  • ITunes to iPod Video transfer issues

    Hi there
I've been having some trouble transfering a specific video file from itunes onto my iPod. It's in the proper format and is in my itunes video library (and plays fine there) but it simply won't do the automatic transfer to the ipod. I've tried deleting the file and reconverting the original source file(an mpeg) into the ipod format, but still no luck.
The weirdest part is that the file is part of a television series, and every other episode of the series transfers fine, this one simply doesn't register.
Thanks in advance for any help, this problem really is getting frustrating.

Do you get an error message saying that some of the files cannot be transfered, blah, blah, blah ?
Does the message bar in itunes tell you a file is being transfered?
Perhaps the file is transfered over-just not where you think it should be....have you checked the recently added playlist under videos?

  • Video transfer issue from iPhone

    Hello!
I own iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd Generation) and regularily make video with both devices and then transfer the video to my PC via the USB cable and then play the videos in Quick Time on the PC.
Prior to updating to iOS 6 on both my iDevices on September 19, I had no problems at all. The videos transferred properly and I was able to view them on my PC in Quick Time. Today (September 25), I made a video on my iPhone 4S, transferred it to my PC the way I always have (via USB), and when I opened it in Quick Time, I just got a black screen with no audio. I then tried the same thing with my iPad (3rd Generation) and had the same results.
The videos played perfectly on the iOS devices on which they were shot.
Anybody else having these issues? What can I do to fix this?

in case you ended up on this thread via web search (as I did today),
I'll post how I solved it when it happened to me.
the issue was caused by importing 3 months of camera roll using Image Capture (I do not use iPhoto anymore).
after importing all the items, I selected them all in the Image Capture window and clicked on "delete".
a few ghost files (video only) were left behind, all of them 0 Bytes.
tried disconnecting/restarting the device but the issue persisted.
no way to delete the video references from the mac.
had to go in camera roll and manually delete them all.
using "select' on the top right you can tap them and delete after they are all checked.
    hope this helps someone
    u.

  • C7 video transfer issue

    Hello new poster here!
Ive done a search regarding this issue but cant find anything so sorry if its been bought up before.
Anyway the problem i have is when i have taken videos, they playback fine on the device but as soon as i transfer them to my PC the image slows down but the sound remains original. Its like watching in slow motion.
Ive tried transferring via OVI (which the quality is worst and juttery) and just general copy and paste into my videos.
Hope someone can help me please.

when you say you open it in media player , have you already put the video file on your pc ? Or playing via usb from phone ? Have you tried VLC player ? HD video plays fine on my pc you may have some codec's missing , maybe try updating media player or trying a different one ?
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

  • Ipad2 sync & video transfer issues

I am running windows vista.  My ipad2 is having synching issues where sometimes it will sync and sometimes not.  When it fails to sync, it will sometimes lock up completely in mid-synch.  Other times, it will give me a message saying that it could not synch to an unknown error.  If I try it mutliple times, it will sometimes sync, but when it does, it is now not transferring video (a couple of movies and tv shows) to the ipad.  Any suggestions?

    Scastl-
Be sure you are connecting to a USB-2 port on your computer.  Older USB-1 connections are not reliable with the iPad.
It might help to re-install iTunes.  Make sure you have the latest version.
One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Restarting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
If nothing else helps, you might have a bad USB cable for your iPad.  Have an Apple Store Genius take a look at it.  They should be able to do diagnostics to pinpoint the problem.

  • Itunes 7.4.1.2 video import issues

The Apple sample QT file can be imported into Itunes and copied to my new classic 160gb no problem but files generated by Videora and/or Xilisoft Ipod video convertor from Xvid/264 sources both fail. They are either ignored by itunes when I try to add them (.mp4 files) or cannot be copied to the Ipod because they are "not in a supported format". As both these products are specifically designed to produce files that are compatible with the IPOD, there is surely somthing wrong with ITunes 7.4.1.2.
    Anyone any ideas ?
(I tried reinstalling itunes, no change)

You're probably not doing anything wrong. Videora and other programs that lead us to believe they are "specifically designed" to create iPod-friendly video often don't. I tried Videora's basic iPod mode on half a dozen sitcom AVIs before giving up. None of the resulting MPEG-4 files would import into iTunes. Thank goodness for Pinnacle Studio, whose iPod output setting is simple and perfect.

  • Bluetooth Video Transfer Issues

I put together a quick slide show like video on iMovie with a few simple transitions and visual effects.
I put just a little 'black space' inbetween each photo.
The video is only 90 seconds long
I can send it to my Moto RAZR via bluetooth connection. The first picture shows up and all the music is there. Unfortunately, thats it, none of the other pictues or effects come through.
    Thanks in advance!
    Derek Merdinyan

im not sure if this will help, I remember my Razr not having the CPU power to play some videos that are a higher quality and i will either end up with a slideshow effect (VERY jumpy video) and maybe sound or a blank screen, you may have to fiddle with quality settings and bitrates etc to get a smooth image,
if your version can take video (not all of them can) record something, send it to the mac and use quicktime to examine all the dimentions and bitrates etc and try to clone those for your video.
    hope that helps

  • IPhoto Video transfer issue

Hello, I'm stuck and need some help. I have 8 video clips that imported to iPhoto with no problem, but the last one will not import. It is on my D5000 Nikon and it plays back for me on the camera, but will not import to iPhoto? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • WINDOWS VISTA ITUNES VIDEO PLAYBACK ISSUE!!!!!! AAHHHHHHH!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!

am using a Dell XPS GEN 5 PC with Windows Vista Premium Edition as the current OS installed. I have latested up date for Itunes and QuickTime (7.1.6) Installed. I have recently bought and downloaded 3 of the Original Star Trek Tv Shows from Itunes. When I try and play one of them, they don't work. The Screen comes up, the show starts, then stops. Sometimes the sound keeps on playing, and then stops. Sometimes it just dosent even come on. I'm guessing (as a highly advanced Windows PC User) That this ia a "video/playback issue, related to a Apple/Vista Compatibility problem. I would like help solving this problem.

    hi slideaway!
my computer has a right proper meltdown, switching itself off and restarting to a "Windows has recovered from a serious error" sort of message.
good lord. are you getting any sort of blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
here's a reference on the sorts of things i'm asking about:
    Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages
if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), we can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear for us:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.
    love, b

  • Video Playback Issues in iTunes, MPEG4 vs h.264

Has anyone had a problem playing MPEG4 videos in iTunes? I'm not sure when it started, but I first noticed it a month or more ago with the commandn mpeg4 podcast feed. I switched to the h.264 feed and it's great. The audio if fine, but the video is choppy. I also have been encoding Video_TS folders (legally, not commercial DVDs) using handbrake to .mp4 files, I get the same choppiness when I encode a regular file, but when I use h.264 encoder it's fine (but takes forever to encode). Any thoughts on why iTunes won't play MPEG4 video well? Thanks
    Dave

Do you have any plugins? If so, have you try disabling/deleting them?
Also, try creating a new user in Mac OS X and see if the same issue occurs. If it doesn't happen in a new user (which will have a fresh set of preferences), you know it's a corrupt preference in your main user. With that in mind, try deleting your iTunes plist.
1.) With iTunes closed, go to Home > Library > Preferences
2.) Find com.apple.itunes.plist and delete it
    3.) Restart
4.) Open iTunes and test it

  • I'm having issues with my TV programmes artwork. It shows in iTunes but not on the Videos app.

I'm having issues with my TV programmes artwork. The artwork shows in iTunes but not on the Videos app. Is anyone else having a similar issue?

    Your feed is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/GPKwx
The latest episode in it is 23 July: the later episodes haven't made it into the feed so either the connection to Feedburner has failed or there is something about the recent episodes which is causing them not to make it into the feed. It's not obvious from looking at the web page what this might be.

  • Video Playback issues with Ipod and Itunes

OK I just bought some episodes of a TV show last night, and I put them on my ipod(5th gen. 30GB). About halfway-sometimes 2/3-of the way through, the video stops playing, no audio, no movement, just stops like it is paused. I deleted them off my ipod, made sure my ipod was up to date, and put them back on. Problems still there. Then i went to watch them in Itunes, and in the same places they freeze again. Itunes is up to date too.So now i have these videos that i paid for, that don't work completely on either my Ipod nor on Itunes. Help Please?

the good news is that you have pretty much isolated the issue. if the videos don't play completely on either the ipod or itunes, then the videos or tv shows are possibly corrupted. what you can do is contact the itunes store via a web form ( click here to go to form and scroll to the bottom)
tell the itunes store your tv shows have playback issues and say the same thing you posted. the itunes store should allow you to re-download the tv shows.

  • Itunes on Windows laptop need to transfer to Mac Book Pro

I am new to my Mac Book Pro (4 days) and love it. However, my iTunes library is on my Windows laptop and I want to know how to transfer my iTunes account (and the songs that I have bought via iTunes) to my new Mac. There are only purchased tracks on the iTunes library, but my iPod (80gb) contains some of my CD collection as well as the purchased tracks. As I am in the process of getting my CD collection onto the iPod, I sync manually. Also, the iPod is set up to work on Windows and not Mac. Could somebody please help me and advise what I need to do, and in what order - Help! Many thanks

*my iPod (80gb) contains some of my CD collection as well as the purchased tracks. As I am in the process of getting my CD collection onto the iPod, I sync manually. Also, the iPod is set up to work on Windows and not Mac.*
Macs can read Windows drives so you should be able to connect the iPod to the Mac without any issue. One proviso is that up until now Apple has only fully supported using the iPod shuffle in FAT32 format on Mac (unless the range has been expanded to include the iPhone and the iPod Touch which I've no experience of). What this means effectively is that if you need to apply a firmware update for your iPod and you wanted to maintain the Windows format you would have to do it on a PC. If you were to try and update a Windows based iPod on a Mac it would be restored and reformatted to the Mac file system and have the Mac firmware installed.
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to load your Mac iTunes from the iPod. The transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
