ITunes 10.7 keeps resetting

I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.7 earlier this week. When I first ran the program, I had to accept the user agreement then put in my Apple ID and password, as I always do when I install a new version of iTunes. The problem is, every time I close iTunes and then reopen it, I have to do this again. Every. Sinlge. Time. I have accepted the user agreement and entered by Apple ID and password over a dozen times, and it keeps doing this. Any one have any ideas?

"the itunes library file cannot be saved. an unknown error has occured (-50)."
keeps popping up now?

  • Why do my itunes podcast settings keep resetting?

i originally set my itunes to download new podcasts every night at 12:15 am, so i could get news podcasts from the previous day if i missed it, but my download time seems to randomly reset itself to different times of day. sometimes early morning, sometimes mid-afternoon, sometimes in the early evening.
when i readjust the download time, it randomly resets itself again.
i know it can reset itself if there's a power outage, but why does it keep resetting itself randomly?

So after the subscriptions disappeared yesterday, I resubscribed to Democracy Now! and Bill Moyers Journal.
This morning, I went to check iTunes... and two of the subscriptions were gone -- AGAIN! And the episode of Democracy Now! that remained behind was now listed under real Tim with Bill Maher.
I'm getting so frustrated with this... why am I having to re-subscribe to podcasts every day now?

    Hi all
i am trying to access iTune store but keep on getting message "cannot access iTune store" i have reset my password several times and it didn’t help. My apple ID has been confirmed as correct. what can I do next?

I am having the same issue!  I see several people are having this problem, and I see there is no solution from Apple!  Why is it I only see problems on this site and never any solutions?

  • Iphone now it says it needs to be activated and plugged into itunes. It wont let me do anything because it keeps resetting. Help please.

I cant coonect it to the computer because the iphone keeps resetting itself and the restore or activation cannot be completed. Do I just need to get a new iphone? I have a 3gs and dont want to get a new iphone. Also the iphones sim card wont work and I have tried to do a hard reset mutiple times.

Sounds like your phone was jailbroken.  If it was, you will need to get another phone.  That phone is permanently disabled.

  • ITunes Match keeps resetting my iTunes Library metadata

I would be very grateful if somebody could help me!  I have painstakingly gone through all my classical music tracks (all 2000 of them) fixing the metadata.  I joined iTuines Match the day it was launched all my songs were already synced to that service.
For example, I want the composers name at the beginning of each song tile:   Beethoven; Symphony No.9
Then I want the composer field to list the composer's name like this:  Beethoven, Ludvig van
And I want the performers name (not the composers name) to be in the Artist & Album Artist fields:   Leonard Bernstein, New York Philhamonic
I spent a whole day manually changing them all to the way I want them (and had a great time listening to some awesome music at the same time!).   BUT.... low and behold, iTunes Match seems to have intervened and changed many of them back!!  Much of my hard work is gone
I made sure that iTunes Match was already turned off on my other computers before I started, so that does not seem to be the problem...
How can I force iTunes Match to keep my songs named the way I want them named etc?
Any help would be most appreciated!

It sounds like your iPad is not signed into the same itunes STORE account.
Make sure that it is and that the toggle button for show all music is turned on and you should slowly see your music becoming available on your device.
As far as the constant signing in I would say do you have the latest software on your computer?
If you do then I would suggest uninstallling itunes and reinstalling from the apples website.
Sometimes this helps FIX somethings we can't see.  You will probably have to sign in once you reinstall but it should just go through the motions and it will not double upload your music.  At least it hasn't for me.
When you reinstall itunes your itunes library will not be affected so don't be worried about it messing your library up. At least it never has for me.

  • ITunes keeps resetting its library

    Hello,
I own an iPhone 4 and my biggest problem with it is that its constantly demanding to be in sync with my iTunes library.
This wouldn't be a problem if my iTunes library wouldn't reset itself every month or two.
Every month or two, out of nowhere(I'm not making any changes in my computer)
I open my iTunes, and see that its empty.
No backup logs for my iPhone, No music files, no playlist and so on.
What can I do to make it stop?
    Thanks alot,
    Eitan.

  • ITunes no longer keeps speakers running on headphone jack

iTunes no longer keeps my external speakers running when connected by audio cable to the headphones jack. After 1:45 min:sec, my Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 speakers power down when connected to my computer playing iTunes.
The speakers do not power down for audio generated from other sources on my computer. When I play a video or audio file through Safari or another browser, the speakers work fine. When I listen to an audio file by selecting it in the Finder using Apple-Y ("quick-view"), the speakers run continuously until the end of the track without powering down. When I use the speakers configured the same way with other software (such as Skype), they work fine.
The speakers do not power down for audio generated from other DEVICES. When I plug the speaker cable into the headphone jack of either my iPhone 3Gs or my partner's mp3 player and play audio, the speakers work continuously.
I've looked at trouble-shooting for iTunes and found nothing on the Apple site or the web or in the iTunes preferences to keeping wire external speakers live during iTunes playback. I've tried having the speakers connected to a power source or running on batteries but the problem is the same. I've reset the speaker device with no change. I've reinstalled iTunes, no change. The Apple Store genius bar cleared all caches and restarted, no change. They reinstalled the computer system, but found no change.

    Hi Dexterdawg
Can you direct me to the thread as I can not sort out the same problem on my iMac
    Thanks

  • ITunes 10.6.3 Mac running 10.7.3 not responding I have deleted iTunes and reinstall iTunes and it keeps happening I also scanned the computer for any trojans and any other possible viruses but the pc is running perfect waft do I do ? Please help me ?

I need help iTunes 10.6.3 Mac running 10.7.3 not responding I have deleted iTunes and reinstall iTunes and it keeps happening I also scanned the computer for any trojans and any other possible viruses but the pc is running perfect waft do I do ? Please help me ?

    Hey thanks for replying.
    Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!

  • I recently downloaded the latest iTunes and now keep getting the error message "A required iTunes compnent is not installed. Please re-install iTunes (-42404).  I have re-installed 10x and still no luck.  iTunes will not sync with my iPad.  Can anyone hel

I recently downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes and now keep getting the error message "A required iTunes component is not installed.  Please re-install iTunes (-42404)".
Since this, my iPad will not sync, despite resetting it many times.
I have downloaded and installed the new iTunes more than ten times with no luck.
    Please can anyone help!!!!!!!

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

  • Serious iPod problem (iPod keeps resetting)

I've had my iPod for almost 2 years and until now everything worked fine. i listen to it on average 1 hr each day, and until 2 days ago battery seemed fine (I would recharge it each week, though it would be only half empty).
So 2 days ago I was listening to music, tried to go forward and all of a sudden it stopped playing music, it was just frozen. I reset it and it came back with a "sad" iPod icon. Ocassionaly it would end up with the icon as if the battery is dead. I reset it a few more times and mostlt I got the same "sad" icon and only a few times the battery icon.
I than tried to hook it up to my computer via USB and it would just reset and PC/iTunes would not see it.
Since I've had it for 2 years I thought maybe the battery has gone bad (but does it happen just like that without any signs?) so I tried to charge itbut when I connect it to charger it keeps resetting.
I than tried to force it into disc mode and that worked but as soon as I connected it to my computer it would reset. Even when I tried to charge it in disc mode it would reset after a few secunds.
So, if left alone it is in off mode, but if I push any button it starts up, and eventually shows the sad iPod icon. If plugged into the charger or PC it keeps resetting.
I have no way to get into it and update the iTunes, or access iPod. Has anyone seen this? Does is sound like a battery or is it something worse? I am out of warranty and would not want to spend too much money fixing it since it probably does not worth much, though i wish I could save my iTunes collection...

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem though a slight variation on a theme. maybe you can help me out.
I have a 4th generation iPod (20 Gig) and it told me my ipod battery had died, so i plugged it into my computer to charge. It started out showing me the large symbol of the battery with the lightening bolt until there was enough to power the iPod so that it could run with iTunes. Except once it finally had enough power and interacted with iTunes it went into a black and white mode instead of the normal color mode and the the battery icon up in the top right corner was black with the lightening bolt. I got the normal "do not disconnect" message except that was black and grey as well.
I figured i'd update my ipod as it was still charging and added a new playlist and it appeared to take the music, but when I unplugged the ipod it showed me the icon of the folder with the exclamation point and gave me the address http://www.apple.com/support/ipod. Since i didn't have time then i reset it and then plugged it in via a car charger to see if charging it would fix the problem. Unfortunately, when I unplugged it from the computer to take to the car and reset it, it started rebooting over and over. I was able to force it into disc mode so that it would continue to charge without wasting so much battery rebooting (it didn't reboot in disc mode) and continued to work on it when i got home.
At home i tried every fix they have listed on the site and in my ipod handbook and nothing has worked. I have reset, restored twice, and charged the battery. The weird thing is that it
    1) is recognized by itunes
    2) just turns off if i try to use the charger
    3) appears to be able to download music to it but makes a clicking noise
    4) since it doesn't recognize the charger I can't finish the restore process
    5) still gives me the folder icon when it tries to turn on
    PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!
If you can think of anything i can do to fix this I will be so appreciative.
    Thanks guys!

Then get the previous owner to remove the iPod from their account
Apple's new iCloud tool can show if a used iPhone is stolen
If you can't get that done then all yo have is a poor flashlight. You are running into
    Find My iPhone Activation Lock
Which is an anti-theft feature. Apple will not help since you are not the original purchaser of the iPod

  • My ipod keeps resetting itself when i plug it in to the computer, now what?

Basically, I plugged my ipod into my laptop as usual and itunes sprang up with an error message that i can't quite remember. I just remember that it mentioned a file corruption and that i should either restore the ipod settings or i should disconnect and reconnect it. I reconnected it and got the same result, then tried again. This time iTunes didn't recognise it all and within a minute of being connected my ipod reset itself. The laptop registers it, but my ipod just keeps resetting itself and i don't know what to do. I've tried resetting it and restoring default settings, so what more can i do or is a repair the only option?

Follow the steps mentioned in this article to disable the camera notification: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1501 , then try again to connect to iTunes.

  • HT201263 My iPad 2 keeps resetting over & over

My iPad 2 keeps resetting over & over again without the home screen even coming up. I tried a restore but it is still resetting itself any suggestions?

You can try to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • IPod Touch 4th keeps reseting all the time!!

Hey everybody! I really hope that you guys can help me..
I was trying to exclude an app and then I decided to reset my ipod touch 4th. Now, it keeps reseting all the time by itself! The ipod don't turn off or even less turn on.. What can I do??

    - Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod then restore the iPOd.
    - Next see if recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so your can restore it.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Then try DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Then, let the battery fully drain and then charge and try again.
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPhone keeps Resetting

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing an issue with the iPhone6 where the phone, at random, keeps resetting itself? I will go to open an app, or maybe go to unlock the phone, or just swipe left or right and I'm taken to the white screen with the Apple Logo. After about a quick ten seconds, the phone is back up and ready to go. This happens twice an hour while using my phone, at least.
I purchased my original phone on launch day, and about two months later this started happening. I took it to the Genius Bar and without question they gave me a new phone. I setup my new phone as a new phone, just in case the issue was with my backup. Approximately two or three weeks later, the same issue started happening again. Went back to Apple, without question, another brand new phone. Now, two or three weeks later (again) my phone is doing the exact same thing. Each time it has been setup as new.
    I,
    1. don't understand what's causing it to be on a two-to-three week time issue where this starts happening, as opposed to immediately and;
    2. because Apple is so quick to just swap the phone out, it makes me wonder if it's truly a software issue or not.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, and if so what the outcome was?

I'm having this same issue. It started for me yesterday afternoon. I've restored it through iTunes but that did not solve the problem. I have an appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow, but I'm still puzzled as to why it's behaving this way.
