ITunes 11.1.1 lacking radio.

Just got suckered into "updating" to iTunes 11.1.1 and now don't have the radio stations.  It says I can create my own but I would like to have the old ones back.  That was the only part of iTunes I really used.  Am I not using the program properly?  Are the stations in there still?  Help!

Just in case anyone else has this problem and finds my original post.  This is where the stations are now located in iTunes.  They are not under the "Radio" tab, they are under the "Internet" tab.  Here's a link to another discussion that explains it. https://discussions.apple.com/message/23343116#23343116

Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock?
I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?
    Many thanks

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
    1.  In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
    2.  Export the playlist (as .m3u works well).  Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
    3.  In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
    4.  Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
    5.  For "alarm" select Open File.
    6.  Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open.  It will probably be some default entry (like iCal).  Click on it will allow you to select "other."  Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time.  You don't need to keep iCal running.  If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do.  Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button.  Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

    Hello fortcoins,
It may help to turn iTunes Match off, then back on.
Windows: While holding down the shift key, choose Store > Turn Off iTunes Match.
Turn iTunes Match on by selecting Store > Turn On iTunes Match.

I'm having exactly the same problem, with this station only. Anyone?

  • Does iTunes 11 still offer the radio streams that the previous editions did?

Does iTunes 11 still offer the radio streams that the previous editions did? For instance I could listen to Canadian Brodcasting from all over Canada, or NPR stations in different cities. I know they've added a Pandora like feature, but I'd like to keep the streaming radion feature as is.

Most concerning for this this writer is the removal of the user generated iMix ecosystem.  I am asking iTunes to bring back the iMix and I encourage you to do the same at their feedback page http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
I believe honest word of mouth  is the best recommendation and the iMix ecosystem contains plenty.  There are over zealous self promoters and fanatical fans in there  too but at least the content its real opinion and generated by real people.  Which is far better that the beefed “Listeners Also Bought” box which just looks like machine generated advertising to me."
I just sent them feedback I suggest everyone do so.

  • My iPad will not let me download an iTunes movie due to lack of space but I purchased more space and it still won't work

My iPad will not let me download an iTunes movie due to lack of space but I purchased more space and it still won't work

As stated above - purchasing more space in iCloud has nothing to do with this. You do not have enough space left on the iPad for the movie to download, you need to delete content on the device itself.
You may want to transfer purchases to iTunes and then delete some content on the device to make room.
    Transfer purchases.

  • IMac 10.6.8 and new itunes 11.1.1  NO RADIO

To use iTunes Radio, you must have iOS 7 or OS X Lion v10.7 or later, iTunes 11.1, or Apple TV 6.0 or later installed on your device or computer as well as an Apple ID for use in the iTunes Store.

How do you get Itunes to go to the free radio station list, I'm not talking about the one that lists the price next to the song that's playing, I'm talking about the one that gives you 50 diffrent genes to select from?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
But answering quickly, if you mean the streaming stations, click the Internet item:
If you don't see that item, checkmark "Internet Radio" in the General preferences in iTunes.
    Regards.

  • ITunes does no longer play radio streams

Since update to Version 11.0.2 none of my saved radio stations is available. If I click on "play" iTunes plays the next album but not the selected stream. Same thing if I want to add a new stream - it plays my recorded voice mails instead of the streams. Any hints?

That was obviously not the problem (I've seen that other users had this kind of problem).
Radio button was in place and I could see all my radio stations - but none of them was playing.
Today I was trying again - and miracle: all streams work!
Since I didn't change my settings or version I guess that the problem was elsewhere (or within iTunes).
Unfortunately this will not help other people having the same problem - I don't know why it's solved now.

  • Itunes 10.5.3 update radio issue.

Just had a software update notification for iTunes with the new iBooks stuff in, so I updated it, like you do, and now it continually tries to update radio lists, and keeps throwing up error messages, stopping me from usingTunes.
Clicking the X in the window to cancel it doesn't work, the only way I can stop the error message is to close iTunes
the error message says; "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later."
There's nothing wrong with my internet connection, but it does seem to happen after my iPhone connects via wifi

I often got this message with 10.2, then I updated to 10.3 today and suddenly I started getting it all the time (several error messages a minute). In another thread on issue, someone recommended disabling Radio in Parental Controls and I did so ~5 minutes ago and it seemed to work. Granted, if you actually use Radio then this isn't a solution, but I never do so I'm happy with this solution.

  • ITunes won't play the radio

This has been going on for about a week or two. I open iTunes and try to tune into a radio station but an error message keeps popping up...'An error occured while trying to contact the radio tuning service...try later'
Anyone else getting the same problem?
Believe it or not everyone, I thought I would just conduct a little experiment. I disabled my firewall, McAfee and the radio worked. If anyone is having problems with the radio and happens to use McAfee, disable the firewall.
    Problem solved :o)
    Thanks.
    Kate.

No, it's not due to the iOS. How are you connecting the iPad to the car sound system?

  • ITunes 10.4 - Bug, No radio

    HI,
Since I have installed iTunes 10.4, my RADIO don`t work. No sound.
And If I go back to my playlist, it crashes, no sound too.
I have to turn it off and turn it on.....
    Idea?

    Hello Maccers,
    English:
I'm got also the same problem with covers in Finder, So i'm opening some Mp3 files it will automatic opens iTunes and add them to my iTunes Library, if i wanna edit some ID3 tags that works full but the coverillustration doesnt appears in iTunes or it takes a few seconds when it appears (i'm use BMP pictures), But since i have updated my iTunes to 10.4 it even never appears on the thumbnails in Finder and the strange things is, I have it only with iTunes 10.4 edited Mp3 files.
Not with with Mp3 files i'm edited at iTunes 10.3 10.2 10.1 10.0 or earlier they just have album-art thumbnails on iTunes and Finder.

  • Itunes 7.0.1 streaming radio and airtunes stutters/ drops out

    Hi there,
With both the upgrade? to 7 and 7.0.1 there is suttering and dropping out of audio when listening to streaming radio thru airtunes. The problem doesn't exist when using realplayer and airfoil accessing the airport express. I know others have experienced this. I thought it would be fixed with this upgrade. Do you think it will be fixed anytime soon?
    thanks,
    rwa

I'm also having the stuttering / dropping out problem.
It seems to me that the latest iTunes (7.0.1) and AE have trouble keeping in sync.
Selecting 'Multiple Speakers' does fix the problem for me, though it's annoying to do that in some situations.
I use AirTunes over both wired (100mbit) and 802.11g conntections, using several computers (a 733mhz G4, powerbook, and macbook). I get the same problem with dropouts / buffering on ALL of them. It's definitely iTunes.

  • ITunes fails due to lack of Quicktime

A few weeks ago, I had been using iTunes 6 just fine, until I decided to download my first song in a while, and it prompted me to update to iTunes 7. No big deal, I thought. They design these things to be user-friendly. I'll have my song in a few hours.
I downloaded iTunes 7 and Quicktime, installed them as directed, but when I attempted to open iTunes, I got the infamous "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" error message, which asks if I want to report the problem to Windows. Saying no, I tried to open iTunes again, to the same effect. I realized the problem was with Quicktime when a couple other programs I have that rely on it wouldn't open, with the same problem.
I've gone through Apple's support pages, and uninstalled iTunes. But when I go to uninstall Quicktime, it cannot complete the uninstallation due to a "fatal error." I also cannot reinstall, because apparently I have a "newer version" already installed. I've tried downloading the standalone version of Quicktime, but that got a similar "newer version" message.
(I cannot even do a system restore, because apparently while manually deleting files (as Apple instructs in its "uninstall iTunes" help bit), I've deleted something that cannot be restored with System Restore.)
How can I get Quicktime functional again?
    Dell Inspiron 1100 Windows XP
    Dell Inspiron 1100 Windows XP

I kept a handy little log of what I was doing as I followed your instructions:
I've downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, found that there was a Quicktime listing, and removed it.
There are no iTunes listings in my add/remove programs list.
When I now try to uninstall Quicktime, I get the message, "Quicktime Streaming Authoring failed to load because the versions of Quicktime Streaming and Quicktime Streaming Authoring do not match," and then "Quicktime Streaming Extras failed to load because the versions of Quicktime Streaming and Quicktime Streaming Extras do not match."
Then the "Installer VISE uninstall application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." (The error report indicates a "ModName" of "quicktime.qts")
I freshly downloaded standalone QT and iTunes 7.0.2
I restarted my computer (trying to follow directions on the "Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows" page. (it's worth noting that the little QT shortcut icon has been replaced with a Windows default)
I deleted all the iTunes, iPod, and QT files and folders it wanted deleted.
While emptying the recycle bin I got "Cannot delete Dc25 file" (or something like that) "because it is being used by another program. Please close the program and try again." I closed all programs except for the explorer window showing the recycle bin, but I kept getting the same message, so I skipped the "empty recycle bin" step. ;(
I restarted my computer once more (as per instructions)
QT standalone has been successfully installed (w00t)
    I restarted my computer.
    iTunes successfully installed. (*major celebration*)
And ... cringes iTunes opened successfully and is currently compiling my Library!! THANK YOU!!
I seriously owe you my life or something. If this wasn't the internet, I would bake you cookies or some such similar pastry. THANK YOU SO MUCH! kowtows

  • ITunes 11.4 lost some Radio Stations in My Stations

I used to have 10-12 radio stations in My Stations. I woke up this morning and found there are only 6 stations left. Can someone suggest how I should investigate the issues? Thanks.

I just tried to re-add all the streaming stations back into my playlist and now it seems to be working!
