Itunes 10.5 64bit will not install on Win7

I get a "There is a problem with this Windows installer package..."

I was having the same issue.  Heres what I did:
1. Uninstalled itunes.  (dont worry this does not delete your music or media)
2. restart
3. if install doesnt work, go to control panel > Uninstall program > left click on Apple Update Software so that it's highlighted > Click on Repair at the top.
4. Wait until the process is complete and then try reinstalling.  Worked for me after that.
The old Apple Update Software must not be communicating very well with the new itunes software.
Good luck!

  • ITunes 11.1.4 will not install properly - windows 8.1, 64 bit.  My only way to recover is to restore my system.  iTunes 11.1.3.8 functions properly.  When will Apply provide a workable update?

iTunes 11.1.4 will not install properly - windows 8.1, 64 bit.  The only way I have found to recover is to restore my system.  I have unistalled/reintalled iTunes two times.  No success.  iTunes 11.1.3.8 functions properly (following system restore).  When is Apply expected to provide a workable update?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

  • Itunes gives me this error message This copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes (-42037) However, it will not install-- when i try to download from the net it says same message.  How do i reinstall Itunes?

Itunes gives me an error message when I try to open.   "This copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes (-42037) "
Howeever it says the same thing when i try to download from the app store.  How do I get this reinstalled??

First uninstall your copy of Itunes--http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/uninstall-itunes/  (make sure you empty crash)  Then you go to the applications website and reinstall it.  Dont worry about losing any of your music because thats in a separate folder.   Thats it---it works.

  • C4780 will not install in win7

My two HP Photosmart C4780 Printers will not install in windows 7 32bit or 64bit.  I tried 3 different computers
    utilizing the specified software PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175.exe
And the computers refuse to install this driver under win7.
On windows xp, these same printers install without any difficulty.

    Hi Ka6eegdon,
I thought that maybe this document would help make sure that the uninstall is complete.

Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Services, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Installer. Check to see if it is Manual or Automatic.  and if the service has been stopped.  Should say Windows installer Status type(in the middle of page) :Automatic
    Service Status should say Started.
Then try reinstall downloading from  www.hp.com/support.

    Hey Rwstalzer,
First try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
    Let me know.
    Thanks

I have a Windows 7 OS 64 bit, ZT desktopcomputer with 16meg memory. I have not been able to install any updates
to itunes to my computer.  It downloads, but then when installing, it looks like it is going to complete the install
and then it rolls back and says the errors occured and to try again.  I have a win7 64bit HP Laptop that installed
the itune updates with no problem.  I have to sync my iphone to my Laptop as it will not work with my desktop.
    Please advise.
         Thanks,

Do you have any other drive connected, which has a copy of FCP X?
I would make a copy of the application in some drive, just in case; then disconnect the drive, delete the application (could use FCS Remover to delete everything related).
Then, try installing from the purchases tab in the App Store.

  • ITunes 11.1.2 will not install on Windows 8.1 64-bit

My iTunes 11.1.11 works fine with Windows 8.1 64 bit on my Dell XPS desktop
However, when I try to install iTunes 11.1.2 from the  "new version available" - screen, nothing happens. The "new version available" - screen just disappears and reappears.
    Any solutions?

    Thak you, mfein!

I have the same situation except I'm on iTunes 11.0.4.4. The other difference is it goes through the update and also for the iCloud control panel. It goes through the download and fails at the installation. There is a red exclamation mark in the update panel. It then says update manually through the Tools menu, this also fails. iTunes works so I'm not at a complete loss.
I also chose "download only" instead of "install" from the tools menu of the update panel. Two files were downloaded, an apple install mngr and a setup file. I opend the apple install manager, and was notified that the mngr was already running on my machine. However, the mngr program continued, and the 11.1.2 version was perfectly installed.
Maybe you have an older version of the mngr and therefore should open the downlowded install mngr instead of the setup file?
I also suppose that a "clean" install of the 11.1.2 version from apple's download page will work equally well and hence solve your problem.

  • The iTunes 10.1 download will not install

If the lake weren't frozen, I'd be flinging my wife's new iPod Nano to the bottom of it. Theoretically, I have everything necessary to set my wife up on her Christmas gift, an iPod Nano. OSX 10.6.4 on a four month old iMac.
The download worked. When I clicked to install, the progress bar went along until it hit the very end. At the one minute to go mark, the installation stops progressing. It shows that the installation is still in progress but nothing further happens for two hours. Is there a glitch in the installation program?

You need to go here and downlaod iTunes and reinstall it. No need to uninstall first.
    -> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Version 10.1.54 was replaced by 10.1.56.
It is a different build number (56 vs. 54) but the same version so software update will not find it.

  • Remote Viewer will not install on Win7 64

I can not install novell-zenworks-rm-viewer-11.2.2.12992.MSI on Windows 7 64. The error says "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file. I've downloaded it several times attempting to install. I've tried to save it and then install it. Tried to install it directly from the download. I can not even find any other versions to download and try to install on the Novell web site. If I do this from a Windows XP 32 computer I have no issues at all.

Make sure you are using the 32bit version of IE not 64-bit.

  • HELP - FRUSTRATED - iTunes 7 Downloaded but will not install

Hi....I have downloaded iTunes. But when I then run the iTunesSetup.exe to install it, I keep getting the exact same message:
"The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime"
That's it. No error number or further explanation. I have deleted/erased all other versions of QuickTime. I have downloaded, run and installed the QuickTime 7 standalone installer from my hard drive and yet I still keep getting the same message I posted above.
This is going on 3 hours now, and I'm not happy.

let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple Engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • Itunes 11.1.1 will not install

Have been trying now for two days to update itunes to 11.1.1 on a Windows 7 PC. Please don't refer me to your little "help" topics, b/c they don't work. I have played around in msconfig (itunes isn't even showing up there) and shut off my antivirus to no avail.
The update is buggy. FIX IT.

Sorry if I was rude, I was trying to post to Apple directly, but their whole "question/discussion" nonsense is confusing.
iTunes will no longer update or install on my Windows 7 pc. All the suggestions Apple makes in other forums/answers/wth ever do not work, are not helping, and frankly make no sense.
I'm just reverting back to earlier version and waiting for them to fix it with 11.1.2

  • Itunes 10.5.1 will not install on windows 7 64-bit

When ever i go to install iTunes 10.5.1 on my computer i come up with this error message
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32', version="8.0.50727.4053".publicKeyTocken="1fc8b3b9a 1e 18e3b".processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070BC9
    what do i do?

Same problem for me. iTunes 64bits instlls well up to 80% of the process.
then it says that some software components are missing.
I was never able of completing my iTunes installation (on my new computer).
earlier versions are no longer available and the iTunes for 32bits isn't accepted by Windows 7 64 bits.
Can anyone at Apple explain what this is ?
Has anyone experienced the same problem ?
