ITunes 10.6.0.40 doesn't remember my username and password

So I listen to a paid podcast that requires me to log in through iTunes before allowing updates, which WAS all fine and good till I downloaded the current version of iTunes (10.6.0.40).  Now, instead of a "Windows Security" window popping up to request my username and password for this podcast's site, the window appears to be from iTunes itself.  Problem is, it won't remember my username and password like the old Windows Security window used to do.  Before when the request came up, the username and password boxes would fill in automatically, since I'd checked the "Remember password" checkbox.  I could then just click the OK button and iTunes would proceed to update the podcast.  Now, even when I've clicked the "Remember password" checkbox, the username and password boxes in the window are blank every time.  I find this behavior VERY frustrating.
I'm running the latest version of iTunes on my Windows 7 32-bit machine, which is also up to date on patches and fixes.  Am I missing something obvious or is this just broken now?

Amen to that...another "fix" that tagged along with the last upgrade.

  • Firefox doesn't autofill my username and password on Facebook.

So every site I use autofills with firefox's password remembering system, except the oh-so-frequented facebook. Firefox remembers the username and password in the drop down box of the facebook login forms, but I also use a greasemonkey script (AutoLoginJ) that will find the info firefox remembers and automatically press the button to login for me (so essentially when I go to facebook.com, I'm already on my homepage). So in order to use the greasemonkey script, I firefox to be able to remember my username and password. Any help is much appreciated.

  • How do I get Firefox to remember two usernames and passwords for att.yahoo?

Firefox remembers one username and password, does not auto-fill-in the information (which is good), but will not ask to remember the second username and password. How do I get Firefox to remember the second username and password?
I have two e-mail accounts which use the same login page, one account is sbcglobal and the other is yahoo. I would like Firefox to remember both sets of information so I don't have to type all the username and password information for one account.

  • On my 1st visit to a certain website, Firefox _very briefly_ asked whether to remember my username and password. I was too slow: the dialog bar disappeared and now, I cannot find where to enter that logon info for my daily returns to that site.

On only the very first visit to a website, Firefox _very briefly_ shows a "Do you want Firefox to remember this password?" dialog bar at top right of screen.
The first time that I used Firefox to access this particular, and very often visited site, I missed that dialog bar. It disappeared before I had a chance to mark any one of the three boxes and now, I must enter my log-in information anew at every log-on to that site.
There _must_ be a way to get Firefox to give me a second chance for entering this info, but I cannot find how.
    Can someone please help?

After first closing the site's browser window, I cleared the cookies with no problem.
Next, I opened up the page that is causing my problem. The Microsoft Security window opened up as it should and it was blank.
The option of whether I was using a public or a private
computer was blinking on 'public' as it should and I changed that to 'private'.
The lines for 'Domain/Username' and 'Password" were blank, as they should be at this time.
I entered whatever I had to on these two lines, then clicked on "log In". At no time, however, did the Firefox toolbar at top of screen (picture file attached) appear and ask whether to remember that password. Yes, the page now opened - and we are back to Square One.
I am aware that when entering the URL in the address box, a dropdown box opens and contains quite a few URLs identical to the one I am entering just now, or at least connected to pages of the same site.
I am wondering whether that is what's messing me up? But how can I clear these entries of "websites visited in the past from Firefox's memory?

  • Setting up SafePoint on NAS, myCloud doesn't ask for username and password

I couldn't find an answer to this in the forum.  I'm trying to set up a Safepoint on a Synology NAS. I have it configured so that you need a user name and password to access this share the safepoint should go to. When I try to set the Safepoint up in MyCloud it will find my NAS, but will then say "Retrieving Shares", but won't show any.I believe this is where I shoudl be asked for a username and password. Maybe the MyCloud can't see the share because I haven't eneter the credentials yet, but I don't know where else to enter them. I tried it in different browsers in case it's some sort of JavaScript problem, but it also doesn't work in other browsers either. For security reasons I'm not keen on having the share public, without user name and password.  How can I create a Safepoint on my other NAS?

According to the WD My Cloud User Manual it appears that one has to select the NAS where they want to save the share first before they are possibly given a screen where they can enter in a user name and password. See Chapter 11 in particular Steps 3 and 4 under "Creating a Safepoint". Step 4 shows an example of the username/password screen. If the Synology NAS is not being detected by the WD My Cloud user interface then obviously there is either a problem with how the Synology NAS is detected on the local network or a problem with the WD My Cloud detecting specific NAS devices on the local network. It goes without saying that both devices should be on the same local network and have IP addresses in the same IP range. For example both should have IP addresses in the 192.168.1.x range. Edit to add: There are also the following relevent WD Support links:List of NAS drives validated by WD to work as a SafePoint backup for a WD NASHow to create a Safepoint backup of a WD My Cloud drive on another device Edit to add 2: Per this earlier thread that also discusses using a Synology NAS as a backup location for Safepoint, it appears you may have to enable the option "Enable Local Master Browser" in the Synology DSM before the WD My Cloud will see the Synology NAS on the local network.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 (Windows) does not remember ftp username and password

I have seen this problem mentioned in other threads concerning Mac instalations of Dreamweaver, but this is a Windows installation. I recently installed DW CS5, and it refuses to remember the ftp username and password after I quit the program and restart it later. This was never a problem with CS3. It is extremely annoying. Any suggestions?

OK, got it fixed. Even though it said it was pointed to the correct directory in "local site folder" I picked it again and then it said something like "rebuilding cache". and it worked.
    Thanks!

  • Myspace mobile won't remember my username and password

  • I can't get facebook to stop remembering my username and password.

I've already cleared all of my history (pressed ctrl + shift + del and cleared everything, including active log-ins, site preferences, and cookies), I went on the security tab under options and tried deleting all saved passwords, and I've tried restarting the browser, but when I go to the facebook url, it still automatically lists my username and password. I've tried finding another solution, but all people keep saying is to clear history (which I've already done) and change saved passwords under the security tab (which I've already done).
    Are there any other options?

  • I can't access some websites, log in on some websites or have some websites remember my username and password.

Before I asked this question, I went through all the questions and answers and guides that were about problems similar to these but they never worked.
For some websites, it's as simple as not being able to log in. I will enter my account details but it will take me back to the log in page.
Some websites say that they can't 'redirect properly'.
I've looked up the solutions to these problems, but they didn't work. I think I'm experiencing another problem because one of the solutions that I think might work isn't being completed properly. When I try to do the 'use custom settings for history' fix, Firefox never remembers my settings.
The only add-on I have is AdBlock Plus.

  • OS X not remembering network username and password

I have had this problem since starting at my current office. (Over 16 months.)  I inherited a computer from a previous staff person.  Each of my computers have been Macs. (3 different computers in 16 months.)  We are mostly a Mac computer office but our Active Directory and File Server are both Window PC's. BOOO!
Whenever I try to log in to the file server I get the request for the my network user name and password.  The window already has a user name but it's not mine.  It is the user name of a previous user of my original computer (From 16 months ago.).  I say original computer because I now have my thrid computer which I migrated from the first and second one.  I'm sure whatever the problem it is has come along with each migration.
I have looked in my Keychain Access and found the network password item for the file server.  When I opened it my username and password are correct.
So... where do I go from here?  Thanks for your help.

Try deleting it from KeyChain. Also look for any other passwords for other users in the past for this and delete them.
When you log back into the server, password fields should be blank. Put your's in and save it.

  • ITunes keeps on prompting me for username and password

When on the Podcasts page, I press the Refresh button and although I have checked the "Remember my credentials" box.  It actually prompts me for the username and password TWICE for the same site.  The first time it actually does remember the username and password.  The second time it remembers the username but the password is blank.  If I fill in the password, and check "Remember my credentials" - the same thing happens next time I start up iTunes and refresh the Podcast.
I tried deleting the Cookies and the prefs file in the \User\...\Roaming folder, and that did not resolve the issue.

    First, sync all your devices.
Deauthorize your Mac, then authorize it again.
When you open iTunes and attach a device Apple will consider you a new user. You will be told that your device is synced to another account and be asked if you wish to sync to this account. Say yes and tell iTunes to write from the Mac to the device when the opportunity is presented.
After the sync select "Info" from the iTunes tabs and set your sync preferences agein. Then resync.
    The message will disappear.

  • Remember Usernames and Passwords

One website doesn`t remember or offer to remember my username and passwords. It doesn`t present the box "remember password" either. Sometimes after i have logged in and come back later the username and password will appear when i click on the login box, but most times i have to type the details in because it`s not remembered. Any suggestions? Do you have a fix?

Websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.

  • 10.0.01 ver. doesn't sign-in automatically i look up password manager, it seems it saves usernames and passwords, when i visit websites i am not automatically signed in and when i reopen mozilla it keeps on asking main password to sign-in all the time.

10.0.01 version doesn't sign-in automatically... i look up password manager, it seems to it saves usernames and passwords, when i try to visit that website i am not automatically signed in and when i reopen mozilla it keeps on asking main password to sign-in all the time... it happened after mozilla updated itself... please help about it.. (i dont have problems like this in Opera browser)
mozilla fills user name when i click but after that it asks for main password (whats the purpose of remembering passwords if it will ask for main password)
by the way main password for password manager is of course useful but it şs useful whenever i want to use it not all the time i open mozilla .
and not all the time i open a website or forum which i often use...
there were no problems before it updated itself...
    please tell me the solution

my problem is not related with using main password or not...
in former versions of firefox i was automatically signed in to websites without any click... it wasnt asking me to sign-in (because my usernames and passwords were remembered-and saved in password manager)
in this version they are remembered again but i have to write first 2-3 letters of my username and it remembers my username then it remembers password...
for example when i clicked twitter.com my account and my homepage as automatically opened, but in this version when i click twitter.com it opens the sign-in page and i write first 2 letters of my user name it remembers name and password and then i signin
(difference i was at where i want to sign in with one click--- but in new version 1click for webpage-1 click for clicking to username are-1-2 letter writing to find my user name-1 click to remember password-1 click to sign in) an addition: also if i am using main password i am entering main password and click to sign-in
This can be little problem to u, but it is really annoying problem, 9-10 clicks more for each webpage which i wanted mozilla to remember my usernames and passwords... it also asks main password if i am using...
if i want to visit 5-6 different websites it means 70-80 clicks more and 50-60 letters typing according to your main password .. (in opera and mozillas former versions it is just 5-6 clicks)
so main problem is the cookies were remembered in all the sessions but after it updated to v.10.0.1 expiry date of cookies of same websites that i visit are just for one session... it is not related with the websites and their servers that i visit because if so how can Opera remembers all the time...

  • Remembering username and password in an unsigned applet...

Does anyone have any ideas how my unsigned applet could remember the username and password entered by a user?
Previously, I was using a signed applet so could store the username and password in a persistent text file, but now I need to provide an unsigned applet solution - so does anyone have any suggestions for how my applet could remember and recall the username and password?
    Many thanks,
    James

Take global variable and store pass and user name in it .
or getParameter() and setParameter() u can set parameter define in html file as global . so multiple applet in same webpage can access this pass and user name
