ITunes 10.6.1 can't sync!!!

After I upgraded to iTunes 10.6.1 in my MBP with Lion 10.7.3, I can't sync my iPod Nano 5G.
The devices is no seen by iTunes so it's totally ununsable right now... :-(
What are you doing with iTunes, Apple?

The songs on your Shuffle should still be in your iTunes library. That means you should just be able to connect your Nano to the same iTunes library and sync it just as you would with your Shuffle. There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, or iPhones you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
As for preparing the Shuffle for your husband, just restore it via iTunes and then let him sync it to his own iTunes library or if its the same iTunes library, let him configure it to sync only his content.

The other responder gave you a program that will transfer stuff from your iPod to your new computer. You can transfer iTunes purchaces to your new computer by:

After you move your stuff to your new computer you will have to let iTunes erase your iPod and then sync with the stuff that is now in your iTunes library. You will loose app data though.

You cannot merge Apple ID accounts, that has never been supported.
You can contact the Apple ID Security folks per the listing in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and they can help reset security questions and get the account working.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions.

If you add your Windows Media Player songs to iTunes--the songs will stay in the original place on your computer and you only add a file path. This lets iTunes know where to find the songs. This doesn't take up very much hard disk space. The paths are stored in your iTunes folder (which can be found in your My Documents>My Music folder on your hard drive. You can watch this folder to see how big it gets. When you BUY songs from the iTunes store--then the song file will be stored in your iTunes folder on your hard drive. If you buy a lot of music, this folder could get large.
To add song files or folders, go to the top line of iTunes, click File>Add File OR Add Folder and then navigate to the place on your hard disk where you have your Windows Media Files stored.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

Went iTunes 7 to iTunes 6, now iPod can't sync

How do I get around this problem? Can I restore the iPod's firmware without going through iTunes 7 again?
I updated iTunes to 7 (big mistake) and iPod firmware as well earlier today, but now I've gotten rid of the problematic iTunes 7 the iPod won't sync with iTunes 6.

Not unless you have an older updater stored on your computer somewhere (usually in the applications/utilities folder).
There are no standalone updaters now, the latest is included in iTunes 7.

ITunes Help! I can't sync my Ipad Mini Retina to iTunes, it doesn't even come up on the 'choose devices' screen

I can't work out how to sync my New 'Mini iPad Retina'. I am using the USB cable to attach it to my iPad and the other end into my laptop, i have signed in to iTunes, and i choose 'Devices' But it wont pop up anywhere, even waiting for 10 minutes. Any one or a combo may help.
Give your mini a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. Then try again.
Try a different USB port
Try a different cable
Is your iTUnes up to date? If not, update it.
If that doesn't work, (if you're on a PC) go into the control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and give it another try.

You need to transfer your iTunes Library from the old computer to the new one - then you can carry on syncing as normal. You can't move non-purchased music from an iPod to iTunes using iTunes. For purchased music, choose iTunes > File > Transfer purchases...

We have 1 ipod 5, 2 iphone 4s, one computer. Each have own iTunes acct. How can I sync/or download each one to it's own music? I can't plug in one iPhone because it says it's syncing to my acct.

Well not exactly. We've had the same computer for a long time. It started with two ipod 3's. We tried to add a third ipod3 and for some reason were not successful. (it never recognized one of these ipods). Okay, since then we've had an ipod4gen, ( I think I have generations right, not that it matters) anyway, I see in my itunes, that there are three "list" names. However, we now have new devices, an ipod5th gen, and two iphone4s. We don't sync them hardly ever, just plug them into wall for charging. Okay, my daughter(w/ iphone4s) wants music downloaded on hers, and yes as you have already read, when I plug it in it says it's syncing to my iphone. I don't want to mess hers up. So you are saying try to log out of my acct. and log in using her password? I get that part. However at this time I don't have her phone to try this. But like I said, I believe I tried doing that and it still said syncing to my account. So I "pulled the plug". We need three different accounts so they/we can plug in with no hassle from eachothers accounts. This may be a simple fix, but I am not "computer savvy" with this stuff.LOL! I have two macs so I obviously have two itunes libraries. I have purchased things on both my desktop and my laptop UNDER THE SAME ACCOUNT.
How Can I add/sync media from both without having to erase EVERYTHING. So ridiculous.

To share the iTunes content between your computers, just enable Home Sharing from iTunes > File > Home Sharing.
You'll still have to sync the iPhone with just one iTunes library because of the copyright restrictions that iTunes must follow.

ITunes recognizes iPod but can't sync - driver missing?

Here's the rundown. Several months ago, the complete content of the old XP machine where this iPod's library resided was migrated to a Windows 7 Home Premium system using LapLink PC Mover. iTunes had never previously been installed on the Windows 7 unit. iTunes appeared to be functional afterwards, but on the first and all subsequent instances of attempting to sync the iPod, clicking on the Sync button did and still does nothing. I have tried connecting the iPod to multiple different motherboard-based and pcie-based USB ports, and to a USB2.0 external hub. (Sometimes the screen briefly flashes as though it was switching to the sync process monitor, but usually it's just no change.) I've tried uninstalling all of the Apple software from the machine, rebooting, and reinstalling. (When I say "all", that includes iTunes itself, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update, in that order. Trying any other order produced complaints. Quicktime is not installed on this machine; iTunes and the iPod are not used for video.) In looking at the postings of others who have had similar issues, I found a recommendation to reinstall another driver that I have verified is not loading and is not running with the iPod hooked up: Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. I have tried to reinstall this driver, but it hasn't worked. What I have come to suspect is that something in the Windows registry got borked during the transfer, and is causing the load process for the *needed* driver to fail, possibly by trying to load the old XP version. But my registry-fu is not strong in this, so I'm looking to see if anyone else has run across this issue previously and found a solution.
Points to note:
Windows 7, installation was a port from XP via LapLink PCMover
5th gen classic iPod 80Gb with 34Gb free
iTunes version 11.4.0.18 is installed (This was the current version when I started trying to find the problem.)
Apple Mobile Device Support software is loaded.
Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is NOT loading, either before or while the iPod is connected.
In Device Manager, the iPod appears as a Disk Drive and as a Portable Device when connected, but does not appear in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers list.
iTunes recognizes the iPod and can access it sufficiently to verify that it does not need to be updated.
iTunes can eject the iPod.
iTunes cannot sync the iPod.

I can now expand the information somewhat. On my second, very similar setup (5th gen Classic connected to Win 7/32 with iTunes 11.4.0.18) I was able to successfully do the initial sync of the iPod several weeks ago, but this afternoon, when I tried to sync it to include the music I had added recently, it failed in the same manner as the other system. I really, really, really DO NOT want to downgrade to iTunes 12 with it's horrible antinavigation interface and lack of the very useful and needed Sidebar, but it is beginning to look like 11.4.0.18 is problematic, and I don't have an installer for anything else at present.
