad in the normal 10.7 set up but at least it was working in mac mails).
I tried reindexing via spotlight privacy settings (adding and removing HD) but does not work much better.
I don't want to go to terminal, as as mentioned I don't know enough about mac to try this.
What to do?

I upgraded from leopard to lion and my Epson printer will not work. I get a error message comunication error. What can Ido to fix this I bought a new USB cord and it did no good.
I suddenly had the same thing happen. I've had my new iMac for 3 months and at first my Epson Artisan 50 worked okay then yesterday I started getting the same error message other people on this support site have gotten. I tried ALL the advice given (deleating the Epson files from the library folder, etc. reinstalling older software) and nothing worked. With the newest iMac (and operating system) you cannot pick and choose which version of Epson software you want. You must use the 10.8 version or it simply will not open when you've downloaded it. Finally I found the comment above by den.thed and tried the OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system suggested. As much as I hated to lose all my printing presets that took a lot of expiermentation to set up, I was desperate. I tried it and it worked. Now I just have to consult my old computer and try to recreate all my printing set ups. So to others with Epson / Apple 10.8 issues this may help when everything else fails. Thanks den.thed for your advice.

Mountain Lion AirPlay Mirroring (iMac to AppleTV) Not Working
Mountain Lion successfully installed on my iMac.
AppleTV sucessfully networked with my iMac (at least where iTunes and iPhoto are concerned.)
But AirPlay icon is NOT appearing in my menu bar. Any clues as to why this is?
In System Preferences, I've checked "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" but still nothing.

Thanks in advance!I agree, what is the point of making an operating system compatible with a particular computer and then arbitrarily disabling the most meaningful features. It seems like Apple is once again forcing us to wastefully update equipment through less than honest means. Any update they have should have a clear list of what will not be relevant to you with te equipment you are using. I would not have purchased Mountail Lion if I had been aware that AirPlay would not work. And before someone tells me that I just needed to check to look and it was clear. I went so far as to make sure my graphics card was compatible. Which is really the only thing I can see being a reasonable excuse for disabling a feature such as this.

From the App Store menu bar top of your screen, click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
You may need to temporarily disable anti virus software to download apps from the App Store including Mountain Lion.
Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion. -

After upgrading to iTunes 9.2, I am unable to type into text or search fields within iTunes.
Haven't tried all fields, but I've seen it in both search in iTunes and the iTunes store, and also trying to create folders on my iPhone (through iTunes only, it works fine on the phone).
Anyone else seen this or have an idea for a fix?
Thanks...I'm wondering if you figured out this problem. I'm having the exact same issue, which means I can't even log in to my iTunes account. I've even tried uninstalling it and reverting to iTunes 9.1.1, which then won't even open.

ITunes 10.5 Keyboard Shortcuts Not working
The new iTunes won't let me use my keyboard shortcuts when iTunes is in the background. Previous iTunes allowed this. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Running Windows 7 and iTunes 10.5 x64.I managed a different FIX. This is just for Microsoft Multimedia keyboard (I have Microsoft 8000)
I uninstalled Microsoft Intellitype 8.1 that I had and then installed the newer 8.2 Version.
Before I did that I Downgraded to Itunes 10.3 64x like someone else said, but it did not help.
If this fix don't work with Itunes 10.5 then Downgrade like I did, It easier..No copying of files needed.
After you uninstall Itunes 10.5 and Install 10.3, it give you an error for your library.
So you press "SHIFT" and then open ITUNES.
then you go to "My Music\iTunes" folder inside your genereal music folder, it should be there. (WIN 7)
then to "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and you should have a backup or and some kind of old "itunes Library folder" files...you choose one of them and Itunes opens fine with all playlist and everything.
Now everything workd find.

I after all this this does not work, might be because I installed Itune 10.3 before the new Intellitype 8.2.
So try Uninstalling Intellitype 8.2 again.
Then reinstall it...maybe it does things when Installing...I don't know.
