ITunes 10.6.3 freezes

For whatever reason, this problem does not seem to affect iTunes on my Macbook Pro, but it's made iTunes on my iMac effectively inoperable:
Listening to a podcast, or moving the scrubber on a podcast while listening to it, frequently causes the entire system to freeze up. This seems especially true when other podcasts are downloading. I can still move the cursor, but it's a spinning beach ball, and nothing, not even the dock, is responsive anymore, forcing me to hard reboot the computer.
This problem began happening sometime before the present 10.6.3 version came out, and continues to happen.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? Since it only happens on my iMac, not my laptop (both of which use OS 10.6.8), I'm hopeful that there's something that can be done on my end apart from waiting like a cargo cult for another iTunes update.

Seriously, don't worry, somebody in the Apple Discussions Community will help you figure out what the problem is! I promise.
You see, one of the main reasons why Apple Products are easy to love is because of all of the kindhearted, kindred folks here who enjoy helping others. I try to help too, but I never get any points. My heart is in the right place though.
I don't actually have an iPhone myself BUT I know that sometimes when I connect with iTunes online, that there is a lag while the "Genius" is "analyzing my iTunes library". Perhaps that could have something to do with it?

Itunes 10.5.2 freeze when starts on windows 7 home premium 64 bit

I've uninstalled, restarted then installed again the 64 bit version of Itunes and it keeps freezing even in safe mode, there is no way that I can sync my iPod touch 4g to my computer. Is there any other .exe file that I could install to make itunes work on my computer or will i have to wait for the next update that will come out in a while I guess.

ITunes 10.3.1 freezes when I try to delete files I have ripped from my own CDs.

I am in the process of updating a number of CDs that I ripped at 128kbps with rips at 256kbps. When I delete the 128kbps files most of the time iTunes 10.3.1 freezes with the spinning beach ball. The files are in the trash but I have to force quit iTunes. When I restart iTunes, the deleted files are still visible and playable and I can know delete these without any issues.
I have tried turning off my external OWC Mercury Pro Blu-ray/DVD/CD burner but this has no effect.

I have the same issue. I took it the genius bar and called talked to tier 2 phone support. They have standard thing where you uninstall all apple software in a certain order and then reinstall 64bit itunes. That did nothing (tried it 4 times).
I've gotten two clues so far.
One is that at the store if I plug someone else's iphone 4 in then itunes acts the same way. So it is not the phone. Two is tier 2 phone support told me to try syncing it with a fresh user account (an admin one). I did that and itunes was just fine, it did not freeze.
So there appears to be some conflict with the software, music files, whatever that is on my current user account (also an admin account). I ran virus and malware detectors and found nothing. Now I'm going to try putting my music, movies, apps, etc in the new user account and see if the phone will sync then.
I know its not much but thats where I'm at. I hope it helps.

ITunes 9.0.1 freezes

iTunes 9.0.1 freezes when starting. I had 9.0 and everything worked fine. Did the upgrade to 9.0.1 and now iTunes freezes. Help anybody.

And what if you purchase or redeem itune cards for purchasing songs, do you still need to register a credit card, this seems lame. I recently bought my father an iPod Nano 5th gen. We got about 5 CD's properly imported on iTunes 9 when I was showing him how to import and sync his device. However, soon after I 'cut him loose' he reported a problem with the iTunes freezing and causing trouble for the rest of the computer. I've replicated the symptom and have done an evening of searching with no avail. I upgraded to v10 with the problem persisting. Here is the progression of how to replicate the symptoms...
1. start computer/itunes
2. insert cd
3. click yes when asked "would you like to import this CD"
4. iTunes begins importing, but freezes on the first song with less than 1/16 completed. iTunes no longer responsive
(5.) Can CtrlAltDel and shut down iTunes, but other functions remain inactive (starting new programs, shutting down, etc... computer needs hard restart)
(6.) Can replicate with 3 other CD's. Stopped trying after this.
(7.) Can successfully rip via Windows Media Player and drop and drag into iTunes. To me, this proves correct working order of CD rom drive and general windows software.
Alternately, iTunes will freeze when simply trying to play off of a CD within 5 seconds of playing the song.
I have tried operating with the "Use error correction when importing CDs" unchecked, yielding no different results.
Please advise, thank you in advance!!!

3g Nano causes itunes/My Computer to freeze...

My nano is 2 weeks old and works fine by itself. The nano connects and charges fine. As soon as it does, though, itunes and my computer freezes and become unusable. It doesn't show up in itunes and sometimes will show up in my computer as a portable device. I've gone through the 5 R's, reinstalled itunes twice , tried disk mode, different USB...nothing works.
Any possible ideas?

I just wanted to add that I can use itunes all by itself to manage/listen to my music. My nano also works flawlessly. I keep reading that itunes 7.6 is causing a lot of problems. If anyone from Apple acutally reads these hopefully a newer version is on its way to fix the bugs.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

ITunes 7.6 Keeps Freezing!

i just upgraded to 7.6, after having numerous problems with 7.5. now i still have all of the problems of 7.5 (burning/importing very very slow), but now, itunes 7.6 keeps freezing for like 30 secs, about every other minute. its INCREDIBLY annoying. anyone got any tips on how to fix this?
example: when i right click on a song, the menu doesnt pop up for 30 secs, and if im listening to a song, the track time will freeze for about 30 secs.

Are you saying that Bonjour is what's causing your system to freeze or are you just noticing that Bonjour was installed with iTunes 7.6?
Sharing of music between computers on the same network (i.e. people on the same router) has been part of iTunes since iTunes 4.1 which was the first version that ran on Windows. The difference being that in previous versions Bonjour was compiled into the application, making the iTunes application bigger and now it is a separate external service.
Bonjour is currently required for a number of features in iTunes. (1) sharing between local computers, (2) remote speakers or sharing between your computer and your stereo, and (3) Apple TV or sharing between your computer and your TV. iTunes has and will continue to ship technology (like Quicktime) that it needs to make its features work.
Nothing is being (or has ever been) sent back to Apple or any Apple server via Bonjour network connections.

2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close App
4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
