ITunes 10.6.3 fails to install

Hi, Just given my son a fourth generation iTouch which requires a iTunes update to 10.6.3, this fails to install quoting error "Microsoft.VC.80.CRT.type="win32" etc.. full error message in attached pic. His laptop is running Windows 7 64bit AMD, can anyone help?
thanks in advance.

I get a message telling me that a netwrk device is unavailable and asks me to locate the windows installer file, itunes64.msi (or similar)
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes sync- fifa 13 failed to install

i have ipad 2 GSM jailed (6.1.3) i have downloaded FIFA 13 (latest version) in my computer, but when i sync FIFA 13, this message pop-up  during the installation process on  ipad "itunes sync- FIFA 13 failed to install" other apps installs successfully..... iv also used programs like ifunbox, itool to install FIFA 13 but still it doesn't install...i hav also installed the same FIFA 13 in my ipod touch 4g...it installs successfully and it is working, it only doesn't work on my ipad

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • ITunes 10.5 keeps failing to install - missing components

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help me - I went to upgrade to 10.5 (64-bit). Initially I was told that it failed to install properly and I would have to manually install the different components (yeah I'm a tech-moron), which I tried to. But they kept failing to install.
So I uninstalled iTunes. And I then re-installed. But this is now now working.
I keep getting a dialogue box telling me that "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes, Error 7 (windows error 126)" or words to that effect.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do. This is especially urgent for me as my 4S is in the post! And yeah, like I said I'm a moron about stuff like this so step-by-step assistance would be really appreciated. Thanks!

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end.  Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
    1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
    2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually, and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.
Great work everyone who contributed!  Thank you very much!

Whenever I drag the ipa into itunes and hit sync, my iphone has a message that says itunes sync <appname> failed to install. The app appears on my phone is half way finished installing and then this error pops up. please help.

Recreate your Mobile provisioning files. Make sure that while creating the MP files, you have not enabled for iclould and have checked your device to be included in the Mobile provisioning file.

  • Itunes 7.4.2 fails to install

    Hey guys
I'm pretty annoyed. I got a new ipod nano and have to upgrade to the new itunes, which I have tried to do for a few months because it has been failing to install.
The installer opens, gets my password and everything, but the minute it actally begins to install the whole thing shuts down without giving me any reason why. It does the same thing if I go through "software update" in system prefrences to download any apple program updates.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Ok here is the log for the error

  • Can't install iTunes due to Quicktime failing to install

I'm on Vista (sad face) and over the past couple months iTunes has worked on and off...working and then I get an error saying "iTunes has stopped working" and then I have to mess with everything uninstalling/installing to get it working again.
However last week, when it happened I uninstalled iTunes and then attempted to uninstall Quicktime but it would not remove Quicktime off the list even after restarts. Then I ran the newest iTunes + Quicktime installer and it just goes until it gives me and error saying "The installer encountered errors before the requested operation for Quicktime could be compleated" and takes me to the complete box saying try again later. So the problem is with Quicktime because it won't uninstall/install and thus I can not install iTunes.
I have tried using the stand-alone Quicktime installer and have gotten the same error. I have also tried Apple Software Updater and no dice. I am getting very frustrated nothing seems to work and I need to update my iPod! Please help!
    Thanks!

+I finally got QuickTime uninstalled (it wouldn't give me errors uninstalling, it just wouldn't uninstall) via Windows CleanUp Utility.+
After you used CleanUp, did you manually remove any leftover QuickTime program files?
If not, let's run through a CleanUp routine again.
Run CleanUp and remove the QuickTime entry.
    1. On the Start menu, click Computer.
    2. In Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If “Hide filename extensions for known file types” is enabled on the PC, then those two files will appear as “QuickTime” and QuickTimeVR”.)
    7. Restart your computer.
Next, we'll try to get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
Switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
Go into "Uninstall a program" in your Control Panel (assuming here that you don't have Classic View selected) and select itunes. click "Repair" up at the top of the control panel screen.
If the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. Does it launch properly now?

  • ITunes 11.0.5 fails to install on MacBook air

iTunes got deleted from my Mac, and whenever I go to start a fresh install (either from the App Store or the .dmg file from Apple) I get the 103 error (in the App Store) and installation faulire in Installer. I have tried many solutions, including deleting the update files in /Library/Update and repairing disk permissions. iTunes is a part of my daily routine, so any solutions to help get it running would be appreciated!

Download it from the site (not the App Store) http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
And run it from your downloads folder "Offline" (disconnect from the Internet so the App store can't connect). Once it's done, reconnect then:
    Quit App Store (if running)
    Start iTunes
From "Store" menu, select "Authorize This Computer". You'll be prompted for your login credentials, then get a message that the computer is already authorized.
    Start App Store
From "Store" menu, select "View My Account". You'll be prompted for your login credentials, then your account details will be displayed.
Go to "Updates" tab on App Store. This time it should work with no errors.

It gives me no other information or any reasons. Does anybody know what I need to do?

I got a similar problem. I downloaded Mass Effect: Infiltrator and synced it to my iPhone via iTunes but then I got a  pop up saying that installation failed. I tried different ways to install it again but still having the same problem. I am now downloading it again through Wi-Fi but it is stuck on loading.
I also did a hard reset and tried restoring from backup and then install it again but still having the same problem. Is it happening to EA games only??? I never had such problem with any other apps/games.
    Can anyone help plz.

Itunes wont open and when re-installed received this msg: Service Apple mob device failed to start.  You have insufficent privileges to start system svc.  Help?

Download Itunes from Apple.com, not from within Itunes.
Redo the install, following the below procedure.   However, when you re-install Itunes,  right click and run the install as administrator.   For Win 7, you have to hold down the cntrl and shift keys when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Vista, Win 7 & later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Why do I keep having an app that fails to install, after syncing with iTunes on my computer?

One or two months ago, I purchased EA's game 'Need for Speed Most Wanted', when it was on special for $1.29 NZ. I downloaded the app onto my iPod touch (4th generation 8GB), and later synced the app with my computer. A few weeks later I deleted this app from my iPod to free up some space (this is around a 1.8GB app by the way). In the past few days I have tried syncing this app from the computer to my iPod. Every time I sync, the app loads fine, and starts installing for a few minutes, but then comes up with a message saying: 'Most Wanted' failed to install. If I try syncing the app several more times, I then get a message saying: 'Unable to Download Item. The operation couldn't be completed (SSMobileInstallationErrorDomain error -402620393.)'. I am using a Windows 7 laptop with the latest version of iTunes. My iPod is running iOS 6.1.3. I have two apple id's, the first being signed in on my laptop, and the second being signed in on my iPod. The id's are both authorised with the laptop, and my iPod is associated with both id's as a device. I don't think this would have contributed to the problem though. This has become very frustrating! Can anyone please help?

How much free storag do y have on the iPod? I would try freeing up more and try syncing again.
If your country allows redownloading app, then delete the app from the computer and redownload and sync
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Try redownloading directly to the iPod. Note you wil need about 5.4 GB free on the iPod.
    See:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
Contact the developer/go to their support site if only one app.
    Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
