ITunes 10.5 error 7 message

I had iTunes 10.4.1 for Windows 7 (64-bit) working fine. I was prompted to update to iTunes 10.5 and I did. After I restarted, I tried to open iTunes. I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 5)." I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. I've tried a lot of what Apple and Windows suggest might fix the problem, but nothing has so far. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone have a solution to this problem? I've gone back to 10.4.1 but I can't use the store or connect my iPod Touch or iPad to be synced or updated. Please help! Thank you.

Same problem.  I have updated everything including .NET framework.  iTunes opens but when you try to place music it freezes and tells me iTunes was not installed correctly.  I have uninstalled several times. Worse, the restore point seems to be lost. Really frustrating!
