ITunes 10 rental movie error 8008

In iTunes 10, I try to download rental movie Judas Kiss. It stops at 200,1 MB with error 8008. Already deleted a temp file. Any idea?

I deleted the Downloads folder (within the Music Folder) it did have a very small partially downloaded file for the movie. I opened iTunes and selected Check for Available Downloads – it began the download showing approx. 17-minutes time remaining — then the time remaining in the window quickly reduced to 3 minutes and then stopped. Exactly what has happened every time I have tried. I think the file is corrupted (as one of the message windows suggests is possible). I also tried to download from another of our computers and the same thing happened.
I have spoken with Apple and they have also been in touch via email. I answered all their questions and responded quickly but here in Seattle, WA USA we do have a snow storm today though my broadband connection remains steady and fast — but it is now 7:30 PM so any chance of resolving this issue and settling down to enjoy The Ides of March tonight is probably out. Ironic movie title for a problem download.
I am now downloading Moenyball (Brad Pitt) and so far it IS downloading properly. I decided to take another $3.99 risk to see if it was my computer or connection or Apple's iTunes movie file for the other film. I have my answer!

Itunes rental movie won't play on apple tv

I'm trying to play an itunes rental movie via itunes on my Windows 8 computer through Apple TV.
Upon trying to play the movie the computer says "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Apple TV". An unknown error occurred (-41049)."
The TV says "This movie is already being viewed on another Apple TV or computer...."
The movie is NOT playing anywhere else.
Any advice on how to fix this?

My rental stopped about 10 minutes ago and I can't restart it. Actually, I was just prompted to update Apple TV ... guess they rolled out an update that caused the issue? Find out here soon ...

Mine handles iTunes videos ok. Be aware that when you buy the HD version you also get the SD version. The combination is normally 5 gigs or better. If you're going to view the movie on the MBair, SD is probably good enough weighing in at slightly over a gig.

Downloaded a itunes rental movie, but Apple TV says it is not authorized to show it

I downloaded a itunes rental movie on ipad, but we wanted to view it on Apple TV. However, it said that it was not authorized to show it even though we could see it on the ipad. The funny is that we viewed another rental movie a week ago. We tried to view rental movie and both times, it said that Apple TV was authorized to show these movies. These moves were PG or 14A.
Any ideas or thoughts?

Delete track from your library and go to iTunes Store, select purchases under quicklinks and redownload track again.

Itunes rental movie will not start

Rented a movie with proper credentials and it will not start in iTunes. No error messages, nothing. Just will not start.
Rented it again, same issue. What am I missing?

This worked for me when I ran into the same issue (can scroll through rented movie but can't play it). Just switch iTunes to the MiniPlayer (in the Window menu) and then back to the normal player. Apparently, you may need to do this a few times. It sounds odd (and I didn't really expect it to work), but it fixed the problem for me.

Movie Error 8008

The iTunes store took my money when I tried to rent "Marly & Me", but when it is downloading, it gives error 8008. I have followed apples help steps, but they did not work and I still get error 8008. I want to either get the movie, or get my money back. How can this be accomplished?

I reported 2 free music videos that stopped mid download. Received the same page you posted, but it doesn't cover the problem. Error code 2008 is displayed, and a pop up says the file appears to be corrupted. Repeating the download only repeats the same problem. I've restarted iTunes and restarted my computer, and the problem remains. One video finally showed up in my playlist, but only the first 48 seconds works, then the video freezes.
I successfully downloaded music videos in my older version of iTunes, but since I upgraded to the latest version, now this doesn't work. Aaargghh!

ITunes rental movie locks up 2min in

Just downloaded rental from iTunes. Movie freezes 2min in. This causes video app to lock so I have to reboot pad to try again. Do I need to re-download and will apple charge me again for the same movie?

Open iTunes and Check for available downloads. If the movie doesn't show up, ask customer support to make it available for you to download so you won't have to purchase it again.
Sometimes, movie freezes because you have not completely downloaded the movie. You sometimes need to completely download the whole file before actually watching it to avoid problems like this.

Unable to sync itunes rental movie to iphone

Have an iphone 3Gs....rented a movie but am unable to sync it to my phone. Movie seemed to take a long time to download to my MacBook Pro but is in my iTunes. Have not had previous problems with rental movie.

HD content will not xfr...
when you purchase HD content, you get both SD and HD...only the SD can be synced to iPhone...honestly I've never rented HD so I can't say if you also get an SD view...but I highly doubt it so you will most likely not be able to sync an HD rental...

ITunes Rental Movies Do Not Play in Front Row on Computer

Surely I cannot be the only person who would like to watch a rented iTunes movie on my computer using Front Row?
My iTunes library is on an external drive and when I open and browse Front Row, everything BUT the rented movies appear in my movie list. Purchased movies are there, video podcasts are there, home movies are there, just not the rented ones. Why is that?
I don't have an Apple TV, just a laptop an external drive and a desire to watch rented movies through an application designed to play ALL my media, not just select media.
And I haven't seen any info on Apple's website to indicate that rentals would not work with Front Row. And I do have all the latest Apple software updates.

Front Row in Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard) has access to your iTunes and iPhoto libraries without launching those applications. You're right, rented moves don't appear in Front Row and there have been a couple of Front Row updates since rented moves became available. The only thing I can think of is that the rental terms can't be enforced when the movie is played in Front Row instead of iTunes. For example, Front Row's access to your iTunes library is really read-only. You can't delete files, apply ratings or change any other settings on the files in your library through Front Row. I think the way iTunes handles rental movies, the file has to be updated with some kind of tag when you start to play it so iTunes knows how much longer you have to finish playing it. So, it's doubtful Front Row will be able to do this. I don't think Apple has ever made a statement one way or the other about this, it's just my opinion.

Try searching for the name of one of your rentals on the iPad's spotlight search screen (pull down the centre of the home screen in iOS 7, swipe your first home screen to the right in iOS 6 and below), type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app via the taskbar and then re-open it and see if they play : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the Videos app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

ITunes rental download error

My iPad almost downloaded an movie rental, but at one point, the download stopped: "Download error. Tap to retry."
• I have tried Tap several times, it starts again, processing, and than stop again
• I have restarted iPad, same problem
• I have syned and free up even more space, same problem.
Two problem with this:
• On my mac, in iTunes, it doesn't offer the movie to download.
• The partial download occupy 1.4 GB on my ipad, but doesn't show up in movies, so I can't see, can't delete

Same here.
My biggest problem with the download isn't the space it's occupying. It's that it asks me for my account password every 5 min.
I've been thinking about a factory restore but seems like a drastic solution, there should be an easier way to delete it. Like swipe deleting it like all other downloads.

HT1657 I STILL cant download the itunes rental movie on my Ipad

Ive read the threads by others, and Ive done a hard reset. I'm in the UK, tme zones etc all OK. My account details are correct. I can see the movie rental from the video icon at the bottom of the screen, and see the box where it should be shown, greyed out. If I click on the little cloud icon with the arrow pointing down, it comes up with a message "you have already rented this, but it has not been downloaded. Go to downloads to manager your downloads". I know that "downloads" doesnt exist on the Ipad . Any advice? Its really frustrating!!

Playing itunes rental movies

when I try to play a movie that was downloaded to a computer, that I have given away, on my new computer, it says this movie has been authorized to play on another computer and cannot be played on this ( my new ) computer, Is there anyway I can play the movie that I rented and downloaded on my new computer, The rental period has not expired. thank you joanlvh

Can't do it.
You can only move it from the computer you rented it on to an iPhone, touch, iPod or Apple TV.
To do this, you need to be connected the internet and sync it using iTunes. Simply copying it over will not update iTunes DRM to allow it to play on the other device.
