Me too. And if someone comes back on here with the same solution of "uninstall and re-install", please provide further advice after you have done that 3 times and the program still has the same problem in addition to the "failure to load the C runtime library" R6034 issue. I have removed itunes 3 times however I do not have permission to remove the program files/apple file and the uninstall doesn't remove it.

I am trying to install the update "Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.1 (KB2974008) " and when I try to install it, it states that it is not applicable to my computer which is Windows 8.1. Is there some prerequisite update
I need prior to installing this? Event log states that Windows update could not be installed because of error 2149842967.

the patch is already few months old; it might have been superseeded or included in some rollup.
check your fileversions against those listed in the kb.

HT2404 After installing Mountain Lion, I get a message that speechsynthesisserver.app had an error and could not be installed. What does this mean? Also my mouse does not scroll up/down as it did before.

What is speechsynthesisserver.app? Twice I received a message from Mountain Lion that this could not be installed due to an error. Is this significant?

Regarding the scrolling, SYSTEM PREFERENCES>TRACKPAD>SCROLL & ZOOM, uncheck 'Scroll direction: natural.

I can get to itunes but when I select anything an error comes up 'your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store' What is this and how to I fix it?

When I open the store in general (from my PC - Windows Vista), I get a message saying "Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the Canadian Store."

I foolishly installed a "better" version of the Azure tools foe VS2010 and now I get various error messages, including the one in the title of this post.
The error comes up when I simply create a new Cloud Web Role project.
When I compile I get these two:
WebRole.cs(5,30): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Diagnostics' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft.WindowsAzure' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
I "fixed" that one by removing the line which the wizard helpfully put in for me.

An update tries to run, but an error message stating "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again." I can't open Firefox

I click on Firefox and it says that Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few minutes. Then I get "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again." this cycle never ends. Do I need to deinstall Firefox and re-install? If I do that, do i lose all of my bookmarks, etc?

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder:

*Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
*Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer. Do not remove personal data when uninstalling.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

I have a 16 GB iPhone 4S. Tonight when I went to sync with my iTunes on my MacPro, I received an error message that the iPhone could not be sync'ed because it needed 6.25 GB more space. I still have 2.5 GB free. I sync'ed last night fine. How could I need 8.75 GB (6.25 +2.5) more space on a 16GB iPhone. I have added nothing but audio podcasts to my iTunes library on my Mac in the last two days and I have not change the sync setting on my iPhone. Something has gone haywire. Any ideas. I resolved this after some analysis. Turnes out that iTunes was not recognizing that my music was already installed on my iPhone, so when I tried to sync, iTunes was attempting to load all my music a second time, and there was not enough room on my iPhone for that. I did a restore from backup today and this appears to have resolved the problem. I initiatied an iTunes sync and it worked fine. Not sure where the glitch was. Could have been in the latest update of the iTunes software. Not sure. Anyway, I'm good now.

After downloading Zotero (a plug in that is in theory custom-designed for firefox), I get an error message that says "zotero could not be installed because firefox could not modify the needed file". That's all the detail I have.

You get this error if you install an extension that needs to be unpacked in order to work properly, but this isn't happening. The default is to copy the file to the extensions folder and rename the file part to the ID of the extension.

You can try to set the extensions.alwaysUnpack pref(s) on the <b>about:config</b> page to true.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end side of the Search Bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.sqlite file if present.

I am retrieving a SSRS 2005 report Pdf through .net coding.
when i am browsing that report,it is showing error "File is damaged and could not be repaired". I tried with Adobe reader 9 and Adobe Reader 8 also.Still the error is coming.

Couple things must help you...
If you have Windows 7:
1. Click the Start button, then 'Control Panel'.
2. Click 'Default Programs'.
3. Click 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program'.
4. In the list that appears, locate '.acsm', click on it to highlight it, then click 'Change
program'.
5. Select 'Adobe Digital Editions' and click 'OK'.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 for the '.epub' extension as well.
If you have Windows Vista:
1. Click the Start button, then 'Control Panel'.
2. Click 'Program'.
3. Click 'Default Programs'.
4. Click 'Make a File Type Always Open in a Specific Program'.
5. In the list that appears, locate '.acsm', click on it to highlight it, then click 'Change
program'.
6. Select 'Adobe Digital Editions' and click 'OK'.
7. Repeat steps 5-6 for the '.epub' extension as well.
If you have a Mac OS:
1. Hold the Ctrl button and click on the .acsm file.
2. Click 'Open With', then click 'Other...'.
3. In the list of programs displayed, select Adobe Digital Editions.
4. Check the 'Always Open With' box so the .acsm file type will always open in ADE.
5. Repeat this process for the .epub extension as well.

after perusing other subjects with playback issues:
this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.
