ITunes 10.6 issues, artwork, etc.

Issues I'm having with the past couple iTunes updates:
I can't cycle through artwork on songs that have more than 1 image embedded in metadata. I used to be able to click arrows to cycle through the images.
I can't click the scroll bar to change my position in a list. I can click and drag up or down, but I used to be able to click any spot on the scroll bar and it would take me to that part of the list.
When dragging art to desktop, the program leaves 2 copies of the image....huh?
iTunes erases downloaded artwork for an album when some album tracks are deleted instead of keeping art for all tracks.
If itunes is opened without an internet connection, it will not retrieve artwork once a connection is established. The program must be closed and reopened.
When I make an "On-The-Go" playlist with my iPod Classic, iTunes creates an extra, blank "On-The-Go" playslist upon syncing. ?
Sometimes iTunes assigns the wrong artwork for songs on my iPod Touch.
I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues, if they might be addressed in the next iTunes update, or if anyone has solutions to these problems.

I'm starting to think these issues are related to my OS version. I'm guessing these sorts of bugs aren't important to fix if they only happen in Leopard.
No one has any comments?

I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
Please fix!

ITunes Screensaver cannot find artwork

iMac 24", i5
Lion
all software updated
iTunes screensaver says the library does not contain any artwork.
In iTunes, I have 33,000 tracks, all with artwork (not one exception)
Architecturally, the setup is traditional, though the iTunes Media file is on a second drive.
The Album Artwork folder's Cache subfolder is 2.7 Gig and located in the traditional:
Users/name/Music/iTunes/ spot
This issue also existed under Snow Leopard and I could never find a way to resolve. I was hoping the shift to Lion, with it's new iTunes screensaver would resolve this.
Just so you know, I took the complete contents of the Users/name/Music/iTunes folder and put it on my laptop, replacing everything that was there. The iTunes screensaver still worked fine on my laptop, thus pointing to some issue still on my iMac that I embarrassingly can't decipher.
Any and all suggestions welcomed, as the updated screensaver is now extra cool and would love to get it working.

I have just purchased a new Imac running 10.8 mountain lion, after loading new songs into itunes I too had no screen saver working showing the art work.
This had nothing to do with voice memos, no other items were connected so have tried this method and it works twice on both computers, the other is running leopard.
If all your music is on the main hard drive, check in finder and your itunes folders should be in music, all I did was make a new folder and call it music 2, make sure its under music on the left hand side, drag the itunes music folder containing only the music into this. From this go to itunes in applications delete itunes into trash, restart computer then download the latest version. When all opened up you should get a home page showing get music from icloud or scan for media, press scan and let the new version find it on your computer, when finished go to screen saver settings and notice the itunes screen saver working.
I don't know why this works either its a software fault with apple or just my luck, but I have had no problems since and looks greats on the screen.

FYI! Intego NetBarrier X5 and iTunes App Store Issues

I discovered last night (while attempting to download the iPhone 3.0 update) that my 3rd party firewall, Intego's NetBarrier X5, is preventing App Store application and iPhone software updates.
Back in early March, I upgraded NetBarrier from X4 to X5, importing my settings from the old version into the new. From that point on, I have been unable to update my iPhone applications from within iTunes; I was caught in an endless loop of being asked to log into the App Store, and being denied access (almost as if my credentials weren't making it to Apple's servers). The weird part was, I had no problem downloading music, movies, etc. from the iTunes Store; this issue only affected App Store downloads/updates.
I do not know if this is a problem with Intego or an Apple. I'm inclined to believe that something changed within iTunes 8; a change to the ports used to access the App Store, as opposed to the regular iTunes Store. I say this because, when I turned off NetBarrier completely, I was finally able to access/download my application updates after months of not being able to. As soon as I turned it back on, I got caught up in that endless login loop again. This is definately an issue.
I post this information in the hope that it will resolve similar issues for others. iTunes Support, when contacted numerous times, was completely useless.
It appears that I'm going to have to configure my firewall to allow ALL iTunes traffic to pass. Can someone please tell me where I can find a comprehensive list of ports that must be open for iTunes to function properly? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello Everyone,
After upgrading to Snow Leopard, and re-installing X5 (10.5.4), it looks like I may have identified the cause of this issue.
It appears that, within X5, if you select the "+Hide my Apple ID when using iTunes MiniStore+" option (Overview --> Privacy --> Data --> Surf), it jacks-up connections to iTunes Store App/iPhone OS Updates.
For now, I have de-selected this option, and everything seems to be functioning as it should.
I cannot believe that something as stupid as this has caused me (and countless others) so many months of aggravation. I will be reporting this as a defect to Intego later today.

Mp3s in iTunes lose their album artwork

Here is a weird problem I have been noticing lately. Certain mp3s on my iPhone suddenly don't have their artwork anymore even though I know that I downloaded them in iTunes. When I go back and examine these mp3s in iTunes, I see the artwork in the big artwork window above the song listing. However, when i right-click those same mp3s in iTunes and click "get information" the artwork is GONE in the in summary and artwork tabs. Reimporting the artwork, either manually or via iTunes, fixes the problem, at least temporarily.
Question is, why does iTunes display the artwork when it is not in the mp3? And how do you get iTunes to HOLD ON to that artwork PERMANENTLY? I don't want to go back and keep redownloading over and over again. Has anyone else experienced this bug?
Just to clarify, these aren't mp3s for iTunes is unable to find artwork. Many of them you can dload the artwork through iTunes, some require manual importing. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which mp3s are affected.

No, itunes has issues with frame length using v2.4. A later release is usually considered better, but in this case, I'd stick with v2.3.

Don't want iTunes to download Album Artwork

Hi all,
Since I add all the album-artwork by hand (and include it in the mp3-file) I don't want iTunes to download the artwork automatically.
So I think i made all the neccessary settings
(unchecked the 'Automatically download missing album artwork' option in the 'preferences/Store' tab)
, and cleaned the 'iTunes/Album Artwork/Cache/' and 'iTunes/Album Artwork/Download/' folder.
But today I noticed that after start of iTunes, there already/again where folders/files in the 'download' folder, these takes unnecessary disk-space etc, so how can i prevent/enable this?

It sounds like you have multiple devices all exhibiting this issue where all the thumbnails in the iTunes Store are blank, but it otherwise loads. I would take a look at the Wi-Fi settings of the router to see if it are setup with the recommended options for iOS and Mac OS X:

If the issue persists, you should also test the device(s) with another Wi-Fi connection to help isolate it further.

Have you tried disconnecting and re-connecting to your network ?. And when you say rebooted do you mean a reset ? If not then try that : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing those apps completely. From the home screen (i.e. not with any of those apps 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes, App Store and iBooks apps to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

If the old laptop was a mac also, then use your Time Machine backup to restore you user settings and files.

Remove and re-install iTunes. This has no affect on the media that is stored on the computer.
That being said, depending on what was done, it may also be necessary to restore the iTuneslibrary.itl file from the backup of the computer.

I have blurry artwork in Album View thumbnails. Deleting the cache makes all the artwork sharp, but once iTunes is restarted, the artwork goes back to being fuzzy unless i delete cache again.

I can't say it's a problem I've noticed personally, though now you've made me look it does seem that the large thumbnail is slightly fuzzier than the same image in the artwork panel. I have the artwork panel as small as it goes (small screen) and it is still slightly larger than the image in the browser so that might be all there is to it.
Here's an example from my screen.
Perhaps iTunes is storing a thumbnail at say "medium" size which it then blows up to create the large image. Are you seeing a similar effect or is your "fuzzy" art much fuzzier? A screenshot would be helpful.
