Itunes 10.6.1 (7) shows right artwork, ipod does not

This is frustrating me to an unbelieveable degree....
I have a lot of songs on my ipod classic. I am a DJ and certainly love to be able to load as much music as I want on there, however, recently (2-3 weeks ago) I added some new songs on there. When you look at the album art in iTunes, it's perfect, however, not all songs, just some, on my iPod have album art from another album on there. I have cleared the cache on iTunes (again, that isn't the issue) and created a new Album Artwork folder, and rebooted my iPod, but the same thing happens.
It's about as random as you can imagine, it crosses genres, date added and artist as far as randomness, so there isn't a pattern I can distinguish. The closest I've come to a pattern is I notice this has happened with newer songs added, however in one instance I deleted the album that had the wrong artwork, reloaded it, still had wrong artwork, so I removed the album who's artwork it was showing and reloaded THAT album and that still didn't work...any suggestions?

I have the same problem as well. The album cover will show correctly in iTunes, but when I load it onto my iPod touch 4th gen, the album cover shows up as another album on my iPod. For example, I just loaded a song by Seether on there and the album cover showed up as a Beatles cover on the iPod. It is so annoying and I can't find a way to fix it.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

Connect it to your computer and restore it as a new device. Then chose what music you want to sync with it and do so just like your Touch does.

Songs can be removed from your iPhone by tapping 'Songs,' then swiping the song, then tapping Delete.
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

IPod does not show in Finder or iTunes

My 2nd generation Nano won't connect to my Mac. The screen alternates between a screen with a dimmed-out Apple logo, a screen with a message saying to restore using iTunes, and a screen showing a the small charged battery icon and a message saying do not disconnect.
Of course I can't restore it using iTunes, because the computer isn't recognizing the iPod, and not disconnecting seems irrelevant, since it's not connected in the first place. (I've nevertheless left it plugged into the computer for about 3 hours in hopes it might resolve itself, but it doesn't look like it's going to.)
The 3 screens alternate at about 1 second intervals. I've tried resetting the iPod and I've tried connecting with a different computer. When I try to reset with the iPod not connected to a Mac, the screen just goes to black. Then if I try reconnecting the USB, I just get the three alternating screens again. (I have the latest version of iTunes, and the iPod software is up-to-date as well. I'm using Snow Leopard on my iMac and Leopard on my laptop.) I've tried restarting the computer. In fact, I'm out of ideas, so I'd be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions.

Just to let you know, you're not on your own. My 30GB 5th gen iPod is doing the same, but I'm running on Windows XP. Tried everything in the support pages and nothing worked. Tried on my Nano and no problems. Hopefully someone who has had this problem and sorted it will get in touch (fingers crossed)

Itunes freezes when connecting and ipod does not show up

When I connect my nano 3rd gen in windows vista using itunes 9 my ipod does not show up and itunes freezes. the ipod remains with the connected screen and I cannot close out of itunes. Any help would be wonderful... Thanks!!

I have (finally)solved the problem with my iTunes freezing! Here's what I did:
1.I backed up my entire music library to an external hard drive.
2.Then I completely uninstalled iTunes 9 from my computer.
3.After a re-boot I then completely deleted my entire music library. (this can be a little scary so I double checked my music library back up on the external drive)
4.I Googled iTunes 8 and found it at

5. I downloaded it but before I installed it I copied my music library back to my computer. I did not copy everything that was in my original iTunes music folder however, I only copied the music,album art work, applications,games,Tv shoes, and podcasts folders. I placed those folders in a new folder called iTunes on my computer. I did not include any of the iTunes database files eg: .itl / .xml / or .itdb files as these were created in iTunes 9.
6. Now I opened iTunes 8.2 and added all of my music and other media content.
7. Next I attached my iPod nano to my computer. Then Windows automaticly open a window asking me if I wanted to scan for problems or continue without scanning. I had windows scan for problems and once that was done my iPod nano began to sync. Oh what joy!
I think, and this is only a guess based on what I've read here on Apple's discussion pages and my own experience, that there is a problem/conflict or bug with iTunes 9, Windows Vista and the 3rd -4th generation iPod. I will NOT be upgrading to iTunes 9 until Apple has addressed this issue. It seems to me that there are a lot of people having similar issues.

Would someone PLEASE tell me how to get my iPod to show up in iTunes or as disk in Windows Explorer?
According to our PC XP computers, we do not have an ipod and it won't charge when plugged into USB. It worked fine for 10 months until this morning (10/26/06). We have ruled out bad USB drive by using flash drive on that USB and it worked fine. Reseting ipod does not work (ipod does not respond to reset command hold toggle then hold menu + play for up to 10 sec). Reseting ipod within ipod menu does nothing. ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

well i have to be honest, but i don't know if it the vista you use has any significance for this. but you can try.
okay follow:
1: click "start" on the status line on the buttom of your screen.
2: then click on "all Programs" and find "Accessories" and find the "command prompt"
3: Right click with your mouse "command prompt" and click on "run as administrator"
(as you has click'd on "run as administrator", "command prompt" should appear.)
4: when it appears you need to type this "netsh windsock reset"
5: wait for your computer to registrer the command you gave it, and restart your computer.
then erverything should be pretty much as good or better then new.

I plug my ipod into the computer and it does not show up in itunes. It worked when I first bought it 3 months ago and suddenly will not connect...
I have tried other computers as well as rebooting and then connecting but still nothing...

I have a 4 year old 40G click wheel. all was fine until today. now when i connect to my PC i do not hear the audible tone and nothing happens except my iPod turns on but i do not get the "Do not Disconnet" message and my iPod does NOT show up in iTunes. also, it causes my computer to lock up and i have to turn off the computer and reboot just to use my computer. tried reset; tried the disk mode. still not working. it did this yesterday once and i reset my iPod and all was fine. today, that doesn't work. any ideas????

Itunes cover illustrations won't show on my ipod

I've synchronised my brand new 80gb to itunes, but only a small part of the album illustrations that I added in Itunes show on my ipod. I've tried the 'repair' option and synchronised it all over again, but I'm still missing all those pictures.
Has anybody else had this problem?
I could really use some help here...

The message was: the ipod does not support the file format (mp4). Strange, right? All the rest of downloaded music items has been synchronised without any problems. What may be the problem?

For music files purchased via the iTunes Store, Apple has used the following file extensions -
.m4a unprotected AAC format music files
.m4p protected AAC format music files
.m4b protected Audio Books
.m4r unprotected ringtones in AAC format
As you can see Apple have never used .mp4 for music files via the iTunes Store.
For videos Apple use .m4v and these are in H.264 format.
You could try changing the file extension to .m4a, first then see if it plays on your computer and then try re-synching it.

:-) the problem is solved. Thanks to a great typ in one of the other discussions with alt+cmd+S iTunes looks again like something I recognize. After removing the iPod from iMac and also from the connecting "holder", turning it on ad off, rebooting the iMac, maggic happens and the iPod now shows in iTunes and everything works just fine.

Hello - Please help me if you can, my ipod does not show in itunes nor can i update my ipod. Please don't suggest that I update my itunes because i had aloooooooot of trouble with the new itunes 6.0 or greater (something is wrong with that update)and i just lucked into installing the older version which was given with my ipod. My music is there but I can't get my songs - is there any way I can get my songs to go to my ipod with this problem? Thanks for any assistance.
