ITunes 11.1.4 sync over Wi-Fi works ok, but over USB it is not possible
I use iTunes 11.1.4 on a PC with Windows 8.1. Within iTunes one can see my iOS devices (2 with iOS 7.0.4 and 1 with iOS 5.1.1). All of theme can be synced over Wi-Fi but not over USB. But useing the windows explorer on the same PC one can open the discspaces of the iOS devices connected by USB.
iTunes tells me that there is no device over USB connected. The iTunes test tells me that there are not USB Connections found. Does anyone know thies problem?
Now I could fix the problem by removeing "iTunes", "apple software update", "apple mobile device support" and "apple application support". Then I downloaded iTunes new and installed it. Now I can sync over Wi-Fi and over USB as it should be - problem solved.

As the topic heading states... if I airplay anything from an iOS device I have no issues but from my Mac Mini I am plagued with problems. If I airplay iTunes Match to Apple TV quite often the sound will drop or stutter. I will have to pause the song and start it again.
Also I can be playing everything fine and then all of a sudden my Mac will lose sight of the Apple TV and the only thing that will resolve it is restarting the Apple TV.

My 6th Generation Nano Shuts down my Thinkpad, I've tried uninstalling iTunes, turning off auto sync'ing and restoring my ipod, but every time I plug in my iPod, my whole pc goes blue and then reboots in safe mode. Please Help. Thanks.

I am going to have to agree with planb77. Look into other drivers in your computer causing the issue, not just the nano's drivers.
It is possible that security software is the culprit. Use this:
iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues
You may have to restore your computer to a previous point. From before the issue started. Contact computer manufacture or Windows for steps, or do a search with a search engine.
I would test the ipod on a known good computer to see if its the ipod is the issue. My gut says no. You can set a reservation at an Apple Retail Store. Apple.com/retail .You can also test a known good ipod on your computer.

hi, I managed to update both Itunes and my ios to the latest versions (10.5 and 5 respectively). I'm unable to see the "Sync over wifi" option in itunes. Can anyone help?
Maybe that's why I got lucky? I have 10.7.2. I have to tell you howeer that I did not check any check box in settings on the Notebook to enable Wifi sync, or in iTunes on the notebook. I did have options when setting up the iPad and I selected sync with computer rather than back up to cloud. Maybe that is another difference? I feel feel fortunate that as I type this my iPad is syncing over wifi and you're all having trouble.
Just to confirm I have iTunes 10.5 MacOSX 10.7.2 and iOS5 installed on the iPad. I'm going to dive in and do the phone now too. I will report any troubles, or pay more careful attention when the iCloud settings and set up come on the screen. Maybe I did something else I don't remember. -
Changes to my iTunes library aren't syncing over to my phone
The title basically says it all.
I've been having this issue for the past week. I added some new songs to my library (yes, they're in the iTunes folder on my computer as well, so I know I added them correctly) and tried to sync them. I checked my phone, and saw that only the new songs I added had synced, while the titles/artist name of other songs I edited haven't synced over.
So basically...
-New songs are syncing.
-Edits to songs that were already in my library aren't syncing.
My warranty is up on my phone, and I really don't have 20$ to pay Apple for support. Is this problem happening with anyone else? What can I do to fix it?
Again, I added the songs through the iTunes folder on my computer, so I know I added them right. As for the changes to names of artists/some other songs, they're appearing in my library, but they just won't sync to the phone.Hi Shneg1,

You can use these steps to authorize your computer for iTunes purchases:
Open iTunes on the computer you want to authorize.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You might need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still use it to authorize your computer.

Hi, I just recently burned one of my personal CD's onto my itunes so I could sync it to my ipod touch. After the CD was done burning, I dragged the music over to the ipod so it could sync, but nothing happened. I have tried several times and even with other music and none of my music will sync onto my ipod. Can somebody please help me with this?

After upgrading iPod Touch 2nd gen some apps sync over and others do not
After upgrading my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to OS 3, skype and TextFree Unlimited sync over, but 9-Toolbox, Gas Cubby Lite, fring and TooDoo do not. They show up as installed in iTunes, but do not sync onto my iPod Touch. Is this because the apps themselves have not been updated to work on OS 3, or could there be a syncing problem?

If you're trying to pull a movie off a commercial DVD, into iTUnes so you can sync it you can't.
First, the iPad usually wants .mp4 files, which dvd's aren't. Second, most commercial dvd's have encryption on them to prevent copying, which is probably what's getting in your way. Since breaking that encryption is illegal in the US, the terms of use here forbids anyone to tell you how to break that encryption. You'd need to search elsewhere and find that answer on your own.
For most people, purchasing a copy from iTunes or other source is usually the easiest and most time efficient thing to do. It can literally take hours to search out, rip and convert a commercial DVD. In a fraction of that time you can download a legal copy. -
I use outlook 2007to manage both contacts and calendar. I have a new iPhone 5. Is the bestr way to update iCloud to do manual iTune updates and then sync to the iCloud.
You want to avoid syncing calendars and contacts with both iCloud and iTunes. Doing so will result in the creation of duplicates. If you want to sync your iPhone calendar and contacts with iCloud, consider also syncing your computer with iCloud (requires Vista SP2 or higher and Outlook 2007 or higher). iCloud will then keep the calendar and contacts on your phone in sync with Outlook without using iTunes. (You would still, of course, continue to sync with iTunes for your other iTuens media.)

My external device is having male USB connector. The cable available in market are having can be plugged to the device having female connector.I will need converter in between as my device is having male connector. Can i get such cable? If yes can i establish communication in between my app and device over these cables.I am not passing any audio/video data or photos.I am sending data frames. Sync over Wi-Fi does not always work
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't; works very inconsistently. Often iTunes displays an error, iPhone can't be located despite the fact that it's connected to my Wi-Fi. Any way to increase the reliabilty of the sync?
So the files in your iTunes Library are stored locally on the same computer you're trying to sync with, right?
Then it might be an issue if the PC and the iOS device are both using WiFi. Maybe Apple meant this feature to be used with computers being connected by cable (and only the iOS connected over WiFi). Anyway, I still believe it has something to with the bandwidth, although you're already using the maximum available speed.
What's the bandwidth usage while syncing? Take a look in the Task Manager!
