ITunes 10.7 Installation Issues

So the other day I downloaded the iTunes 10.7 setup and that all went smoothly. Moving further along the track, I get to opening iTunes. A message comes up saying iTunes cannot run and straight after that closes another one comes up displaying a error message about how DEP automatically shut iTunes. This happens everytime I run iTunes, even if I run as administrator or in Safe Mode. What should I do?

Hi. I was wondering if you could help me? You seem to be very knowledgeable about fixing these iTunes errors.
I installed iTunes 10.7 and close to the end I got an error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I found this solution online (http://randomwindowstips.wordpress.com/tag/apple-mobile-device/),but don't know if I'm doing it right because it still won't work.
Any help you could give me would be much appreciated! Thanks!

  • ITunes 10.5 installation issue on windows 7 x64

I can't install iTunes on my Windows 7 x64 laptop. After turning off UAC, I get the following error: "An error occured while attempting to create the directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I am so frustrated. I have tried everything on here and the Microsoft forums but I cannot install iTunes 10.5.0.142 or 10.5.1.42 on my Windows 7 64 bit computer.
During the install, regardless of whether I do it manually or automatically I get the following error -
An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.0.507276195".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" .processotArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070057.
I have uninstalled all apple components, in the coorect sequence, cleared the registry and checked that windows is up to date. I have repaired the installation of .Net Framework and Visual C++ through control panel and I still get the error.
I can reinstall itunes 10.4.1.10 anytime and it works so I find it hard to justify why this doesn't work on anyone other than Apple.
Come on Apple, or anyone else, I am clearly not alone so please get this fixed so we can move to IOS5 too.
    Thanks

  • Itunes and Quicktime Installation issues

I am getting seriously frustrated! I am tring to install the Itunes 8 version and I already had Quicktime on my computer. It keeps giving me the same error: "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I don't know what this means or what to do? I went online and made sure that I checked for updates and installed them. I did the removal and reinstallation separately of Quicktime, but when I go to reinstall Quicktime it gives me the same error message now. Anybody have any ideas?

Check out the itunes technical support group website. I had similar problems and they had the answer I needed there. Here's the link. • Itunes installation issues, Windows Vista x64

Ok, so I have been having issues with the new update of iTunes. I had tried to avoid updating because I had heard there were some issues with the cross format compatablility of the new software but after doing a massive cleanup on my harddrive i figured I had held out long enough.  I updated, and I immediatly began having issues with the iTunes store. The bar would load about half way and just stick. I lost all the money on my giftcards from christmas and I couldn't buy the new music I wanted. I tried all of the troubleshooting I could find on the Apple website as well as the MS site, but no luck, so I uninstalled Itunes and thought that reinstalling it would fix the issue. I downloaded the installer exe. but every time I run it, it tells me that "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured durring installation. Your system hasn't been modified."
I have  purged my computer of apple software, both 32 and 64 bit. I have no idea what else to do, And i need a fix soon because I have people relying on my ability to have new, high quality music on a bi-weekly basis.
Thanks to anyone who can help, I am desprate at this point.

    Try following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Can't Sync Ipad 2 with Computer b/c Itunes 11.1 installation fails

Hello! I have a question in regards to my ipad 2 and syncing it to my computer. I recently installed IOS 7 onto my Ipad 2, but when I went to sync it with my computer, Itunes gave me an error saying that I needed to download and install itunes 11.1 for compatibility reasons with IOS 7. So, I was able to successfully download the new versions of itunes directly from the itunes website, but the issue came when the installation process began. The installation ran and had finished in a short amount of time and then I received this message:
"Errors occured during the installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again. Click finish to exit the installer."
So I went ahead and downloaded the software multiple times (5 times) and attempted to install it multiple times and I constantly receive the same error that is displayed above. If anyone has any clue on how to fix this I'd GREATLY appreciate anyone's suggestions. I generally can fix these problems myself but this problem seems to be persistent and many other people are having similar issues.

I have to say this would only happen on a windows PC,   Why it doesn't prompt you to close all windows baffle me still!
The install gets hung up because of an open window.   You must close all windows before installation.
Open downloads and delete the downloads you did so far.
To get the install back on track:
Scary, but it will be the cleanest install.  Uninstall iTunes using the control center.  Directions can be found here:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_5610253_uninstall-reinstall-itunes-windows.html
Note...you must close all windows during install.   After the download, open download window, close all other windows.
    Click on install.

  • What is an itunes 64-bit installer?

What is an itunes 64-bit installer? I have a windows 8 OS and the 64-bit version of itunes downloaded but could not run due to some sort of incompatibility issue.

Go to the Start button and right click on Computer, go to Properties where it will display the System you have. Sounds like you have a 32-bit system and will need a 32-bit version of iTunes, not 64-bit.

  • ITunes 7.0 Installation - Solution!

Chances are if you are reading this, you have experiencced iTunes 7.0 download issues. Like many other PC users on this discussion forum there are some unique and similar problems regarding Apple's latest release. For those who clicked the box to download iTunes 7.0 after the Sept. 14th release the program may have never fully downloaded. In my case it got to the last two or three bars and just hung up completely. Removing the program and reinstalling iTunes 7.0 did not fix the problem. The iTunes Support downloads were useless in resolving the issue as well. When I finally decided to remove iTunes using Advanced Uninstaller Pro 2006 I thought why not go back to iTunes 6.05 which worked just fine.
iTunes 7.0 creates a iTunes Music Library.xml file that will likely prohibit you from running a lower version of iTunes and accessing your library. After hours of trying to fix it myself, researching the internet and chat rooms I thought, why not bug my brother-in-law who works for Apple. If you wish to go back to 6.05 until Apple fixes some issues on 7.0 follow these steps:
    1) Uninstall iTunes 7.0
    2) Make sure your music remains in the c:\my documents\my music\iTunes\iTunes Music folder
    3) Download iTunes 6.05 from the following site: www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes605forwindows.html
    4) Complete the installation and open Windows Explorer
    5) Copy your "Previous iTunes Library" from c:\my documents\my music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Library directly into the iTunes directory. To do this select the file, right mouse copy and go up to iTunes and right mouse paste.
    6) Return to your desktop or start menu and lauch iTunes 6.05. Once the program launches do not click on download 7.0. Apple engineers are working to resolve these issues and another release 7.01 or something is inevitable.
iTunes 7.0 preserves the Previous Library however you have to copy it over as described above to get around the error message regarding the fact that iTunes cannot access the library because of the reference to the higher version. Once you follow these steps you will be back to grooving out with your music.
Once everything is working again feel free to email the folks at the Apple Support at the following website and let them know how much fun you have had with 7.0: www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/download
    Best Wishes!

I have had nothing but problems with the iTunes email support... At one point their ineptness was almost comical. I might have laughed if I hadn't been so ticked off.
Your solution is the one I used to solve my quicktime skipping problems until I discovered that upping the Khz and bit rates solved the problem... So, I went to download a new TV episode of Monk and it told me I couldn't until I upgraded to 7.0.1 which I did.
Now all of the music and videos that I downloaded under a previous email address can not be authorized for some reason.
I'm really getting tired of all of these problems... As soon as something else comes along that's comparable, I'm going to jump ship!

  • Where can I find iTunes 64-bit installer? It sounds like a separate download that I need to install itunes that will recognize my iphone 4.

Where can I find the itunes 64-bit installer?

You won't. Tiger will only run iTunes 9.2.1 or lower.  You will need to upgrade your operating system to Leopard or higher to run iTunes 10.
I am not sure about your system only supporting up to Tiger  -- I've seen reports about people running Leopard on even the oldest G4 Macs.  To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • ITunes 7.7 Launch Issue

    Hi,
I had a working iTunes 7.6 installation on 32-bit Vista.
I've installed iTunes 7.7, which installed no problem and displayed the licence agreement screen to me. I then clicked 'Agree' and it went away.
I can see it running in my task manager, however see no GUI.
Rebooting the PC, 'fixing' the installation, uninstalling and reinstalling haven't helped.
I click the iTunes icon, it shows me the progress bar 'Loading iTunes Library', and then the progress window vanishes and I see no iTunes. It is, however, running in my task manager.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Many thanks

Let's check to see first if this is a systemwide issue or if it is specific to a single user account.
Try creating a new user account (With full administrative rights) as per the instructions in the following document:
iTunes for Windows Vista: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
Now log out of the old user account and log into the new one.
Try launching iTunes in the new account. Does an (empty) library screen eventually come up, or do you get the same kind of behavior as you do with the the usual user account?

  • ITunes 10.5 installation problem on Lion 10.7.2

I've first upgraded Lion to 10.7.2 with http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1459 because it was failing with the regular software upgrade, then I run software upgrade again and chose to upgrade iTunes. The installation failed without any useful output. Then I've downloaded installation of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and tried to install it, but ended with same error. Now if I open iTunes, it starts with a "An unknown error occured (-42408)." message. The about page states that it's version 10.5 (141) and the check for updates states that it's the latest. If I run the system's software upgrade then iTunes is displayed there. Any suggestions how can I fix this, or at least downgrade to the previous version which was working fine?

I have the same problem. I also have the following problem : iTunes 10.5 told me that my iPad needed resetting which I started to do and then it errored out on me leaving my iPad stuck. I eventually upgraded to OS5 on my daughters Mac which was running iTunes 10.5 with OS X  10.6.8 but have lost all my apps etc which I presume are on my iTunes . Unfortunately my iTunes will still not let me access my iPad. I haven't dared plug in my iPhone since upgrading to 10.7.2 in case it does the same thing. Help!

  • Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue

Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct.  4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding  LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
    1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
    2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
    3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
    4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
    So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating.  Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info:  Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare!  Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well.  No other apps are running during the install.)
