ITunes 11.0.1 does not show purchased apps as 'Install' or 'Download'
For many years including this version, I have been able to tell apps that have been purchased either by a sign 'INSTALL' or 'DOWNLOAD'. For the last 2-3 days, apparently, this has been missing. I see either FREE or prices in all apps, I can't tell which one I have bought and which one I haven't.
Is this server issue or specific to mine? If so, how can I fix it?
Thank you everyone for your confirmation that this isn't a specific issue to my account or my system. This is a very counter-intuitive update as Decodex mentioned it, it is hard to see if we have purchased something, unless you click purchase.
In iTunes app in iOS, the function still works although I don't see a reason why the desktop is to made differently.
One the frustrating point is the competences of iTunes support personal that did not acknowledge the issue and dismiss this as simply a iTunes 11 change (which is not correct as iTunes 10 also has the issue). I was then pushed to a black hole of provide your feedback at this link.

Purchased does not show purchased
I purchased 8 seasons of a tv show. I can play all of them on my mac, iPhone, iPad and AppleTV. I see all of them on my TV Shows tab in the library. When I go to the iTunes store and do a search for the TV show, I see all 8 seasons. Season 2 - 8 show "Purchased" while Season 1 shows the price as if I never purchased it. (does not show "Purchased")

I have my PC on, then plug in my iPad (which is on) and open iTunes. The iPad does not show up in the sidebar. How do you get it to show up so that I can select the iPad and then configure the sync settings in each of the settings panes....hoping that these actually show up.
In the manual it says "log in to your computer user account before connecting iPad". I am the only user of this PC...does this mean some other user account. I am confused. I need "baby steps" to tell me how to do all this....very senior and just learning about this wonderful machine. I will very much appreciate your help.If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts. All the instructions on synching start with "find your device in the device window". But what if you have no device window?
Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same. -
After upgrade to ios 6, iphone 4 is not wroking, It suddenly stops responding to any actions. Today it totally stopped and is nothing working. Connected to itunes and the device does not shows up. Please help

I have just gotten my new ipad!!! I downloaded latest version of itunes but my ipad does not show in devices when I try to sync music. Any suggestions??
Does a little box come up seeing the iPad as a camera? That doesn't impact iTunes as much as it confirms that your computer sees the device. If your computer doesn't see it then iTunes doesn't know it's there.
If you're plugged into a hub or extender, try plugging it directly into the box or main part of your computer.
If you're using an extension, stop and just use the included sync cable.
Try using a different USB port.
After you installed iTunes, did you restart your computer?
Usually what's needed is the 'apple device driver' which installs automatically, you just need to sometimes trigger the install, using different ports helps with that.
If the simple trouble shooting doesn't help then you can search on the Apple Device Driver and there's more detailed trouble shooting on the site. -

Do you have the absolute latest version of iTunes downloaded? If your iTunes software has not been updated in some time, your iPad will not be recognized. With iTunes open, click on Store at the top. Check for available downloads and if there are any, download them. Once you've verified you have the latest software, connect your device again, and it should be recognized.

My icloud does not show any apps on my iPhone, anyone know where they are?

What apps were you looking for? The apps you purchased from the App store will not be there, and unless they are iCloud-enabled apps that sync documents and data with iCloud, they don't take any space in your iCloud account.

I cloud does not show Numbers app listed although I Cloud button in Numbers is on. Therefore unable to back up Numbers data.

I have the current version of itunes on my pc and my wife had downloaded a few audio books to her i phone under the same account. Her phone was damaged and was replaced. I had backed up the phone and restored the new one but her audio books were not put on the new phone. When i look in my itunes library on my pc the book does not show up. In the purchase history I can find when i purchased it and the order number but there is no option to download it. Then under the "purchased" area it gives the options of music movies tv shows apps and books (not audio books) but audio books are no where to be found. If i can get any help figuring it out i would appreciate it.

If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

movie i rented on itunes, downloaded on my pc does not show up on my mac book air. home sharing is turned on, and both computers are authorized. Help!
Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro. If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook. Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad. Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

Itunes 10.2.1 does not show remote speakers option
I have been having a strange issue on one of my laptops. I have two laptops - one with Windows 7 64bit and Windows XP 32 bit. On both laptops, I was able to connect to the airport express to stream music to my home theater (receiver) till a few months back. Both have the latest version of Itunes - 10.2.1. Now, the Windows 7 laptop continues to work fine but the Windows XP laptop is having problems. *Itunes does not show the remote speaker option. The airport utility does not recognize the airport express.* In the Windows Firewall exceptions, there are entries for Bonjour (port 5353 UDP), Bonjour Service (mDNSresponder.exe) and Itunes.exe and all are checked. Even if I disable firewall, it does not resolve anything.
The airport express is connected through an ethernet cable to the Belkin Wireless N router. The wireless mode for the airport express is switched off. The firmware on the airport express is version 6.3.
Few differences between the two laptops
Windows XP: I use a Belking Wireless N Notebook card to connect to the Belkin Wireless N Router. Antivirus is "McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + Antispyware Enterprise 8.7.0i"
Windows 7: I use the inbuilt wireless to connect to the same router. Antivirus is "ESET Smart Security 4.0"
Can someone help? I have researched the forum and tried the following things but still does not help.
1. Tried uninstalling Itunes and Airport Utility and reinstalling
2. Tried disabling Windows FirewallI solved my problem I tried several other programs to play my music and since nothing seemed to work, i started deleting other software from my computer and apparently Uniblue's RegistryBooster was the one that caused the problem. Now able to enjoy music from my computer again

ITunes 9.1.1 does not show up in Software Update
I am aware that iTunes 9.1.1 is availible for download at Apple's website, however for some strange reason iTunes always alerts me to upgrade to 9.1.1 but when I open Software Update it says that "Software Update doesn’t have any new software for your computer at this time." I am currently running iTunes 8.2.1 if that helps any, and I would just like to know why the newest version does not show up in my Software Update and if there is anything that can be done to fix this.

I have installed a new drive on my mac book and more ram but the snow leopard install asks which to install the system on but then does not show the drive.

Drive Preparation
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
When formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the OS X installation.
