Itunes 10.6.3 for Win 7 64 bit

Downloaded itunes 10.6.3 for Windows 7 64-bit.  After (re)installing, I still can't open the itunes program.  I've tried uninstall/install 3 different times.  Same results.

Did all that and still nothing, I have:
I installed/uninstalled numerous times for itunes and quicktime.
Deleted the SC files
Ran repair on both itunes and quicktime.
Checked microsoft fixit.
Shut down or restarted multiple times throughout this process.
iTunes still appears to be running the 32bit version even though the installer is called the 64bit version. I only see the process for itunes when attempting to run in safe mode ctrl+shift and the message box pops up. There has only ever been one account on this computer but I make sure to show all processes when looking for itunes.

  • When installing itunes 10.5.1 for win 7 64 bit get message that installer is 32 bit.

Atempted to install itunes 10.5.1 for Win 7 64 bit. Receive dialog box that the installer is 32 bit. Points me to an address in Apple for Bonjour Print Services for Windows. After clickin on OK the install proceeds but Itunes will not start.
Itunes has also reformated the library so an older version of itunes can nolonger read the file.

I got the same message about the network resource that I can't access.  The only difference is that I couldn't install Itunes 10.3 because I can't remove the old version of Bonjour.  I couldn't get rid of anything in add/remove programs, but I went into my program folders and deleted everything that had to do with Itunes.  I also ran a Windows Cleanup Utiltiy.  Nothing will work.  I still can't remove Itunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, MobileMe Control Panel, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, or Apple Software Update in add/remove programs because they are on a network resource that I can't access even though I deleted them from the program folders.  This is very frustrating!

Doublechecking. What's the filename of the installer you've been downloading? (The 32-bit installer is called iTunesSetup.exe, and the 64-bit installer is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)

  • Download fail: iTunes 10.5.2 for 64-bit Windows 7

Two days trying to download 10.5.2 for 64-bit Windows 7 and every time I download it fails and times out.  Anyone have a similar issue and know a work-around?  I've tried multiple computers, multiple re-boots and saving to multiple locations including an external thumb drive.  Is it possible to email the executable file?

Thanks for getting me to the troublemaker ArielK.
I can confirm disabling APSDaemon.exe, aka, new Apple Push for WiFi Sync and renaming (or deleting if you are more risk oriented) APSDaemon.exe and APSDaemon_main.dll in this folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" resolved my issue.
Alternatively, another slightly more annoying but less techy workaround for those nervous about changing filenames is to start iTunes in Safe Mode every time.  You must do it via Programs > iTunes > hold down Ctrl-Shift then click iTunes (does not work if you do it by clicking a short cut in programs list or taskbar, whatever...).  Maybe this disables WiFi Sync by default, dunno.  Don't care at this point, but it seemed to work.
I can live without WiFi Sync for now, but its a nice feature I would really like to use in the future.
    Apple please fix!!!
Running: Windows 7 Home Premium x64, iTunes 10.5.2.11.

  • ITunes for 64 bit Windows

Is there a special version of iTunes with QuickTime Player for 64 bit Windows PCs?

Yes for iTunes. Here's a link to the 64-bit installer for 10.6.0.40:

No for the QuickTime Player ... it's 32-bit and on 64-bit systems runs on the Windows-on-Windows-64 subsystem.

Are you using the 32 or 64 bit version? There are two versions of iTunes. One is for 64 bit processor architecture, one is for 32 bit processor architecture.
Please download the 64 bit version and test it! In my view you try to install the 32 bit version.
    Kind regards!

EDIT: I am sure you currently try to install the 32 bit version! It doesn't work on a 64 bit system. Are you sure that you use Windows with 64 bit?

Has anyone not been able to get the iTunes installer to load properly and get a message like this: This iTunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows. Yes, it's come up a number of times. If you look to the right under "more like this", you'll find threads that may offer useful suggestions.

  • What version of iTunes can I download for Windows Vista, with a QuickTime player that won't crash Windows Explorer?

I have tried installing both iTunes 10.4.1 and iTunes 10.3.1 for 64-bit Windows Vista.  They both install well, but my Windows Explorer crashes as soon as I open either of them.  I have to 'hit the emergency brakes' and hold down the power button on my laptop to stop the meltdown.  After reading other people's threads, I realized that the problem is QuickTime 7.  I still need to find out, however, if there is a 64-bit Vista version of iTunes with QuickTime 6 or lower that can still be downloaded from the Apple website.  I really like iTunes, and I have done without for about two years now.  Please help!!!

  • I run Win 7 (64-bit) on a Core i7 PC. iTunes always worked fine on Win XP, but now it will usually not recognise or display a CD for me to import. I have followed the suggestions on the iTunes site and my CD/DVD reader/writers are fine.

iTunes always worked well for me in Windows XP, but now I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit) and iTunes usually won't display the CD's contents, won't access Gracenote and won't import. Occasionally, for no apparent reason, it all works as it should.
I have reinstalled iTunes, checked and updated all drivers, turned off (and on) the "Use error correction", checked and verified that my CD/DVD burner/writers are connected and working fine - and still, occasionally it works but mostly it doesn't.
I can get around the problem by using another program (dBpower AMP Converter) to convert all tracks on the CD to Apple Lossless format and save them to "Automatically add to iTunes", and then manually inputting all the music track information in iTunes; but this is cumbersone even if effective, and it annoys me that iTunes seems to have this common glitch that should have been corrected by now.

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

I am unable to backup my iphone 5 iOS 6.0.1 (connected directly to laptop USB) with my itunes 11 for Win 7 64bits. The process starts and fails to complete giving the error: itunes could not complete backup of iphone because iphone disconnected.
I have restarted the PC, the iphone, changed the lightining cable and nothign resolves it: backup never completes.

Hi, I disabled the antivirus and the firewall. Same result
I even deleted the backup folder inside C:\Users\...\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to eliminate any corruption in the old backup files.
Nothing changed: Session either times out or i get the same error message: itunes could not back up iphone because iphone disconnected. It always happens during step 3 out of 4 which is "transfering purchased apps from iphone to PC" and comes after step 2 which is backup.
My iphone 5 is not jailbroken, and is a factory unlocked phone.
    Any other suggestion?

  • Having issues installing iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 7 (64 bit).

Issues installing iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows 7 (64 bit). This install clobbered my previous version of iTunes. Error message is "service Apple Mobile Device failed to start". Cannot start the service manually even though I am the administrator of the machine. There is obviously some conflict that was recently introduced by a Windows update or in the Apple installation. I have tried removing iTunes and the AMDS (the Apple mobile device service) and reinstalling with the same error message.
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide!
    Marilyn

    Hey there Marylin,
It sounds like you are unable to start iTunes due to this error message even after uninstalling the iTunes application and the Apple Mobile device. I would recommend uninstalling not just those 2 applications but iTunes and ALL its associated applications with the following article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
