ITunes 10.7 (21), iOS6.0.1 (iPhone 4), Snow Leopard (10.6.8), Not Syncing

Hello Forum,
Please help, I am now really pi$$ed off with this.  Every time Apple "upgrades" their OS or software I am getting syncing issues.
I have tried the following:
Disabled iCloud on my iPhone.  No joy.
Connected via the USB cable.  No joy.
I have now got duplicate events on my iPhone that do not exist on my Macbook.  It was working from Macbook to iPhone but now no information is moving either way.  Sigh.
I am sure it's simple to fix but I have wasted enough time trying to figure it out.
Please help or point me to a similar solution.
Thanks
Dave

I was able to import photos in iPhoto and Image capture when I was running SL 10.6.8 on my older MacBook.
Did you try quitting everything, restart the Mac and then try again?
Are there any updates at all for the Mac? I was helping one user not all that long ago and there were updates for her Mac software that had nothing to do with the OS and when she downloaded the updates - the iPad was then recognized in iTunes.

This sounds like a problem you should take up with Apple Customer Support.

Thanks for the input. Did ensure both were set the same. They weren't. Synced settings, restarted iCal and iPhone. Still only syncing in one direction. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.

Since I did the upgrade on my iphone to IOS 7.0.3 when I connect to iTunes to sync my latest playlist and music that I have downloaded everything else is syncd but the music does not sync. All the same boxes are ticked as per usual to sync the music on iTunes.
My ipad syncd the music perfectly so must be about the IOS 7.0.3 upgrade I did on my iphone 5S.
Must be a setting on my iPhone that has changed with the upgrade .............. Help

    Scroll down to;
Then click Mac, or whatever one is applicible to you.
Be warned though. After synced, successfully, with iTunes 11.1, i ended up with over 10GB's of 'Other' data on my iphone. I had to do a factory reset (From iTunes/iPhone/Summary). It's been a pain in the ***, but it all seems fine now. But it has taken me hours. An di now have a headache.
Also, a factory reset will remove ALL your data, and i mean EVERYTHING! You've spend the rest of the day putting everything back the way you like it, and setting up all your setting again.

  • IPhone 3GS - Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Upgrade; iTunes Won't Recognize iPhone

I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, or something similar.
Today I purchased Snow Leopard 10.6.3 upgrade and everything went smoothly, but when I decided to plug my iPhone in to transfer some ringtones, my iTunes wouldn't recognize my iPhone. I was thinking it was because of my software upgrade, but I followed all the instructions about this issue that Apple gives but nothing's working.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

There was no separate install disk that came when I purchased my computer. I have gone into Disk Utility and hit the verify button and everything comes up ok. I don't think I've ever hit the repair disk button, though.
The various issues include: freezing at some point while I'm working on the Internet or in mail or using Kodak; the screen 'bleeds' as I scroll through (where the image smears as I scroll); there is an occasional line that shows up on my monitor, but usually goes away if I close an app like Mail or if I restart the computer.
I did add RAM in accordance with the instructions on the apple website and my computer was running great after that...no freezing and it was running so much faster. Prior to adding the RAM and having my drive wiped clean at the Genius Bar, it was really bad. I was constantly having to shut off the computer and turn it back on because it was constantly freezing or the screen would just go black as if it had shut off, though it was still on. They could not find anything wrong with the computer that would cause it to have those issues and that's why they decided to wipe it clean and load Leopard. Of course, that gave me a new host of issues, but it seemed to resolve once I upgraded the version of Leopard they put on.
Should I still do the repair disk?
And yes, the computer is working. Of course, I'm still on Leopard and not Snow Leopard...I don't know what happened with that.

  • I cant open my iTunes and this is a whole new installation of snow leopard

Every time I open my iTunes app i get this message:
The folder "iTunes" is locked on a disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder...
What the **** does this mean?? this is a new installation of snow leopard and my only account is the system administrator so how the **** do I not have access?? Please help urgently!

Each time you connect your iPhone to iTunes, you need to eject it before closing iTunes by clicking on the little "eject" icon shown in iTunes.  It seems that sometime in the past, you did not do that.
I'm not sure how to undo the previously done damage, but maybe a reboot of your Mac would help.

  • When I sync my Iphone 4s to PC, the calendars do not sync and recently added dates on PC disappear. What to do?

When I sync my IPhone 4s to PC, calendars do not sync. Recently added dates on Outlook calendar disappear. I have called Apple support numerous times, they cannot resolve the problem.

    PK-Papa,
In my searching through the communities, I found this an answer that referenced this particular support file about restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service.  I followed the instructions, even though I have Windows 8, and it fixed the connection problem between the iPhone and iTunes.

  • ICal-MBP-iPhone-Lion-Snow Leopard synch puzzle

    Any ideas about this situation?
    1) Lion 10.7.4 on MBP, with iCloud System Prefs set to manage everything.
    2) moved from Mobile Me to iCloud
    3) iPhone 3GS with OS5.1.1, with iCloud System Prefs set to manage everything.
    4) also have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on Mac Mini
    Ok.
Entered 3 iCal items on MBP.
Only one of them has shown up on iCloud.com.
Only that same item has shown up on iPhone with iOs 5.1.1 (and also on my iPad).
    Next.
iTunes on the Mac Mini recognizes that my bookmarks are being synced via iCloud (not a part of this story), and it reports that calendars are being synced over the air, but doesn't mention how.(Does it say that because I had Mobile Me?) Obviously, Mobile Me is closed and the Mac Mini isn't running Lion, so iCloud is not available.
So, Question 1: I've clicked SYNC CALENDARS in iTunes on the Mac Mini. Shouldn't it be grabbing that one calendar event from my iPhone and updating my Mac Minin iCal? (Do calendars synch through iTunes? Is that what the "duplication" warning is about, using Mobile Me (now iCloud ) AND syncing via iTunes?)
Qusetion 2: Why aren't those other two iCal events syncing from my MPB to iCloud and beyond?
Question 3: I have a !-triangle on my iCal on the Mac Mini. It says: "iCal can't connect to cal.me.com...". Does that make sense because Mobile Me is gone. What about the iTunes SYNC CALENDAR option. Is that independent if Mobile Me and iCloud.
    I am so confused.
    Thanks!!

    I've been working on this.
Tried this suggested action: iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar. Basically, flipped the switches on and off. Now things seem to be working, almost great.
Have created iCal events on iPhone, iPad, MBP, and icloud.com. Happily have those different evnts on each device. Cool!
The laggard is the Mac mini. Have tried syncing CALENDARS and CONTACTS via iTunes while wired together and also via WiFi, but iPhone and Mac Mini are just not talking. The new iCal event on the Mini doesn't sync to the phone nor do the new events on the phone sync to the Mini. Not listening and not talking.
Could this be an issue bewtween iOS5.1.1 and iTunes 10.6.3 and OS X 10.6.8.

  • Iphone 4s on iOS 7 - contacts do not sync anymore

contacts in my iPhone 4s do not sync anymore. other apps (ical, photos, reminders, mail) are ok. as of now I need to sync contacts manually. I also have two MacBooks and an iPad and they are all in sync among themselves, but the iPhone itself is out of reach. Is there a way to reset Contacts only for iPhone and get it back to normal?

    Hey puntodifuga,
There are a few things that you can do to get your contacts to sync over if you are using iCloud. Lets start with that and go over the article below to start that process so you can be synced up.

  • Using Find My iPhone with Snow Leopard and iPhone 4S

I just upgraded my family's three iPhones from 3GS to 4S. I have a family MobileMe account and would like to continue to use Find My iPhone. I cannot upgrade my OSX on my Macbook Pro past Snow Leopard without rendering a professional app that I use for my business unusable. Is there a way to make this work with the new phones without upgrading to Lion / enabling iCloud? That is unfortunately not an option for me until the pro software app is made Lion compatible. Thanks.

I suppose you could set up a dual-boot environment and keep Snow Leopard in a small partition to run your business software.  Clone your Snow Leopard partition into a second partition (with SuperDuper or similar) and upgrade this partion to Lion.  Then remove unnecessary applications from the Snow Leopard partition and resize it to save space.
This arrangement would allow you to run Lion as you primary OS with most of your applications and maintain a boot option to Snow Leopard to run your business software until its updated.  See http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20081187-263/how-to-keep-snow-leopard-when- upgrading-to-lion/.

  • The reminders app in my iPhone and the reminders in Mac are not syncing properly

I use the Reminders app and Notes app extensively to keep track in both my Mac and iPhone. However the reminders app in my phone does not immediately sync when i made changes in my Mac and later when i make a change in my iphone Reminders, it over writes the reminders in Mac. Please help so that my work syncs smoothly from Mac to iPhone and vice versa without any loss of information, just as Apple advertises and takes pride in being able to do so.

There are a couple threads out there with this issue.  I had the same problem. Try this link for the answer...
Re: Reminders not syncing properly with iCloud and iOS 8
At the bottom - one person has the answer...On your iPhone remove your iCloud account.  Then add it back.  It's not as painful as it sounds it only took me less than 5min to add everything back

  • IMac PPC G5, iPhone and Snow Leopard

Please pardon me if this is posted to the wrong board. It's a simple question and I think I know the answer, but need confirmation.
I have an iMac 1.8 Ghz PowerPC G5 with 1.5 GB SDRAM. Very nice machine, not the snappiest, but it gets the job done. The OS is 10.4.11.
My understanding is that I need an Intel based machine to upgrade to the latest OS, 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard).
I wish to upgrade so I can purchase an iPhone4... which requires a minimum OS 10.5.8.
If I am reading the documentation correctly, I need to spend $129 to upgrade the OS... which I cannot accomplish because I do not have an Intel based machine. So, essentially, an iPhone can not happen on my iMac.. I'll have to use my Windows based Vista laptop. Disappointing.
It seems odd to me, the iMac is only 3-4 years old and in great shape. I'd like to pair the iPhone with the iMac, but cannot justify an entirely new machine (as much as I'd like to have a newer iMac) to buy a phone.
Am I reading the documentation correctly?
    Many thanks in advance.

My understanding is that I need an Intel based machine to upgrade to the latest OS, 10.5.8 (Snow Leopard).
You need an Intel Mac to run 10.6 Snow Leopard. You don't to run Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard.
Am I reading the documentation correctly?
    You're not.
