Itunes 10.5.3.3 stops Working

Hello,
after updating to the before mentioned version of itunes, it stopped working.
Meaning it froze while playing music.
After i tried to remove an reinstall it ( with all my music an playlists removed ) i reinstalled it.
and now it always freezes while adding the music to the library.
it tried different things,
from running in compability mode, over the apperently running Problem with Bigfoot killer network software ( LPS problem),
to apsdaemon.exe problem, giving full permisson to itunes, and running it using a different user account, the Problems still persists.
It tried to differnt tricks recommanded by apple support http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421?viewlocale=en_US
but it still doesent work...
i m really desperate
pls help
(itunes runs on win 7 64 bit)

Have had very similar problem after updating to iTunes 10.5.3. (Win7 64bit) After I spent severals hours talking to "experts" from Apple as well as Microsoft, I've had more than enough. This is really hard to believe to be true.
Apple relieses application for Windows with Microsoft approval, and then nobody takes responsibility, when the two do not work together. Lukily I found a workaround. Just right click on the song choose "open with...iTunes" and here it is nicely in iTunes library.
I hope it works for many frustrated iTunes users.                                       Jacek

While trying to use my iTunes library it will suddenly stop working with the error message Runtime error R6025 pure virtual function call.
    Help???

Just responded to this in another thread (note we used Captivate 7 so it might be a different error).
We found that when we created files with embedded swf files that existed ABOVE widgets in the timeline, when someone else tried to open our file it broke/we got the runtime error. The original person could still open it for a time, but eventually the cache would clear and they couldn't.
However, if we ensured swf files are BELOW widgets in the source files, it didn't break. In fact, if we found one that was breaking and got the author to move the swf file on the timeline, it would start working for others.
STRANGE! Let me know if this works for you to!

    Hello warrior41
Start with the article below to troubleshoot issues with iTunes crashing or not working as expected. Start with booting up iTunes into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists as well as creating a new user to see if the issue is system wide.

  • Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working

Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working and when I click on the message it closes the whole program down.  I have tried the trouble shoot compatability but it just says incompatible application detected.  I am not very tecnical but have tried to uninstall the programs and re install them but with no luck.  This problem started after I added a new album but I have now removed it from the computer.  Help!

Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".
Does that go through any better for you?

  • ITunes 10.3.1 has stopped working in Windows 7 64bit

I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and I downloaded iTunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 64 bit.  My Quicktime player is working fine but everytime i tried to open iTunes, it gives me an error message that says iTunes has stopped working.  I need help trying to fix this, I already tried uninstalling, re-installing, and mostly every suggestion in the Apple support forum and it still does not work.

Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the  c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder. I had same problem and it's fixed this bug.

  • ITunes 11.0.2.26 stops working when I try and Get Info

Hi, I've never asked a question here before, so bare with me if I give all the wrong information or something...
Recently, I'd been having trouble getting my iPod Touch 3rd gen 64 gb to sync with my iTunes Library. It would sync all my old music but any new music I added was completely ignored. In a last stich effort to fix this problem without having to resort to resetting my iTouch, I decided to update my itunes. I now have the iTunes version 11.0.2.26 and everything seemed to be working fine. My ipod syncs old and new music and all my information is still in tact.
    However.
With this new version of iTunes, every single time I try and change a song's information via the "Get Info" button, iTunes suddenly stops working and closes before I've even been able to see the information. A Microsoft Windows window pops up and says,
    "Itunes has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution
    is available."
This is a screenshot of what pops up when I click and Get Info: http://25.media.tumblr.com/1d3334a0bf5f0a7308b28f4565ff02a6/tumblr_mit8vzNS1E1ro wvqao1_500.jpg
I have a Microsoft Windows Vista
ACPI x86-based PC, driver version: 6.0.6002.18005
465 GB capacity, with only 248 GB being used
As I said before I have a 64 GB Generation iTouch 3rd Gen, and a version 11.0.2.26 iTunes. Windows informs me that all of my drivers are up-to-date and there are no current updates available.
I've tried running my iTunes in safe mode and that didn't help, and I've also tried uninstalling and then reinstalling itunes. I really don't know what else to do other than try that "Create Another User and test" thing. I am really not that well-versed in computers and diagnostics, so I'm hopping I won't have to get elbows deep in the inner files of my iTunes to try and fish out some plug-in or another. Nothing else seems to be wrong. I can sync and add music and create playlists and purchase music. I just cannot edit Get Info without my iTunes crashing.
Should I try and download the old version of iTunes again and just reset my iTouch?
    http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=6704

    First I would try this
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Next remove the Apple software using the instruction above and install a previous version. You can Google to find the previous versions

  • ITunes 10.6.1.7 stops working in Windows 7

Starting iTunes with my existing iTunes library crashes. I can start iTunes with a new (empty) library and it does not crash. If I try to add any music (Add file to libarary) or go to iTunes store it crashes ("iTunes has stopped working"). I have tried running iTunes in Safe mode with same result. Other things I have tried that have not worked...
    Delete all cookies
    Restart computer
Run full virus scan (Kaspersky).. no threats found
    Uninstall iTunes, download again, reinstall
    Uninstall Safari, download again, reinstall
    Uninstall QuickTime, download again, reinstall
Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Itunes 10.6.0.40 Stops Working

I have been having trouble accessing ITunes since Thursday March 15th.  I open ITunes and it starts to run Match and download podcasts and usually crashes within a minute.  A couple times I have stopped Match from running and it has not crashed, but most of the time even stopping Match results in a crash.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and up to date on my patches.  When this first started happening I uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes and it is the most recent 64 bit version 10.6.0.40.

I saw some posts online about needing to recreate my ITunes library.  beyond hoping to not have to do that, I am not sure what impact having ITunes Match would have on recerating a library (does it need to start over in scanning my library and uploading unmatched files?)
Thank you for any help you can provide.  I was initially hoping this was due to their servers being busy from the IPad launch, but now that it is still happening I am guessing thats not it.

    Hello,
I've been unable to use my iTunes ever since upgrading to v10.6 Today with the new roll out of v10.6.1 I ran the fresh update hoping the issue would be resolved... After the update, Same CRASH issue at opening...  I was able to FIX this on my own after messing around with an extremely confusing support article. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
Try doing this troubleshoot and see if it helps you, it worked great for me! After I moved the first folder location listed below, my iTunes was fixed! I have since deleted that folder I had moved earlier and iTunes it's still working like a charm. I've also re-wrote the instructions for you more clearly then apple did.
    Remove iTunes Preference files
Some of the files that iTunes uses to store it's settings and preferences may be unusable and cause issues.  iTunes has two folders where it's preferences are saved. Move one of the folders to another folder location ie. (my documents, etc.) and try opening and running itunes to test.  This is to see if the issue persists after removing these files. If the issue does not persist, simply delete the moved folder and enjoy using iTunes! However, If the issue still persists, move the folder back to where it was originally and try the same process again, this time moving the second folder. The location for the two preference folders are:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Really hope this helps you!

  • My music is on an external drive and is about 250GB. When I shut iTunes down it crashes and stops working. Windows has to close the program. What do I do?

I can't seem to get iTunes to shut down without crashing. After closing the program a window pops up that says "Saving iTunes Library..." and then immediately another window below it that says "iTunes has stopped working" and only gives me the option to close the program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and that didn't work. What else can I try?

Exclude your antivirus software's real time scanner from the iTunes folder.

    System-wide troubleshooting
When troubleshooting system-wide issues with iTunes, try these steps:
Check for viruses. Windows viruses can interfere with a variety of computer functions, including iTunes.
Make sure that you have current anti-virus software installed with up-to-date virus definitions.
    Scan your system.
Check for anti-virus and Internet security software. Internet security software may cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly. Try disabling the Internet security software temporarily or exempting iTunes from any active scanning done by the software. If this resolves the issue, check with the maker of the software for an update to the software or its virus definitions. Learn more about fixing security software issues.
Check for conflicting processes. Sometimes other programs and startup items can conflict with iTunes.
Remove iTunes configuration files. Removing unusable configuration files from iTunes can resolve launch issues.
Check the iTunes installations. An improper installation of iTunes can contribute to a variety of issues. Follow these steps to completely reinstall iTunes.
Update the drivers on your PC. Outdated drivers on your computer can cause strange behavior with iTunes, iPod devices, and other apps. Learn how to update the drivers on your computer.

  • ITunes 11 - Apple TV Homesharing Stopped Working

    Hi there
I hope someone will have some advice as I've tried just about everything I can think of myself and no joy!
In short, homesharing between my iMac and Apple TV has suddenly stopped working - this is with:
    Apple TV - 5.1.1
    iTunes - 11.0.1
    OS X  10.7.5
All the above has the latest updates and homesharing is already turned on in both Apple TV and iTunes, however all of a sudden when I go to my film library in Apple TV, I'm getting the message to turn on homesharing in iTunes.
I've tried turning homesharing off and back on again in both Apple TV and iTunes to no avail. I've restarted iTunes, rebooted the Mac, restarted the Apple TV and rebooted my router.  None of the above has worked.
What I'm a bit perplexed about is that it was working fine this morning and suddenly stopped....without any changes to anything.
Anyone have any ideas or similar issues?
    Many thanks

Super frustrating.  I'm also experiencing this!  I have turned on/off Home Sharing multiple times and have reset AppleTV to factory defaults.  Still showing that I must "turn on Home Sharing."

  • ITunes broken? Burn playlist stopped working

Was burning a series of CDs from my iTunes library. Working great, then suddenly stopped working altogether.
Inserting a blank CD will open it in the finder as a burnable disk. Clicking "burn playlist to disk" no longer causes anything to happen.
Given there are no symptoms, error messages, anything... not sure where to begin with this.

Before I buy something I like to sample it first. And I can do that most of the time. But every once is awhile it will stop working in the middle of a song. Then it won't work at all anymore. If anyone knows the solution please tell me. Or if there was maybe someone in apple that I could get a hold of too. That would be great. Thanks.

    First I would try this
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Next remove the Apple software using the instruction above and install a previous version. You can Google to find the previous versions
