ITunes 11.0.4 not recognizing iPhone 4S

Hello,
I have currently wasted most of the friday trying to fix this without any luck. Previous version of iTunes didn´t recognize iPhone at first as well, but after reinstalling everything (everything from Apple) I have managed to fix it. But 11.0.4 is a different story.
If I uninstall all parts of iTunes, iPhone driver from Microsoft is installed after iPhone connection, device is recognized in Device Manager, I can copy photos from Explorer and Dropbox can upload photos automatically.
When I install iTunes, Device Manager no longer recognize iPhone (there is just Apple USB Driver), device is not visible in Explorer or Dropbox and most importantly it´s not visible in iTunes either.
I have tried every suggestion from web and from Apple pages (including a precise unistall steps) without any succes, it always leads to this.
Win 7 64 bit
iPhone 4 with newest iOS
Honestly I would be very surprised to get any advice helping me fix this but lets see. Please do not post links to Apple support pages, saw them done that.
Thanks
Davon
PS: sync still work fine on Macbook Pro, both iPhone and cable are ok, seems like a screwed up driver to me...

Just want to say I have not found any solution and I just gave up.
I have unistalled Apple USB Driver and installed driver from Microsoft. This way iPhone is at least visible as a device (I can see iPhone as hardware in control panels) and I can copy and delete photos from Camera Roll in Explorer + Dropbox can automatically upload new photos (no sync and backup though of course).
My only hope is that new iTunes version will fix this. My iPhone is getting old (home button is no longer working 100%) and I'm planning to buy new phone soon™. I just hope Apple will fix this, else I might buy some different device/brand (do not want to, but if it doesn't work)...

  • ITunes 7.3.2 not recognizing iPhone

I have a 12" 1.33Ghz G4 Powerbook that has just been updated to 10.4.10, iTunes 7.3.2 and has been brought up to date with Software Update (many times in the past 24 hours). The machine has two USB 2.0 ports. The iPhone is brand new and will show up normally in other machines and will even show up in System Profiler (on the USB bus) and in iPhoto as a camera, it just refuses to show up in iTunes 7.3.2. I even tried hooking an iPod up (2nd gen Nano via USB) and it shows up fine, it's just the iPhone that refuses to show up in iTunes.
I have tested a known good iPhone with the machine and it's the same situation, so it looks like it's a problem with iTunes. Has anyone else had this situation? Anyone have any ideas how to fix iTunes so that it will see the iPhone? I've already removed the preferences and reinstalled iTunes (updated version), that didn't help.

Instructions to get the phone back working temporary.. till there is a real fix.
    1. turn off the phone
    2. fire up iTunes
    3. press and hold the home button, plug in the cable, hold till you get to see the recovery mode
    4. iTunes will the allow to choose restore the phone back to 5.0.1 ( no other choice)
    5. iTunes will then ask you to choose which previous backup to would like to recover.
(note: please do not reboot your phone unless necessary, i realize at times after reboot, it goes back to sq1)

  • ITunes not recognizing iPhone 5 iO7 on Windows 7

I have exhausted myself dealing with this problem. My iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 5. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and my computer recognizes the phone when i plug it in, however, my iTunes does not so I am not able to sync any music. I have tried practically everything I have found on the internet to fix this problem and even the people at the Apple store could not help me with my problem. I have uninstalled and installed all Apple related programs, I have insured that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is working correctly but nothing seems to fix the problem. I just don't know what to do anymore because nothing seems to work. I have followed the suggestions contained in the following discussions but nothing seems to work. Thank you for your help.

    Had this problem this morning.
Once in the past had to erase my iphone and reload it.That was unpleasant.
    This morning had the problem,too.
Plugged in my iphone directly into the Imac (not hub) then clicked shut down on the imac.
Pressed the button in the back while the iphone was still plugged in-and when rebooted iphone was visable in itunes.
    Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I'm using a MacBook Air and I just tried this with my laptop - shutting down the computer all the say (not restarting it) and then booting it back up with the phone plugged in. It didn't work but it was worth a shot! Thank you!

I had this exact same problem and just figured out how to fix it. I had to reload the driver on the iphone5 in order for itunes to recognize the device. Follow the steps here to see if you might need to do the same thing. Once I reinstalled the driver, everything works fine and I'm now able to sync with itunes again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have seen a TON of posts like mine where this is the solution. Unfortunately, I am on a Mac not Windows so the driver isn't the problem.

  • My PC not recognizing iPhone

My Pc not recognizing iPhone. I tryed a lot of ways but nothing help.

If its anything like what my pc does from time to time... Is that when I plug in , Itunes "locks" up for a period of time followed by it finally "letting go" and then not seeing my iphone.  Granted, I use an Iphone 4 but none the less I'm assuming this is the issue you are having.
What I do (cant take credit for this, learned from another user on these boards) is hold your home button and power button at the same time.  Let the iphone turn off and then turn it back on.  Plug it back in , and it should be seen.  If that does not work (does not always for me) try it when the usb cable plugged in.   One or the other usually does the trick for me.
    Good luck!

  • Windows PC suddenly not recognizing iPhone. Recognizes another iPhone just fine. USB works until operating system in PC (XP) loads. Any clues out there?

Windows suddenly not recognizing iPhone, yet recognizes another iPhone fine (sees in iTunes, etc.) USB appears to be fine - passes electrical to iPhone until operating system (XP) boots, and then "disconnects". I've gone through all of Apples suggestions for troubleshooting - including msconfig. Same result - quick double "bong" tone and no connectivity to iTunes. Versions are all up-to-date.
    Any suggestions out there?

How did you get the VMWare sync to work? I hate Apple at this point.

  • Windows 7 and itunes 10.4 will not recognize iphone 4

windows 7 and itunes 10.4 will not recognize iphone 4.  iphone does not show up in device list in iTunes

Found my answer by sifting through all itunes questions.  (I tried earlier, but apparently chose the wrong key words.  In my successful search I just searched through everything itunes related.) There was a posting where someone indicated they could not open alternative libraries using the option key method, precisely my situation.  They stated that they solved the problem by appending a ".itl" at the end of the library file.  I tried this myself and sure enough, it worked.  Hopefully it will also work for all others who are suffering from this scenario.

  • HT1923 i have installed the updated itunes but it is not recognizing my devices can anyone help

i have installed updated version of itunes but it is not recognizing my devices can anyone help

    Many thanks.
That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Mercedez Benz COMAND System not recognizing iPhone 5 after iOS 8 update, can we expect the same result with iPhone 6 or 6 plus?
I'm planning to purchase the 6 plus, but I need to know from where.whom will the fix for this problem emerge.

My new iPhone 6 paired perfectly with my Mercedes system.  That said, on your iPhone 5, reset your network settings and then try to pair it again.

  • ITunes 8.2 not recognizing iPhone 3G

I have an Intel iMac and since the upgrade, iTunes is not recognizing my iPhone anymore. iPhoto does not open on its own anymore either. I have checked preferences etc., but cannot find how to correct this. I have also done a soft and hard reset on the iPhone.
    Thanks

    I'm having the same problem.
I saw that there was a new version of software available for my iPhone yesterday and decided to download it.
First I had to upgrade iTunes. I followed all the instructions but when the system restart occured, there was a glitch of some sort and it took a while for the installer to figure it out and fix it.
After *successfully validating the install*, it would not recognize my iPhone - which was connected to it moments before the install started. It repeatedly had me disconnect it and then reconnect it trying to see who's phone it was. Finally I rebooted again and it recognized the phone and downloaded and installed the new 3.0 operating system and then it re-sync'd the phone.
Everything was working fine at this point.
I eject the iPhone from the menu and later go to reconnect it to add some playlists I had made.
Again it does not recognize the iPhone - it knows one is there but can't figure out whose it is! Rebooting, disconnecting ect... doesnt help.
There is nothing in the Help Manual to steer me in the right direction.
    Anyone have any ideas?
