Itunes 10.5.2 upgrade will not run

I just upgraded to Itunes 10.5.2 from 10.5.1 on Windows XP.  Install went as expected.  Click on Itunes icon or select from Programs and immediately window pops up with error message saying Itunes had to shut down... Sorry for the inconvenience.  This also happened when upgrading Quicktime from 7.7.0 to 7.7.1.  , except QT 7.7.1 will not even install itself.  Any idea on a solution?
I have uninstalled all Apple applications and reinstalled Itunes.  I know it worked ok on 10.5.1.  I tried starting Itunes in safe mode.  This did nothing.  Also installed on another account on the same PC and same result.  I have another laptop with Itunes 10.5.1 installed and don't want to upgrade that one until I know what is happening.

I was able to locate a previous version of Itunes and reinstall it.  All seems to be ok for now.  Whats up with 10.5.2???

Ran Adobe Creative Cloud updates today, all updates installed and are working OK except for Lightroom, it will not run when opened, no error messages appear and windows trouble shooter reports it as lightroom is incompatible. I have done a complete manual uninstall, reinstalled and the problem still exists. Does anyone have the same problem or a possible fix

    Hi
After installing lightroom CC you must sign out and oce again sign in from the creative cloud.
    Do this by:

  • Version 5 upgrade will not run on windows vista home but version 3 runs perfectly

download installs but Mozilla will not connect to google. reinstalling version 3

i forgot the exact text of the original error message, but it was looking for a *.dll that was not there - as if the install had not completed.
tried re-installing & it would stop in the middle of the download with a completely different error message - i was going to screen grab it, but then i got it to work!
Anyway, after uninstalling everything related to iTunes, emptying my recycle bin, cleaning up a bunch of unnecessary files, and stopping some programs that were running in the background (using task manager) - i did a complete re-install from the Apple iTunes website & it worked fine.
    thanks!

  • Latest iTunes and QT install properly, will not run. Help?

Fujitsu laptop 2.8Ghz, 512MB memory, XP SP2, iTunes 6.0.2.23, QT 7.04. Hardwired to router/cable Internet connection.
I am a dedicated Mac user, and friend has the above equipment. He had a previous point level version of iTunes that stopped working about the time he started using his new Nano. He removed iTunes and downloaded latest (above). Installation runs and finishes normally without any informational or error messages. Attempts to run iTunes from the desktop, or directly from the iTunes application fail (w/o any messages). Like a cat, it just ignores you.
I personally used the control panel to remove iTunes, and then delete iTunes folder corpse in program files. Rebooted the computer, downloaded (above) iTunes/QT package. It installs normally, yet any attempts to launch iTunes recreates the no activity situation. Both network installs and local installs produce same result.
He is going to use his vendor supplied backup disks to reinstall the computer. Then perform O/S updates, and then try to reinstall iTunes/QT again.
Is there any malware in the wild right now that may be contributing to this issue on Windows platforms? I will also be recommending that he turn off his Symantec A/V software for the next install, though it wasn't off during the initial successful installation and use of iTunes.
Any constructive ideas to get back out of the ditch? Yeah, I tried for months to get him over to the Apple side without success.
    Thx,
    Chuck

    Ok it is solved.
Reinstalled iTunes 6.03/QT 7.04 bundle with Norton Internet Security turned OFF.
With NIS still off, launched NIS panel and selected programs tab. Went to configure button, and then added each iTunes and QuickTime executable to NIS with "Permit" authorization.
Turned NIS back on and rebooted. Upon restart, clicking on iTunes desktop icon launched and played iTunes normally. Visited Apple music store, and also launched QT movie trailers without issue.
Again, friend's Fujitsu laptop running XP is now working fine after a hard lesson with Norton Internet Security application.
    Thankyou,

  • ITunes 10.5 and Vista - will not run

Well, I upgraded to 10.5 on my Vista 32 bit system. iTunes installs but simply is not responsive after starting up. Even more curious, it prevents Internet access until I reboot the machine. The Internet connection is fine -20 Mbps otherwise.
I did a complete uninstall and re-install following the Apple support page. same outcome.
No clue what to do.  No clue.

    Hello Everyone
I had almost every problem that is listed on this fourm trying to install Itunes 10.5
Here is the way I found to get it installed
I had to do this on two computers
I Downloaded Itunes 9.0.3 and installed it.
    That went fine, everything ok.
Next I Downloaded Itunes 10.3.1 and installed it.
    That went fine. everything ok.
Then I had Itunes check for Updates
It downloaded Quicktime then Itunes 10.5 then Safari
    Everything loaded without a hitch
Now I have Itunes running and have updated my Iphone 4 and Ipad
    No Problems at all.
I think that the loading of Itunes 9.0,3 cleared up the bad files.
    Good Luck
    Jim

  • ITunes 7.1.1 "upgrade" will not even launch on my miniMac (forget crashing)

I just performed the 7.1.1 "upgrade". If I launch iTunes, it's menu bar comes up, but no window and the "busy" icon just keeps churning. After a while (I've done it three times, so first time was after 10 hours (as I launched it before work), second time 5 minutes, third 10 minutes), if I Force Quit it, it keeps churning. When I go to the Force Quit Applications window again, it shows as "Not Responding".
I went to apple.com and installed it again. Same results. So now I am iTune-less. What to do? Is there any place I can download an older version? (I realize now I'm stupid for not having kept an earlier iteration of the install package.)

OK, turns out you can't leave your Shuffle plugged in when you go to launch a new version of iTunes. Who knew? I'm all set.

  • ITUNES v. 5.01 WILL NOT RUN

I have had my iPod for about a month now and have had no problems when it comes to running iTunes. However, as I tried to load songs onto it earlier today it wouldn't open.
I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it. I have shut down, turned on, or restarted my computer. Nothing is working and I'm getting pretty frustrated. Any suggestions?
I have already checked almost all files on the SUPPORT webpage.

To download an older version (4.9 which works better) click this link:

That should take you to a post and at the bottom someone has posted a link.

  • ITunes 10 will not run on Windows 7, 64 bit

I have upgraded to itunes 10 and now it will not run. In task manager the process is running but no programme. i uninstalled all itunes, quick step, bonjour and apple folders. Then tried a clean instal of itunes 10. Still didn't work. Uninstalled again and reloaded v 9.2 and it works. Tried disabling bonjour and ran the instal of 10 again and it still doesn't work. This is becoming a major pain as I am stuck on v9.2.

Try installing the version 10 again so we can check on a few other characteristics of the problem, seeoh.
    (1) Does your QuickTime Player launch, or do you get an error message of some kind when you try to launch that?
    (2) Try (by way of experiment) disabling the BonJour Service.
In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?

  • Using 2006 iMac running Mac OS 10.6.8. My iTunes App (11.3.1) will not launch. Upgraded to iTunes (11.4) but problem persists. Need help.

Using 2006 iMac running Mac OS 10.6.8.
My iTunes App (11.3.1) will not launch.
Upgraded to iTunes (11.4) but problem persists.
    Need help.

I have no answers for ya, but I do have the same problem, so we are not alone in this.
My iTunes stopped working after I did a couple of software updates that got my iTunes up to v. 11.4. Since that update, I can't get iTunes to open at all, neither from my dock nor from the Applications menu.
I'm wondering: Perhaps these latest iTunes updates are simply too advanced for my 10.6.8 operating system? If that's the case, how can I backtrack to an earlier version of iTunes that is compatible with my computer OS?
    Any thoughts?
