ITunes 11.0.3 installation failed, iPhone disappears from MacBook Pro

Did the update of iTunes to version 11.0.3 some days ago. When finishing I got the message "an error occured", but the new version of iTunes was installed. Now I've got the problem, that my iPhone 5 is no longer recognized by my MacBook Pro. This means, neither iTunes, iPhoto or any other programm is aware of the iPhone beeing connected. The iPhone just sounds "bling" when being connected and it is charged.
I restarted the Mac and the iPhone. I've fixed the rights. I downloaded the complete iTunes 11.0.3 from Apple-website, but when I installed it again, I've got a similar message (an error occured).
What can I do now?

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are not able to install the latest version of iTunes, and your iPhone is not recognized in iTunes or iPhoto. I found some articles that can help resolve this issue:

Front Row disappears from MacBook Pro

I found Front Row is not launching. I tried running the updater but it says FR is not installed on my machine!
The remote is paired and can control the volume and tracks on iTunes.
I have repaired permissions, shut down, restarted etc but no luck.

Try pressing Command ( key) and Esc...thats the keyboard shortcut for Front Row.
I was having difficulties accessing Front Row using the remote after pairing it and having the MBP sleep. I believe I have solved this by unpairing the remote (Security in System Preferences) and restarting.

IPhoto disappears from MacBook Pro

I posted this elsewhere, but i'll try here too. Today I found that my MacBook Pro suddenly did not have the iPhoto App anymore. It used to be there. I was able to DL it from Apple, but I wonder what happened? I think I might have deleted it, but I dont't know how I would do that accidentally. I am running Mavericks and the latest iPhoto. All my photo are still there and the DL was sucessfull.

My iPhone disappears from my iTunes window -- cannot sync

I can't sync my iPhone.
With iTunes launched, I plug in my (Gen 1) iPhone, and the "Gil's iPhone" line gets added to the left column of the iTunes window as usual, but then, after a few seconds, it goes away. Meanwhile, my iPhone's screen goes to the green battery charge indicator for those same few seconds, then goes to black about the same time that my iPhone disappears from the iTunes window. The "Sync" button never appears in the iTunes window.
I have tried:
Rebooting the computer
Power cycling the iPhone
Unplugging and replugging my iPhone (Each time, my iPhone appears in the iTunes window then goes away.)
Using the other USB port
Using a different USB - to - iPhone cable
I tried plugging my iPhone into my partner's computer -- it seems to work there. "Gil's iPhone" appeared in the left column of his iTunes window and stayed there. I could view my playlists by clicking on the disclosure triangle, but, of course, it could not sync.
I have not synced my iPhone in several weeks, although I keep it in its cradle for charging.
I'd sure appreciate some suggestions to get my iTunes and my iPhone syncing again.

Well, this problem seems to have stumped the experts. I called Apple Support (so glad I got the extended AppleCare). We expect to hear back from Engineering in a few days.
The process was so cool. We downloaded two apps to run on my machine. One (ARA, probably for "Apple Remote Access") allowed Daniel of Tier 2 to view my screens and point at things (but not click.) The other (ACCD) captured logs and files about my machine while I went through the mechanical procedure to repoduce the error, which took about two minutes. The files are compressed into two dmg files, so the enclosing folder is only 5MB. Looking through the logs in those dmgs is very interesting.

My iPhone disappears from iTunes and then it'll reappear and re-sync. This has happened a few times today as I am charging & syncing my apps. I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes but the problem persists. I have the latest iPhone software.

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

You'll need to switch off iTunes Match on the device & sync the iPod with iTunes as hopefully you've kept all your music on your PC.

Let's say, I have an Iphone 3GS and it was synced to my older pc (I know...) and it crashed and I can't retrieve my files on there. I can sync almost everything via icloud but there are files like photos, videos, other music that I cannot sync or for some weird reason it won't work over the cloud. iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the iPod application on iPhone using the Music pane in iTunes.
To Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPhone:
1. Connect iPhone to your computer.
2. In iTunes, select iPhone in the sidebar.
3. Select the Music tab.
4. Select the “Include voice memos” checkbox and click Apply.

I am having (seemingly) bluetooth connection issues with "some" devices to my MacBook Pro. I note:
* Mouse pairs fine
* iPhone 3GS does not remain connected (focus of this forum question)
Error - after pairing my iPhone 3GS to my MBP I get an error:
The Bluetooth Network is Unavailable
There was an error connecting your device. Make sure the device is turned on and in range.
Notes:

Background: Ultimately interested in teethering my iPhone 3G data connection to my MacBook Pro, but for the moment the bluetooth connection won't even remain in place.

nothing in these articles helped unfortunately - some more clarification:
tethering via USB from iPhone 3G to MacBook Pro => WORKS
tethering via Bluetooth => does NOT work, with bluetooth connectioning not staying up
During pairing process:
devices "see each other"
pairing appears to work, then you see that the connection drops out directly afterwards (almost immediately)
on iPhone message = "Connection Unsuccessful - XXX's MacBook Pro is not supported"
on MacBook - it's just the connection in Bluetooth options shows up as not connected
in /var/log/system I see some bluetooth related lines:

Any other ideas? Is it a physical problem with my MBP? but then again my bluetooth mouse stays connected ok. And in terms of the iPhone well it tethers fine to the iPad via bluetooth....

And by the way, this is apparently a common problem and Apple has completely failed to warn in advance or offer a quick straightforward solution - used to be a good company, but it's becoming just another crappy screw-the-consumer corporation.

It would help to know versions here. I'm guessing your update put an older version of something into a place where a newer version of something iTunes put in there existed. Updating an earlier OSX version to 10.6.8 is still only updating to system software that was issued several years ago. If you are running some slightly newer version of iTunes issued subsequent to 10.6.8 and you just updated to 10.6.8 you may have put in an older version of something iTunes uses. Anyway, I'm guessing here until we know exactly what you did.

I don't know how you got to your current position, but you might want to start by replacing your calendar with your MacBook Pro calendar if it is correct (if it isn't, skip this): first disable calendar syncing on your phone (Settings>iCloud>Calendars set to OFF), then prior to syncing open iTunes on your computer and disable automatic syncing (under Preferences>Devices>Disable...from syncing automatically syncing). Next connect your phone and set your sync settings on the Info tab to Syc Calendars with iCal, and below under Advanced choose "Replace Information on this iPhone" and check Calendars. Now sync and this will hopefully replicate your MacBook calendar on your iPhone.
Next, carefully review this to see that you have correctly set up iCloud on both your phone and your MacBook: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/, and that your meet the minimum system requirements (latest version of iOS on your phone, latest version of iTunes, OSX Lion 10.7.2 or later).

When syncing the iPhone and iPad with iTunes on your computer that is logged in with the Apple ID you plan on using on all three, the Apple ID should be transferred to the iPhone and iPad for the iTunes & App Stores on each device. If not, you'll need to sign out of the existing Apple ID on the iPhone and iPad followed by signing in with the Apple ID you want to use on both.
Keep in mind that all 3rd party apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. With an app installed on your iPad and iPhone that was downloaded with a different Apple ID from the one you will be using now, you will need to use that Apple ID and password to install app updates for those apps. Not possible to transfer apps purchased with one Apple ID to another or to merge Apple IDs.
