ITunes 10.6.3.25 only opens with admin privileges

A few days ago I tried to open iTunes, but for some reason it didn't. There was no error displyed nor anything shown. I've searched the web but I didn't find any solution. The only way I found to open it is by giving it admin privileges. I also tried unistalling every Apple program I have, but there's no solution.
I'm running Windows 7 32-bit (that is up to date) and iTunes 10.6.3.25 (I guess it's up to date).
What's wrong?

I downloaded the Kindle app on my iPad1 tonight, logged into my Amazon.com account and was able to download the books I had bought on my Kindle to my iPad! I am a VERY HAPPY CAMPER!

i do have the users set via POSIX as the group owner (all users are in the assigned group).
i have propogated the permissions as well.
i did alter the access pane to make it so all could use AFP.
i tried making it restricted and adding all groups and users to no avail.
i feel it's something pretty silly i'm missing.
any advice would be appreciated.

Two possibilities spring to mind -
1. The Service security settings may not allow users to connect, look in Server Admin, click on the Access icon at the top, check the security settings for the AFP service.
2. ACLs (Access Control Lists) override the POSIX security settings, and Leopard and Snow Leopard much prefer using ACLs (Tiger like POSIX better). If no ACLs are defined for a directory then the POSIX permissions apply.

I am having the very same problem with iTunes, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and started having the problem after the latest update. I just upgraded to the new 5s and was syncing everything to it, so I figured that I would update my itunes software as well. Which I never do after updating one time and had trouble with it on my old laptop and had to rollback to a older version of itunes. I have tried every suggestion that has been posted in the Apple Discussion area and on other websites no luck what so ever. I figured I will wait till Apple comes out with another update and try again. In the post above I am having the exact problem with iTunes. I'd love to know what thef-ing problem is because this is extremely annoying!

Firefox won't open links from Outlook when FF is started with admin privileges

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
I usually start Firefox from a toolbar (PowerPro) which runs with admin privileges. Thus Firefox starts with admin privileges too. Under this condition links in Outlook won't open in Firefox.
But if I start Firefox with normal privileges the links in Outlook works as expected.

Under Tools > Options > Advanced look to see if the "check if Firefox is default browser on startup" Check this and then restart FF. If it isn't the default it should ask if you want to make it the default. Choose yes and it should open when clicking links again.

Why can't I find a way to make my mail acct. only open with a password?

I want to make it so when I click on my Mail icon on the dock it prompts to type in a password rather than just having the mailbox pop open with all my mail there to read. This has got to be simple??

OS X is a multi-user operating system. Every user can have their own account that only they can access. If you want to keep your email private simply create another user account for others to use. Keep your own account private. But to answer your question directly, no, there is no option to require a password when opening the Mail application when other people are using your account.

Firefox only opens with blank page regardless of any websites I go to.

I've tried re-installation, but to no avail. Even updated to the latest version to ensure that I don't miss out on anything. Nothing I've tried could work, I've restarted the computer for about 6 times and I think the only alternative left is for me to reboot my system, because evidently, the same problem persists in my IE as well. Only my Google Chrome and Opera seems to be working fine.
This problem happened after I installed the automatic updates on windows, I've tried uninstalling the update too, but it just opens with a blank page.
On a sidenote, my G-Mail account has been continuously hacked by an IP address in UK from January till now. Do you think that's relevant? I'm sure I didn't download any malware/spyware nor key in any login creditentials.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, maybe after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Youtube videos only open with quicktime--small screen/no audio. Flash works with Safari, not Firefox.

I've updated flash, reset Firefox, restarted Mac. Youtube videos will not load with Flash. They open with Quicktime in a 1x2 inch box of low res images with no audio.

Open up your preferences/Options and open up applications. From here check the preferences for youtube files. In about:permissions you can check the preferences for youtube.com as well.

You need to transfer your iTunes Library from the old computer to the new one - then you can carry on syncing as normal. You can't move non-purchased music from an iPod to iTunes using iTunes. For purchased music, choose iTunes > File > Transfer purchases...

Itunes 10.5.1 doesn't open with windows 7 64 bit

1. First check if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
MSCONFIG
Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
Restart Windows.

Applications only open with Unix Executable File!

Safari and three other applications hang.
I've tried a bunch of tricks to get them working right with no real success.
I can run Safari (and others) by opening the Unix Executable File in the .App bundle!?
*Can anyone explain to me why this works?
The applications also open fine in Safe Mode.

Afer lots of struggling with this, I finally rebuilt Launch Services with OnyX and all is well again.
Probably my fault for messing around with the FileSystem to often experimenting with this and that.
With any luck this might hlep someone else too!

Itunes 7 only runs with Admin permissions

I have just upgraded itunes to 7.0 on my Win XP professional machine.
If I am logged in as administrator, iTunes runs without problem.
But if I try to start it as normal (power) user, I get the error message
"itunes cannot run because one of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes."
Re-installing (that is repairing) itunes as user, does not help.
My previous itunes version was 6.0 and I had no problems.
Any ideas?

mog67, similar things to that can sometimes happen if the other user accounts don't have the right permissions on the QuickTime keys in your Registry.
the stejskal family pioneered the treatment for us:
the trick for me was getting up the nerve to "fiddle" with the registry...the reason why the girls could not get access to iTunes/QT was down to permission...once I got one going I went back in to HKEY-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\apple computer, inc\Quicktime...click to highlight go to edit, permission and added the missing girls to the list of who is allowed...made sure they have full permission..apply, ok and "bobs your uncle" all is now well in stejskal home.
