Itunes 10.6.1 update
I have tried over 10 times, but there is always an error while trying to update to version 10.6.1, whether I do it automatically or manually. I have an HP, not a mac. What can I do?
Well that's kind of the problem. The error just says "Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download only and try installing manually."
It gives no other information, and therefore running a search has been difficult. But thanks for the frank offer. I've already tried.

hi, for the last 3 hours i ve been trying to install and update itunes to the lates update....before my itunes would open just like i want it to and ever since i tried updateing to the new software my itunes wont open i get a code 2324....i realy dont want to have to put itunes on a diferent computer....please help on what to do to fix this and get my library back cause it wont open....please desperately need help

i have the version of itunes the ios 7 update requires but every time i try to update my phone it says i need the itunes version 11.0.5 but i already have it?
You need iTunes 11.1 which is not available for download in google chrome or other browsers. The only browser it has worked for with me is Safari. Hope this helps!

Everytime i go into itunes and try to update my iPod Touch 4th gen running on iOS 4.3.5 its says i need to be connected to the internet please check it or something like that and as far as i know i have the latest version of itunes
What is the exact wording of the error message?
Maybe this:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall. -
I attempted to update iTunes yesterday. The update failed. iTunes now won't open and displays an error message that the program isn't localized and needs to be run in the English version. I'm in the US and the computer and program has never been used in another language. I tried reinstalling the full download for the new version and that failed as well. I logged out; shut down; restarted; retried the update; etc. Still no luck and the same message. Thoughts?

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process. -
How to prevent iTunes for Windows from "Updating iTunes Library"?
My library is on a NAS and managed by iTunes on a Mac. I can connect from wife's Windows laptop using iTunes for Windows but every time I do, it Updates iTunes Library. Next time I log in from my Mac it Updates iTunes Library in return. It appears I'm experiencing "Update Wars" between the Mac and Windows versions of iTunes. I would like to allow my wife to stream iTunes songs to her new laptop but I don't want any updates from this source... prefer to manage the library from my Mac and not allow Windows to do any thing other than listen to existing playlists.

Under Edit > Preferences > Advanced make sure the media folder is correctly pointed at the media folder on the NAS. If not correct, close iTunes, wait a few moments, then open iTunes again.
Close iTunes on the PC. Do not open iTunes on the Mac.
Copy the library files, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel and the folder Album Artwork into an empty iTunes folder on the PC, for example C:\iTunes.
Click the icon to start iTunes and immediately press and hold down SHIFT. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to the copied .itl file, e.g. C:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
The library should now work properly on the PC, however check the setting for the media folder. If needs be correct, close iTunes and reopen.
Open iTunes on the Mac. It will update again, but that should be last time.

How do I block this msg from always popping up "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari". I cannot download this software bc my lap top is to old. The msg literally pops up everytime I make any moves on itunes and is VERY annoying.

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6. Can anyone help me?
Don't panic. OS X 10.5.8 is the most popular PowerPC OS out there. People run it everyday without security breaches, including myself. It isn't Windows!

How can I resolve error code -54 in iTunes? I am using the latest iTunes. No new updates are available. I'm using iTunes 11.3 on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8. I can't save my library in iTunes, the message just keeps popping up.
From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Although there is no formal list of OSX error code some of the old codes still apply to OSX .)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
Try quitting iTunes, then deleting the .xml (not .itl !) version of the library file in the iTunes folder (iTunes will generate a new one).

Done all the normal updates - iOS5, iTunes 10.5, etc.
As of the middle of June, every time I "like" a song via Ping in iTunes, it no longer updates in my Recent Activity tab in Ping. Any ideas why, or how I can resolve?I don't have a solution, but this is also happening to me. I have contacted iTunes Support but they have been less than useful. I have recently updated the iTunes in order to update both my iPhone and iPad to ISO5.0. unfortunately, after the updated, my iPhone is no longer playing any music. whenever i go to play music on my iPhone it just reverts back to the playlist or it keeps running through song to song. But still, no music is on.
I tried to re-sync the music library, error mesage prop up,
"The iPhone 'xfdsarw' could not be synced because the sync session failed to start"
I delete the iTunes and download it again. Then, I restore my iPhone to the version before ISO 5.0. After, I do the updated again. However, the problem still exists. What should I do? Please advise. I cant believe that iPhone cannot play iTunes!!!!
How come, apple acts like Microsoft? I saw this problem had existed in the developer stages back to the past summer. Then, you guys didnt fix it before the release of ISO 5.0. Hopeless. Before I updated my iPod I had all of the songs to an album that I bought on iTunes. After I updated my iPod I only have 5 of those songs from the album. I would like to know how I can get the rest of the songs cause I already paid for the album and I went on my computer and it said that I have to pay for them even though I already paid for the whole album. Im still having problems een with the latest update 10.5.2 64 bit for windows 7 this is the message below. This is the same error messagege I get when trying to update from 10.5.1 I have uninstalled several times and nothing seems to cure it. Im really getting fed up with it as I have to use an older laptop with XP on it to transfer Itunes info
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

ITunes 10.6.1 Update button for iOS update does not work (a bug)
iTunes 10.6.1 Update button on iOS device Summary / Version page does not update devices. It only checks the iTunes version!
With iTunes 10.6.1, connect an iPad, iPhone, iPod running pre-6 iOS version.
On iPad Summary / Version page, next to [Update] button the message says:
"A newer version of the iPad software is available (version 6.0). To update your iPad with the latest software, click Update."
However, clicking the [Update] button will not start update iPad. Instead it gives you a dialog saying:
"This version of iTunes (10.6.1) is the current version".
Obviously it should start updating the i-device there but instead just goes and check the iTunes version ?!?
A Bug!
What's really annoying in this bug is that it's the only way to update pre iOS 5.x devices, which is now impossible!
Apple should get this fixed asap!

The machine in question is an old macbook, running Leopard (10.5.8), that it will propably never get upgraded.
Since most my older i-devices were initially synced with that particular machine, I'll be now stuck with iOS updates, without loosing content. -
ITunes 10.6.1 Update install problem
I updated iTunes to 10.6.1 and now iTunes does not open. The agreement screen comes up when you try to open it and once you click "I Agree" you then get a pop up from windows saying the iTunes is not responding and that it needs to be shut down. I have reset the computer twice and tried downloading the update again. The 2nd download took like 1 second so I'm assuming iTunes recognized that the update had already been done.
I know I could uninstall iTunes and start over but I will then loose playlists that are not backed up on other devices. Any tips or ideas. This is the 2nd iTunes update that has caused me problems. This suprises me because Apple always seems to have their poop in a group.
