Itunes 10.5 install error

Hey!
I have a problem installing the new itunes..
I already have tried to uninstall all of the earlier Apple software as Itunes, bonjour and so on..
Now when i try to install the new Itunes, and then suddently it freezes in 10-15 minuts.. and then it gives me an error message..
Microsoft.VC80.CRT,tybe="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9 a1e18e3b",peocessorArchitecture="x86"
HRESULT: 0x800736FD
I run Windows 7 64-bit
ASUS Notebook

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

What is the problem with the newest version of iTunes (Failed to install - error 7 & missing MSVCR80.dll) - the DLL is not missing.  tgried to install today and it failed - what a waste.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall go to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • ITunes will not install, error message "could not access network location"

I just got a new iPod Classic for Christmas but I have an older Mac so I was going to use an extra PC that we have laying around the house but every time I try to install iTunes, I get this Error:
Could not access network location \\S090100\d$\Data.Backup\C09010009-FDR\My Documents\My Pictures\.
It does not have Error 1606 anywhere on it and it asks me if I want to Retry or Cancel. I have tried EVERYTHING, please help!!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Itunes does not install Error - Apple Mobile device failed to start?

How to fix installing problem with itunes - Error message is Apple Mobile Device failed to start

Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

  • ITunes will not install, error message.

So, last week my itunes update download the lastest version of itunes. When I went to click on the itunes icon to went to install.
It gave me the error message "the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file c:\program files\itunes\ituneshelp.resources\es.lproj\ituneshelperlocalized.dll"
Since then I have tried various solutions to similar problems listed here and other sites, including turning off the user control, unpacking the installer and installing the various parts separately, downloading older versions of itunes, removing all other apple components, installing Quicktime and then installing iTunes, etc.
Every time I get through a good part of the process and I get the same error message "the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file c:\program files\itunes\ituneshelp.resources\es.lproj\ituneshelperlocalized.dll"
I'm about to give up... someone please help!!!

Looking through some other posts I found a solution. Go on the web and download iTunes only, do not automatically install. Then, install the file and when it askes you the destination, change the folder name (I just added a 2). iTunes then installs and all of you songs, playlists, etc. are there.

  • ITunes WILL NOT install-error messages 1714,1603

I have attempted to install Itunes (various builds) and keep receiving the same error messages...1714 (older version of ITunes can not be removed)immediately followed by error 1603.
I have read every message regarding installs and have attempted to install QT on its own and then attempt to install Itunes, (no dice), uninstall and remove all references to ITunes and QuickTime in the registry (still no soap) and also use Windows Installer Remover (AND STILL no results).
    I have a $400 IPod that I cannot use since I can't install Itunes.....any suggestions?

  • ITunes won't install - Error 7

I tried to install the new itunes version the other day on my ipod touch but got an Error 7 message followed by this:
the procedure entry point kCMPyteStreamNotification_AvailableLengthChanged could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll.  It also told me to re-install itunes but I didn't after reading some other posts that said it didn't help to do this.
I've read other posts talking about QTXX.dll problems but this one seems different.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi!! I finally found a solution
I´m Sure this one will work for everyone
-First you have to uninstall all Apple Software using Control Panel
-Download Unlocker Software from softsonic heres the link http://tinyurl.com/3e8gj2h
    or google it
    -Install Unlocker
-Go to Start and type this in search: %programdata%
-ProgramData window will open, so find apple folders
-Right click in each apple folder and find Unlocker in the options
-Choose Delete each apple folders (with unlocker program)
-Go to My PC, C Local Disk and find Program Files
-Look for Apple folders and Delete them (with Unlocker)
-Find a Folder (in Program Files) called Common Files
-Delete all Apple Folders (in common files) with Unlocker
    - Empty your trash can (thats what i did)
    -Reboot
    -Install Itunes
Note: You can Reboot or use Safe Mode to use Unlocker if it doesnt work.
    ....and that's All
    AFTER Days of frustration LOL
Good vibe, Love and Blessings for all!!

  • Itunes will not install error message 2

I keep getting some message about something, it then rolls back, carries on, then comes up with error message 2 at the end.
Tried uninstalling and re installing, tried installing apple applications support manually, tried to edit the stuff in the registry which worked....until i plugged my phone in then itunes said my phone wasn't compatible, told me to uninstall and re install, I uninstalled and then it's back to square one, won't install again.
I don't know what else to do because all the solutions offered on here i've tried about 40 times.
Getting really fed up - this should be a simple process, not something that takes 4 hours and still isn't working.
    Sort it out Apple!

  • Itunes 6.0 install error

im on windows xp and as soon as i double click the itunes setup it tells me that i dont have sufficent privleges to install for all users.
this however is not true because
    1) i am the only user listed aside from guest
    2) under user info it states that i have admin privleges
the error message also refers to d:/windows/downloaded instalations
but i dont have a d: drive, my windows is in C, and when i look in that folder in the C drive it is empty.
    any help is greatly appreciated

Unless that is where you saved the download (which I doubt) you are launching the wrong one. Usually windows will default to the last folder used for a download. When downloading from apple make sure you take notice of the path or just save it to your desktop.
A better way to verify you are in the administrator group is to open Computer Management. Rt Click on My Computer and then click on Manage. Expand the Local Users and Groups" then click on the groups folder. The administrator group is listed in the left and if you click a window will open with the users in the group. I have heard of people having success with this by creating another user with admin rights even though the one you are using has admin rights. Remember to turn off firewall/virus/privacy/web accelerators.

  • ITunes upgrade/fresh install error!

    Hello all.
I am using an iPod Touch second generation. Tried to upgrade to iOS5 but it required me to upgrade my iTunes to the latest version. Tried to upgrade and an error popped up "Package installer error" or some sort. Been told to redownload the installer package or try to reinstall. Tried both but to no avail. I thought my current iTunes was the culprit so I uninstalled my iTunes and tried again installing the latest iTunes. But the same error popped up again!
Now I don't have any itunes, and I dont know where does the previous itunes keep my iPod backup files. I have thousands of apps over there and it would be really frustrating to lose it.
Someone please help me. Thanks in advance.

    "Package installer error"
What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

  • ITunes 7.6 Install Error... Pls. Help.

Each time I try to upgrade my ITunes 7.5 to 7.6, halfway through the install, my computer prompts the following error message "Problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your personnel or package vendor" Arrrrrrrrgah! I need to install ITunes 7.6 for the January IPod Touch update. Please help. Thx.

I can't see what the error messages say from my iPhone lol
If its an installation error: Go to support.microsoft.com/fixit
In section 2 click on: Install or upgrade software or hardware
Then click on the title in section 3: Fix problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstall
This link may get you there:  http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/
Let it run and then try to download it again

  • ITunes not properly installed error...

    Hi,
I'm running iTunes version 7.0.2.16. Yesterday when I booted iTunes it told me that it was not installed properly and it will not be able to rip or burn CD's... This is the first time this has ever happened and I've had iTunes installed on this computer for a while...
I have Windows XP Media Center.
    My Quicktime version is 7.1.3.
Do I really need to reinstall iTunes? If so, is there any way to keep my playlists, etc. without having to lose them and start over?
Thanks so much for any input.
    Scott

I don't think this one is a variation of the device filter troubles, Littlebirt.
    Checking something from the diagnostics:
+Virtual drives can sometimes interfere with reading and writing CDs in iTunes. If this is a virtual drive and you are having problems with other drives, try uninstalling the virtual CD application.+
Is there any virtual drive software (like, say, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%) installed on the PC?

  • ITunes 7.7 install error

I just got my Macbook about 2-3 days ago, and I got my iPhone like yesterday. I tried to sync up the two, but I needed the new version (7.7) of iTunes. Well I downloaded the dmg file and tried to install it, but it gives me a "Warning: The following disk images failed to mount - Reason: Invalid argument" message. Anyone know what the problem is?
I haven't hooked up the Macbook to the internet yet because I don't have wifi/ethernet at my house, so I had to download the dmg to my PC (which I'm on now) and copy it to the mac with via a flash drive. Think that may have had something to do with it? I had a problem with installing TI-Connect on the mac from the drive too and still haven't figured it out yet. I installed Firefox and AIM from the drive, though, so I have no clue what's up.. any help?
