ITunes 11.1.3.8 doesn't recognize my iPod touch 4

Everything was just fine a month ago. Now, my PC (SONY Vaio Windows 8.1) does recognize my iPod (in Computer), but iTunes doesn't (newest version 11.1.3.8).
I've searched before here in the Apple Support Community, but I couldn't seem to find the right solution to this annoying problem. I've tried many ways to restore somehow iTunes, by re-installing it, by pressing the home button on my iPod. But none of these solved my problem!
I'm so mad cause it's been a month or so now that I can't sync my music library into my iPod Music.
Throughout this month I've looked for solutions on the Support section of the Apple website, but something always came up on the way.
I know this has been a problem for many people and I also aknowledge the fact that most of those people solved the problem. But I COULDN'T!!!
If please someone helps me, I'd be grateful.
Thank you in advance.

  • I updated to iTunes 10.2.2, and now it doesn't recognize my iPod Touch!

I updated my computer to Snow Leopard, and I was prompted to update iTunes to 10.2.2. Okay, did that. Now iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod whatsoever! But my computer does as a whole: i.e., Aperture automaticaly opens as it usually does when I plug in my iPod.
So this is great. And there's no bug fix; I've googled for the past hour now. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix? Because for now, I can't update my iPod at all!

  • My itunes doesn't recognize my ipod touch because I've never connected it before and it is disabled, it won't let me restore it, it says to enter a passcode in order to connect and I can't because it is disabled

My ipod touch is disabled and it says to connect to itunes to restore.  I have never added the ipod to my devices on my itunes so when I connect it says that itunes doesn't recognize the device.  I then put it in recovery mode and connected it to itunes and I clicked restore and it says that itunes can't connect until I put in the passcode, but I can't put in a passcode because it is disabled!!!  I don't know how to fix it and it is only a month old, should I take it back?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • Itunes crashes when iPod is connected and doesn't recognize it (iPod touch)

Help! Whenever I plug my iPod in my iTunes freezes! Both my iPod and iTunes work perfectly fine it's just when my iPods connected. It also doesn't recognize it but it appears on my computer. It was fine before and this problem only occurred very recently. I have the newest iTunes. Any ideas on what I could do? Thanks for your help

My problem still isnt solved however I have got further. This has taken me many hours but by searching for ages, i tried the msconfig idea on itunes. After following the instructions, i found that it stopped my itunes from crashing. I then found the root of the problem - it was the Apple Mobile Device which was interfering and crashing my itunes. So i deleted it and yes my itunes was not crashing however I need it to sync my ipod..hmm.. so if I reinstall it, it crashes my itunes and if I dont, I still cannot sync my ipod.
Im not too sure what to do now however I feel a sense of achievement for getting somewhere.. Thanks for your help again X

  • HELP! iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod touch

okay well i've had my ipod touch for a few months now and i've never had a problem with iTunes not recognizing it or anything until now. The last time i put new songs on my ipod was december 23/08 and it worked perfectly, but now i go and plug my ipod into the computer and iphoto opens up and recognizes it just like usual; so no problem there. but then itunes on the other hand has that little loading circle that says that its loading but it's been like that for half and hour and hasnt done anything. I right clicked on the icon and it says "Application not responding" in light grey letters. I know that the USB ports arent faulty or anything because on my ipod it says that its charging. To fix it ive tried reseting my ipod, reseting the computer, updating itunes, downloading itunes and installing it all over again, plugging it into another USB port and still nothing at all happens. It has been like this for the past week and is getting very frustrating.
Im not sure what else to do. do you think it's my ipod? or itunes? If anyone knows why this is happening please tell me! any help is deeply appreciated!
(I put this question in the itunes section and ipod touch because i wasnt sure which one it belonged in)

Does this problem occur when you open iTunes without having your iPod connected? You migh want to try the uing the disk utility to repair disk permissions. It's in Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility. Click on the drive that iTunes is on and click repair permissions.

  • HELP!! itunes doesn't recognize my ipod touch and i've tried everything!!!

Alright, so i got an ipod touch this morning and came home to put music on it. first things first, it read it as a camera. i downloaded the new version of itunes and that seemed to take care of that problem. I tried everything on the apple website to try and fix the problem but it just won't read it. It works fine on my mom's computer but all my music is on this computer. what can i do??

Ok people after messing up three days with my jailbroken ipod touch cauze my itunes didn't recognize it i figured out that the problem is first windows recognized it as a imaging device o as a camera, i found in the device manager was listed mi apple ipod under portable devices and there was the problem it has to be listed under universal serial bus controllers named as a apple ipod so this is what i did but first make sure u have correctly installed itunes and the apple mobile device support:
1 open the device manager or windows button + r is run and then type devmgmt.msc
2 look for the portable devices and find the apple ipod or wherever that is listed on your pc.
3 once u find the apple ipod do a right click on it and click on uptade driver software
4 take the manualy opcion or browse on my computer and then look for this folder on your computer C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
there should be the driver that itunes recognize and your windows wont recognize your ipod as a camera again but i repeat u have to make sure u have installed the apple mobile device support u can get it by extracting the itunes+quicktime package using winrar. so click on update or next what ever on the update process and next time itunes will open your ipod for sincying thanks to forums ilounge.com

  • ITunes doesn't recognize my iPod touch 1G

    Hello,
I have an iPod touch 1G (iPhone OS 3.0) and suddenly iTunes stops to recognize it. I tried with two cables (iPod touch and iPhone) and on a PC (windows 7 and windows XP) and on my Mac (Snow Leopard) and nothing recognize.
It is as if there was nothing in the USB, but I believe there is no problem with the cable and not with the hardware of the iPod, because I load the iPod with the battery taken from the iPhone.
I tried to enter restore mode, it appears the cable and iTunes on the screen, but as any computer recognizes can not reinstall the iPhone OS.
    Does anyone know a solution?

  • My PC iTunes doesn't recognize my Ipod touch as a device???

    Hi there,
I am fairly new to the world of Apple, but am using many devices now for my small business. I have an Iphone 4S, an  Ipad 2, and 2 Ipod touch 4th generations.
My computer recognizes all the devices, except for one of the Ipod Touchs. I am not sure what to do. When I connect it to my PC it makes a sound, but not the same sound the other devices make when they are recognized.
    I would appreciate any help,
    Thanks!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
