ITunes 10.5.2 locking up immediately after execution

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the new 10.5.2 version that was just recently released?  Ever since I loaded it iTunes locks up immediately with the waiting "hourglass" and stays this way continually requiring a hard exit to get out. I have tried several different things to no avail:
Reboot, both warm and cold
Uninstall and reinstall
Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling to an older version (10.2) but Apple sets it up where this is not possible due to an .itl file.
I have taken a couple separate data dumps in hopes of sending them to Apple but they have pretty much no way of contacting them directly with an attachment that I have found.
System specs:
O/S Windows Vista
AMD Athlon Processor 2650e, 1600 Mhz
3 Gigs of Memory and plenty of hard drive space
Here is some of the information I pulled when the program begins to lock/loop:
Appears to reach roughly 77,000 K Working Sets that spike quickly and then stop around that number.... possibly locking during startup?
Once the application locks the iTunes process is using no CPU to extremely low amounts of CPU:  <.01 percent.
Attached both detailed and short dumps
Any help with this problem, a workaround to get back to a previous version of iTunes and/or a way to get a dump file to Apple Support would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Clayton

This thing is really works for me on Windows 7 32 bit.
+ Try to  rename file "APSDaemon.exe" (c:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\) into "APSDaemon1.exe". Also before this you need to delete apsdaemon from Autorun (using CCleaner or directly in Registry) and to kill running apsdemon from Task Manager.
Now problem is solved, apsdaemon will not start anymore. You don't need to kill the task every time you close iTunes.
P.S. Be sure to rename item back when iTunes corrected version will be available.

  • ITunes 10.6.1.7 locking up immediately after execution

iTunes freezes as soon as I launch it. The only way to stop it is to kill the application via task manager. I read some of the threads where there was reference to APSDaemon.exe, were killing this process in Taskmanger will help launching iCloud and iTunes. Now apparently apple fixed the problem in one of the recent upgrades, but im still experiencing this. after launching iTunes this problem starts again. I'm not tech savy and renaming some system files and playing around is not easy.
    Can any one help?
    I have Win7 64bit OS
    Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue - namely, that iTunes re-launches itself when i try to quit.  Sometimes it shuts down long enough that I can reboot my computer which helps.  But after a while iTunes launched itself and the whole thing started over.

  • TS3276 Mail locks up immediately after launching.

Apple Mail locks up immediately after I launch, connect to three imap and pop servers and attempt to reply to a message. I force quit, and relaunch, usually successfully. It can happen several times a day!

    Lets try ...
    Safe-boot
    permissions repair
    Volume scen/rep
If none of these show improvement, then we can get a little more creative.

  • Lock iPhone Immediately after hitting end on call

I am having a really tough time with pocket dialing.  I know I can change it to immediate - but that only works when I hit the power button to end my call, but for some reason I cannot remember to do that.
Is there an app that will lock my phone after I hit "END CALL"?  I have searched and searched.
    Thanks in advance.

after you hang up and before you put your phone in your purse you press very quickly the on/off switch at the top of the phone. This will lock the phone immediately, if you do not do that, the phone will take about one minute to lock

  • Itunes auto-ejects my iPod classic immediately after mounting

    greetings,
a very strange problem started today...
    i have a 120Gig iPod classic, software version 2.0.1
i have 3 macs of different:
1 macbook pro about 3 years old with 10.6.6 and iTunes 10.1.2,
1 macbook pro also 3 years old with 10.6.7 which is my work computer, iTunes 10.5,
1 powerbook 1.5Ghz G4 with 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 which is my music server connected to my stereo.
i also have a mountable partition on my iPod to transfer files between computers when needed.
i keep my iPod set to "manual syncing" in iTunes so i can plug it into any computer to play my music when away from homw.
today, when plugging in my iPod to my MBPro with 10.6.6, the iPod showed it was connected to a computer and the iPod mounted on the desktop, like normal. then, i manually started iTunes.  the iPod appeared in iTunes but wouldn't play anything when i tryed to play songs.  the display on my iPod sad "ejecting" and then behaved as though it was no longer connected to my MBPro.  the iPod partition was now unmounted in the finder.  however iTunes still showed the iPod and all the songs on it.  i ejected the iPod in iTunes and tried again.  i watched the iPod screen and saw that after connecting to iTunes it display "syncing" for a moment, then gave an message that it was being ejected...
i repeated this on my powerbook, where it normally syncs to, with the same symptoms.
i tried resetting the iPod, cycle hold switch then hold select and menu until the apple logo appeared.  the iPod reset and i tried again with the same results...
i rebooted my computers, reset the iPod again and continue to get the same behavior on all 3 computers...  clearly an iPod problem...  iTunes indicates the iPod software is up to date...
checking the console logs for iTunes error messages, the only messages that shows up with iTunes is "CGSGetWindowBounds: Null window" repeatedly.  this appears in 1 computer, don't see error messages when connecting the iPod in the other computer....
since i cannot keep my iPod mounted to any computer with any version of iTunes, i'm not sure what to do to fix it since the simple reset option doesn't work.
i searched the iPod discussion forum and didn't see anything that looks like this.
    has anyone seen this before?
any suggestions about what to try next?
    i appreciate any suggestions...
    thanks-

    greetings,
it was obviously a problem with the iPod.  so i reformatted my iPod, reinstalled i iPod software, and then did a fresh sync to iTunes.  it seems to be working fine again for the last week.  since i couldn't mount the iPod without it auto ejecting, i had to put in into "disk mode".  then i could use iTunes to reformat and start over again.
the only thing i did BEFORE erasing the iPod was to compare the changes in my podcasts, then update the changes in iTunes so they would show up as "unplayed" on my iPod after they were copied back to my iPod.  i normally listen to podcasts on my iPod and delete them there, then iTunes syncs those changes back to my computer.

  • My iTunes freezes immediately after opening. How do I fix it?

My iTunes (10.2.2) application freezes immediately after opening. This is after having to check the library. I have left it frozen before for several minutes before force quitting. What should I do?

    Hello, Dbutta90.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • ITunes stops responding immediately after opening

My iTunes stops responding immediately after opening and even force-quit doesn't do.
Baically it freezes between pressing it and opening the window. In my large library, I can see that it loads it and then nothing more. The menu appears and then the wheel. Force quitting doesn't shut the program, no matter how I do it. It leaves the arrow and the only way is to restart the computer and start again.
I tried using another account, and it does the same. I tried with a new library. I tried with new prefs folder both on the user and on the Mac HD. I tried reinstalling iTunes. I even tried reinstalling the whole OS X - but nothing. The only thing is that after zapping PRAM it might work once or twice, but no more.
This is with iTunes 7.0.2, QuickTime 7.1.3 and OS 10.4.8
I don't know what else to do.
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. It started recently - maybe about two weeks ago - and occasionally when I launch iTunes it just freezes. I can't force quit it completely - it still shows in the Dock as though it's running, though it's not present in Activity Monitor.
Curiously, I've also had a couple of kernel panics when clicking iTunes buttons in the past week. I don't recall any system update that might have affected either iTunes or QuickTime, so I'm stumped... The only way to get iTunes back is to log out or restart.

  • TS1717 iTunes shuts down immediately after opening (Windows 7)

I'm having trouble with iTunes shutting down immediately after opening. I've tried reinstalling iTunes and QuickTime, but I'm still having the same problem. Any suggestions? I have a 64 bit version of Windows 7, and the iTunes installer file has "64" in the name, so I think it's a 64 bit version as well.

Do you get an error message when iTunes shuts down? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • SPA122 - Unit locks up if calls made immediately after register

I've run across an interesting issue. SPA 122 running Beta FW 1.2.0.
If you attempt to make a call immediately after the line light comes on - unit registers to server - the box locks up. You cannot browse to it, and the line gets stuck with dial tone playing. Must be power cycled to recover.
This unit - and - I've tried several - is completely default except for the user ID and password.
Basically, power it up with a phone attached. When the unit stabilizes, and the line light comes on, pick up the phone, and dial some digits. Hang up, and pick up again, and dial some digits.
I'm interested in knowing if others can duplicate this. I've been on hold trying to open a case for this while I type.....

    Back up all data.
Quit the application, if it's running.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.skydrive-mac.
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a folder selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop.
The folder you're moving has a name that begins with "com." It is not the subfolder named "Data" or anything else.
Relaunch the problem application and test. If it works now, delete the folder you moved. Otherwise, quit again, and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.SkyDriveLauncher
Caution: If you delete some or all of the contents of the selected folder, but leave the folder itself in place, the application may not launch. Deleting the folder will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

Hi, I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 7.0.4 and the phone keeps going of whenver battery level drops to 20% and it give the warning. It turns off immediately after I dismiss the warning message. I LOCKED THE PHONE AT 21% and I was able to play music to 4% which means there is no problem with the battery, this seems to be a programming error.
Earlier suggestion include that the battery has a dead cell but it wouldnt keep playing music for over 2 hours it it had a dead cell.

My issue with IOS 7.1 and higher is my Bluetooth for the phone still works...no problem but the music does not work with bluetooth...I have an Acura TSX 2010...Acura said there are no incidents reported, but me...I just upgraded to IPhone 6 and still no good....as soon as i hit the AUX button it say USB...not bluetooth...ugh

  • ITunes crashes immediately after launch

    Hello,
Using an iMac running Mountain Lion with three profiles - myself, my wife and my oldest son. On my side of the computer iTunes starts just fine. When my wife and son log into their respective sides of the computer iTunes will load, and then crash immediately. I've tried to reinstall iTunes on each side of the computer with no success.
As an aside, the mac app store application crashes immediately after it launches as well for all three profiles on the computer.
Any ideas of what to do here?

If you haven't tried already, uninstall your itunes completely (MacKeeper or CleanMyMac will do this) and reinstall the software. Possibly a glitch ocurred during your download. Also, make sure your system isn't too overloaded with junk (again MacKeeper and CleanMyMac), I ran into trouble with updates and downloads when my system was full of deleted software or reloaded software that left "fragments" in the system (not sure if thats the proper term but that's the only way I know how to put it).
Side note: simply putting Itunes in the trash isn't the best route to go. CleanMyMac was about $10.99 when I bought it, & MacKeeper is around $40 but is full of helpful operations and is definitely worth the investment, especially with its AntiVirus and help center.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS1363 Is anyone else suddenly getting this problem on both iPod & iPad immediately after downloading the last upgrade to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

Is anyone else suddenly finding that iTunes is not recognising both iPad & iPod when trying to sync via a PC AND that this problem started immediately after downloading the last upgrade to iTunes 10.6.1.7 to said PC? Im loathed to waste time following the recommended steps on the Apple help site to find that the problem is the new iTunes version.

Your article is for earlier version of iPods.

My MacBook was stolen, and after a find my iphone erase instruction I got the erase started message, suppose all info on that computer was vanished.
