ITunes 10.6.1.7 stops working in Windows 7
Starting iTunes with my existing iTunes library crashes. I can start iTunes with a new (empty) library and it does not crash. If I try to add any music (Add file to libarary) or go to iTunes store it crashes ("iTunes has stopped working"). I have tried running iTunes in Safe mode with same result. Other things I have tried that have not worked...
Delete all cookies
Restart computer
Run full virus scan (Kaspersky).. no threats found
Uninstall iTunes, download again, reinstall
Uninstall Safari, download again, reinstall
Uninstall QuickTime, download again, reinstall
Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks.
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit and I downloaded iTunes 10.3.1 for Windows 7 64 bit. My Quicktime player is working fine but everytime i tried to open iTunes, it gives me an error message that says iTunes has stopped working. Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder. I had same problem and it's fixed this bug.

I can't seem to get iTunes to shut down without crashing. After closing the program a window pops up that says "Saving iTunes Library..." and then immediately another window below it that says "iTunes has stopped working" and only gives me the option to close the program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and that didn't work. What else can I try?
Exclude your antivirus software's real time scanner from the iTunes folder.

I can't open my Itunes program in my laptop computer with windows 8. the message is "Itunes has stopped working. A problem causess the program to stop working properly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I reboot the machine, Uninstall and re install the Itune program, stilll the same message pops up.
The first thing to try is System Restore to take you back to a point in time when it did work. If that is not successful, create a new user on the computer. log in with that and see if ID will start. This will tell us if the problem is in the system/program or the user account.
If it works in a new user account, see Replace Your Preferences and in addition to replacing the prefs, empty the InDesign Recovery folder that will be in the same location and the InDesign SavedData file. -
for a few weeks i have not been able to access the itunes store from the itunes on my laptop. every time i click on it it tells me it cannot access the store...not sure why. and says this: ITUNES HAS STOPPED WORKING a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify if a solution is available.
I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.

I have the same issue. An iTunes help page (iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues - Apple Support) suggested I hold down shift and control when clicking to open iTunes, which opens iTunes fine for me. That would mean the problem is in the third party plug-ins that work with iTunes. However, the help pages did not say what to do with the plug-ins once I knew that was the issue. The pages said to find the plug-ins and move them to the Desktop, which I did. That's where the help pages stopped, which is ridiculous. Does anyone know what to do from there?

Downloaded 10.5 iTunes and when I put in an audio book to import into iTunes as soon as I begin typing book info notice appears that iTunes has stopped working and windows 7 closes iTunes. Anyone else have this problem? I hate that you have no way to contact these people and report problems. I tried the old feedback but that didn't get anywhere. Please, I've got several audio books to load and I'm not getting anywhere. Thanks

While trying to use my iTunes library it will suddenly stop working with the error message Runtime error R6025 pure virtual function call.
Help???Just responded to this in another thread (note we used Captivate 7 so it might be a different error).
We found that when we created files with embedded swf files that existed ABOVE widgets in the timeline, when someone else tried to open our file it broke/we got the runtime error. The original person could still open it for a time, but eventually the cache would clear and they couldn't.
However, if we ensured swf files are BELOW widgets in the source files, it didn't break. In fact, if we found one that was breaking and got the author to move the swf file on the timeline, it would start working for others.

Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working
Everytime I try and load Itunes it says it has stopped working and when I click on the message it closes the whole program down. I have tried the trouble shoot compatability but it just says incompatible application detected. I am not very tecnical but have tried to uninstall the programs and re install them but with no luck. This problem started after I added a new album but I have now removed it from the computer. Help!
Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):

Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".

I have a toshiba computer and it is windows 7, recently after I installed imatch everytime I open itunes I get the message 'i tunes has stopped working' and windows cannot find a solution and has to close. There is no solution and I don't know how to get the crash information on my computer....can anyone help as I want to finish downloading all my songs to match to be available on my mac products.

Or better yet... try a search, I'm certain you'll find a solution to whatever issue you're experiencing.

ITunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows - Fix??

I had issue after issue with the latest iTunes update (12.1.1) not working on my windows 7. It simply would not lunch when clicking on the shortcut to open.
After a fair bit of searching I found this alternative version which seemed to do the trick and now it works:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - iTunes64Setup.exe(2015-02-18)The "for older video cards" installer - which, like most prior "64 bit" versions of iTunes, is actually a 32 bit application with a 64 bit installer - may be a useful fallback if the full 64 bit version does not install or run correctly. Although 12.1.1.4 is a major improvement over 12.1.0.71, there are clearly still some lurking incompatibilities with some 64 bit Windows systems/components. It is, however, a little misleading to say that "iTunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows" - in many cases it works fine without switching to the alternative version. I have the full 64-bit version of 12.1.1.4 running on three systems - two Windows 7 and one Windows 8.1 - no issues with either installation or operation on any of them.

when i use the external editor function, LR4.1 doesn´t create a psd-file. CS5 will directly open the DNG. With LR4.0 i didn´t have this problem. Anyone here to solve this problem? (VISTA Ultimate)
