ITunes 10.5 Ruins Apple Experience
I have not been using Apple products for very long, (approximately 2 years) but I think I know enough of the actual experience consumers are supposed to receive and the problem with iTunes 10.5 is NOT one of them. I bought my first Apple iPod Touch in July, and I made an account with Apple, thinking I'd only use it in emergencies. However, downloading iTunes 10.5 SHOULD NOT count as an emergency, and SHOULD NOT be too difficult for Apple to fix. Yes, you're all about Apple products, and I get that I really do, but you cannot just leave Windows users to figure it out on their own. I read from many others that they've contacted support and was just told to "Uninstall, reinstall, everything should be fine". What I've also read from the SAME people is that it DOES NOT work. I've been trying to fix it all afternoon and evening yesterday. I'm just a high school student, and I'm sick and I had to stay home from school. I DID NO HOMEWORK WHATSOEVER because of such a problem. I tried everything I could do. I uninstalled and reinstalled just to make matters WORSE. Now I had to look through my registry for a key that I do not have sufficient access to. Everytime I gained access for a specific key, iTunes says I did not have access for ANOTHER key, et cetera. I had to give myself access to different keys, and it was such a long and tedious task. By the way, I did NOT get iTunes to work. I went through 13 keys before I just quit on such a stupid problem.
Now that I'm done complaining, may I ask if anyone has fixed the problem? I'm getting the problem where it says I don't have sufficient access to a certain key in Components in regedit. I tried using Apple Software Update, but it said it couldn't install, and told me to go to tools and download only and install manually (I'm going to try it when its finished). I know someone has fixed the problem, I just want that person(s) to share.
And is Apple doing anything to fix the problem?
PS: I've also tried using my old itunes64setup.exe for older versions, but guess what? I can't even get iTunes to install.
I am running a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Operating System on my Samsung QX410 Laptop.
I have had no other operating systems prior to my current one.
Had same problems here this morning, but it eventually fixed itself. There seems to have been a lot of problems with Apple ID logins, perhaps things overloaded with the iTunes Match service just being launched in new parts of the world.
My advice is not to do anything, especially don't change your Apple ID password as this leads to even more problems with other devices and services! I know its hard but being patient is the best approach.

The problem for me is that I've never answered these questions ever in my hole apple experience and even if I did, I've 100% completely forgot about them. I then decided to email a link to deactivate my questions however this email from Apple had never come, I'm know left unable to download music, apps, and books.
You need to manage your Apple ID and change your security question there.

When i got on itunes after i was told my iphone4 is unlocked. I got this MSG that this sim is not supported then I can't do anything. I don't have any icons on my phone and I can't restore thru iTunes. Anyone has similar experience? What do u do? AT&T told me my phone is unlocked but I can't do anything need help. You'll need to either a) insert your AT&T SIM card and then restore the phone, or b) force your iPhone into recovery mode. If you re-insert the AT&T SIM card, make sure you swap it with your new T-Mobile one before you start the setup assistant. If you force the phone into recovery mode then just leave the T-Mobile SIM card in it.
You must restore your iPhone to complete the setup assistant so that your phone can be activated with T-Mobile.

I just purchase this card two hours ago on my visa debit card and I am receiving a invalid nonactivate message. What do I do. I always purchase iTunes cards and have never experience this before.
Are you able to go back to where you bought it from and see if they can activate it properly ? ITunes 9.2 causing Apple TV sync issues
I find that after I've updated to iTunes 9.2 my Apple TV will no longer sync with iTunes. I believe this is a real problem and would like to hear if anyone else is having the same issues.
After clicking on Sync, the process initiates but never gets passed the rolling bar and no content is copied after an extremely long period of time. I run only Apple hardware (Apple TV, Time capsule, Airport Expresses and Macbook).I am having the same issue, itunes is 'stuck' syncing with my Apple TV for hours and hours, no new content is viewable or playable, yet the previously synced items are still available, as well as my music library and photos.
I've tried rebooting the Apple TV, as well as my Mac, the network is working just great in all other aspects. (airport extreme base station router)
It seems that every time I update to the latest Apple software, I experience problems.
Updated to the latest Safari and my entire network went completely 'screwy' for days then just magically started working fine again. (this happened last time Apple released a new version of Safari)
Now I have the latest itunes, and suddenly this strange sync problem with my Apple TV.
Very frustrating, and equally mysterious how these problems just seem to 'fix themselves' after a few days (sometimes weeks) after updating Apple software. -
How do I use the time capsule to share itunes music between multiple apple devices? Also, is it possible to control the music on one device using another, and how do you set this up?

i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups -

Both me and partner have an ipad 4. Though we only have one computer, can we use the same itunes but with different apple acount without any issues? We use some of the same apps, but my partner plays fx Baldus Gate and is worries that save files will be corrupted.
Each iPad should be linked to its owner's personal, private and nonshared AppleID. In the Mac, each one should have a different login account so each has their own iTunes Library containing your iPad's details. When you use iTunes on the Mac, since each logs in with a different login and corresponding Home directory, iTunes picks up the correct AppleID.

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.

I lived in the US for a few years, spent a fortune on iTunes [my then local Apple ID account]. Now I live in South Africa and want to use Match. I have a local credit card but how do I use my new / 2nd Apple ID and gain access to all my US music??
You have to be in a country to use its store - you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account to be able to use the US store (that applies to buying and redownloading).
You can use iTunes Match in South Africa, do you not have a backup copy of all of your US iTunes purchases so that you can subscribe to it and upload those that aren't in the South African store to it ? -
Why when I try to login the Itunes Connect with my Apple ID it always says: "Apple ID does not have permission to access iTunes Connect."?
Look on one of your bank statements and be sure to enter the billing address exactly as it shows on the statement. Some folks forget where they actually get the statement. They put their home address in iTunes/Mac App Store and they actually get the statement at their place of employment or vice versa.

Why can't you purchase an audio book on the Itunes store from an Apple TV?
Apple seems to be moving everything they sell on Itunes to graphics, away from the traditional text based browse function they started with.
I don't think they've done the most effective job on that move on a PC/Mac, it's sometimes easier just to go through the Apple TV and buy from there and let it just sync and transfer to my Itunes library on my PC.
However, I've noticed that you can't purchase an audiobook from an Apple TV, though you can purchase everything else that can play on an Ipod from there.
Audiobooks just don't show up as an option on the Itunes store from an Apple TV, but they do play on your Apple TV if you purchase them from the Itunes store from the PC or Mac you sync or stream from.
Does anyone know if this is a licensing issue, or yet another oops/oversight on Apple's part? Doesn't seem to make sense, Apple has been pushing tighter and tighter integration between the Itunes store and Apple TV, and it's yet another lost revenue stream on Apple's part that I hope they fix.
If you can buy it from the store, you ought to be able to buy it using your apple TV. Period. Makes as much (non)sense as restricting what content you can purchase if you are buying it from an Iphone vs. a PC vs. a Mac. If you sell content on your store that plays on your devices, then sell it, regardless of which device (that you also make and sell) that your customers access your Itunes store from. It's why they make us sync everything back to Itunes on a computer in the first place.
And yes, while it may sound counter-intuitive to listen to an audio book from a device connected to a TV,
I listen to audiobooks from my Apple TV nightly in my bedroom to go to sleep by, streamed via airtunes to the Aux port on my clock radio by my bed, then turn the TV off and snooze. Works extremely well and has for years now. Beats headphones or futzing with external speakers on an Ipod or trudging upstairs to the room I have my PC in to stream an audiobook to airtunes, then back to bed. With Apple TV, it's pick, click, then turn off the tv and the lights. Sure would be nice to buy an audio book that way also.
Any thoughts on why they would restrict you from buying audiobooks from an Apple TV? To me, it's yet another lost revenue opportunity for impulse buys courtesy of Apple.Send your tv feedback here

I assume you have different iTunes collections on different PC's, or on different logins on the same PC? If that's the case then just enable "Home Sharing" in each iTunes using the SAME iTunes username and password as you enabled home sharing on the Apple TV with. The account used for home sharing is NOT the same as the account used to access the iTunes store, so as long as you use the same account (pick one, doesn't matter which) then you should see both of yor iTunes libraries on the Apple TV. Note - each iTunes has ti be running in order for the Apple TV to see the library.

How do my husband and I share iTunes without sharing an apple id

If above is the case, then I fear you cannot merge the content using now one combined account. Content always belongs to one dedicated account. As well as a iTunes library can only belong to one dedicated Apple-ID. And also the iPhone can only belong to one dedicated iTunes library and also Apple ID (for the store stuff, for iCloud stuff you can use a second ID) -

What I was really trying to find out is if there is a limit on switching iTunes accounts - I have a vague memory of reading that changing from one iTunes store account to another was going to be limited in some way, but maybe this is on iTunes itself? Or perhaps my memory is incorrect? We have two iTunes accounts and swap back and forth regularly on our iPhones and iPads to buy and update apps without a problem. I couldn't find any reference to it on a quick search yesterday so what I have done with the AppleTV is leave it set to one account, and we watched the other account content via my Macbook.

That depends what you mean. If you mean can you purchase from more than one iTunes account on the Apple TV, then the answer is no. If you mean can you stream from more than one iTunes library, which use different accounts, then the answer is yes, so long as they both use the same ID and password for homesharing.
