Itunes 11.0.4 downloads instead of latest
I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes, so I can use my iPad Mini and add songs from my PC. It is Windows 7, 64-bit, pretty old and crappy. No matter what I have tried, it always downloads 11.0.4 instead of 11.4. Have uninstalled, redownloaded the installer, looked for direct downloads. Downloading direct sounds like my best bet, with my iPad in its current state, I need 11.1 or higher to use it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That is a pretty good guess.Try updating the second eMac's iTunes to at least the version that was on the first. -
I downloaded a film from ITunes in HD and had problems, I upgraded to the latest version of ITunes and have then downloaded the film again in SD on my Windows 7 computer, but I still can't get the film to play, any idea's what to do next?
I've been working at the same problem for hours now and it's really driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated. It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

iTunes compelled me to download the latest version, before I could complete a transaction (which, needless to say, was botched). I have Windows XP, and I cannot open iTunes now without freezing or crashing my computer. This is utterly frustrating, since I can't even play any holiday music, much less update my iPod.
Can I uninstall, and reinstall the older version? I do not need all the bells and whistles, and I detest the new format (even if it were to run on my computer)?
I'd love to be able to access my Xmas playlist someday. What didn't work? Removing everything or just the older version of Bonjour? Did you follow the instructions in the link I provided above to walk you through the process?
Perhaps it would be a better idea to post this in the iTunes forums, since it is an issue with iTunes and your iPod Shuffle.

Just tried to download and install latest ITunes update and it would not finish update. I aborted the update and then my ITunes will not open. I keep getting and error stating that file MSVCR80.dll not found. I reinstalled my original ITune file but this did not clear this error. Any ideas.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Bought a new iPod nano. Trying to download and install latest version of iTunes. When i try to install downloaded program, I get a message that says OS10.7 is required. I have OS10.58. What to do?
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu.
If you have a PowerPC Mac, buy a new, secondhand, or refurbished Intel Mac.
If you have an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

i need to update to the latest version of itunes, but need to download some images and video first.....it is telling me that this will all be erased if i update, but it is not letting me do anything else.....what can i do??
You have no choice but to restore the phone.
However, I'm sure you've been smart enough to have backed up your data before starting the most significant update in iOS history, right? -
What is the most updated version of iTunes that I can download onto Mac OS X 10.4.11? The latest iTunes update requires 10.5...
Your MacBook Pro can be updated to run Mac OS X "Snow Leopard". Buy it. That will enable you to run the latest iTunes version.

Germany: http://store.apple.com/de/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Elsewhere: call the phone number in the Apple Online Store
Apple's price is $19.99, £14.00, €18. iTunes is still free. -
I have checked other itunes stores, and 1080p is available in almost all other european countries, including Greece and Italy.
This is really disapointing, especially considering that portuguese cable TV service providers "offer" these movies at lower rates.
Doies anyone know when will this issue be "solved".
Thank you in advance.

TiagoHello billwoodard11,
Thanks for the question. If your computer is not compatible with HD 1080p content, you should receive a prompt stating so - but should still be able to download the content for use on other devices. For more information, check out this resource:
Purchasing and viewing HD videos in iTunes - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201850
How to purchase, download, or view HD 1080p content
iTunes 10.6 by default is set to purchase, download, and playback HD content in 720p. You must change your local preference setting if you prefer to download, purchase, and playback HD content in 1080p. Depending on your computer's hardware configurations, you may be unable to purchase, rent, or playback content in 1080p. iTunes may display the following dialog:
On Mac or PC
Download the latest version of iTunes. You can download iTunes for free.
From the iTunes menu, choose iTunes > Preferences > Store (for PC, choose Edit > Preferences > Store).
Next to "When downloading High Definition videos, prefer:" set your preference to 1080p1.
Click OK. Now, when you purchase or download HD content, your computer will always download in 1080p, when available.
Depending on your computer's hardware limitations, you may be unable to purchase, rent, or view HD content from the iTunes Store. If you are trying to view HD video on an external display, the display must have a digital connection (DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI) and support HDCP.

Jolly Giant gave good advice re. ITunes and unable to download the latest version on my older Mac Mini. I downloaded ITunes 9.2 as he suggested but came to a standstill at the place where we "agree" with terms. Couldn't open this without Iwork which I don't have. Help! Carolyn
Hello, no way you should need iWork to "Agree"!?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
And if you're really at 10.4.2, then get this and apply it...
The combo update for PowerPC-based Macs...

Repair Permissions afterwords, reboot. -
What happened to my library? iTunes downloaded it's latest version and my library of over 10,000 songs ripped from over 1,000 cds disappeared! I WANT IT BACK!!!
Restore your library from a recent / current backup. If you've failed to maintain a backup of data you obviously regard as valuable, see turingtest2's user tip on Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

What is error 1202? I cannot connect to itunes store. i have downloaded the latest version of itunes and still not able to connect to itunes store.
For those who are getting annoyed, I have found a solution which requires you to create a new apple ID without using credit card information:
1. Go the app store
2. Hit cancel when it asks you to sign in (If it doesn't, continue to step 3)
3. Find a free app and try to download it
4. you to sign in option will appear, it will ask you if you want to use existing ID or create a new apple id. SELECT CREATE NEW APPLE ID
5. Follow the steps and when it gets to the stage it asks you for your card info, Choose 'None'
6. Full in all you name and address etc... And click next.
7. Verify your email and Enjoy downloading FREE apps
8. Say thank you as I do appreciate your love :) -
ITunes 11 Downloading Instead of Streaming
So unless I'm missing something, according to Apple the new iTunes 11 allows you to stream songs that are stored in the cloud, without having to first down them. I have a couple albums I purchased on my iPhone and show up in iTunes with the iCloud/download button like they should. But when I double-click a song it starts to download it, instead of streaming it. Once it's downloaded it plays like normal, but I don't understand why it's downloading instead of streaming.
Second issue I'm having is that complete albums are not showing up in iTunnes. I just purchased a single song, and from what I understand when I view it in album view it should (or at least can) show the rest of the album and offer me the chance to purchase additional songs. On my iPhone I can click the "Show Complete Album..." button in order to do this. But in iTunes all I get is the single song I've downloaded. How do I change this? The Mighty Mouse is the newer mouse, with left, right, middle, and side buttons. I believe what you mean is that the computer only has the older mouse, with one button.
What he meant was click the control key (not the Apple key, which is also called the command key) and left click with the mouse on the link. This should open up a small menu letting you save it to the desktop. The control key is two buttons to the left of the Apple (command) key on the standard size Apple keyboards. Remember to hold down the control key while clicking with the mouse.
Good luck.

Updated Apple software on my Iphone4s. Itune store did not download but my songs did. I cannot access Itune store app.
Hi, helpme177.
If you are experiencing issues with the iTunes Store failing to launch, there are a couple of things you can try. The first would be to reset all settings. Go toSettings > General > Reset > Reset all settings.
If the issue persists, try signing out of all services that require signing into your Apple ID and then signing back in.
