ITunes 11.1.5 (5) -How to Adding Artwork from scan not working
I'm reading in a bunch of old CDs. I am scaning the artwork. I get the Info window with the Artwork prompt. I can copy/drag the artwork in and it displays correctly. Permissions seem OK.
OK does nothing... ??? can't find help ... that works. Believe all patches and upgrades are current.

No Add button is displayed, however the code is clearly there as I can double click the Artwork input box in the Get Info window. As with all the methods, that allows me to select the artwork, adds it to the Artwork input box and it all disappears when I select OK. <sigh> Am I close? Because I am not sure I am seeing the "Artwork Tab" you are describing. There is a radio button next to the Artwork box that automatically activates when any of the methods adds artwork to the input. In the Multiple Item Information popup window (after Get Info) I see an "Artwork header" over the area that displays the imported artwork. But no "Add" I have "Info, Video, Sorting and Options" tabs at the top of that window.
When the art work is displayed (all methods) the OK button pulses bright/dim. Then when OK is selected the artwork disappears.

How to restore iPhone from backup, not working right
Hello, today I updated my iPhone to the latest version (6.1.2?) and after it was finished, or not finished, it came up on my PC saying it could not be updated and had to be restored for some reason. So, I restored it, knowing my phone backs up everytime I sync it. It last restored at 4 o clock today, before I updated it. So, I went to restore from backup, it started, ran for about a minute, then popped up saying it could not be restored from backup because the backup could not be found on my computer. I see the backup very clearly on my iTunes, it's there. Now it shows up like a new iPhone and it's wiped out. I had very important documents on my notes, plus text messages I needed, and this isn't working. I'm livid about this, please help.

How to transfer files from old not-working iPod to new one?
i've got a 4th gen U2 iPod that has "died." replaced battery, still doesn't work. i keep getting either a sad face symbol or low battery (but not charging). don't know what's wrong or what to do. if i buy a new iPod, can i transfer my old music to it??

"Connect to a computer. Use iTunes to restore." When I connect to a computer, iTunes doesn't recognise it. The iPod 5th Gen does not work at all. How do I fix my iPod without losing any data?
I have seen the Apple webpage suggesting the "five R's" (including restore). Before doing anything, I want to be sure that restoring or any other action is not going to delete or risk my data.
I would be very grateful if anyone can suggest a fix for this problem, in a way that will not risk my data.

To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Have you also worked through each and every single troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?

Itunes now requesting PW for old purchases. Current PW does not work. How to fix and gain access to songs purchased 6 years ago. Other, more recent songs all OK.
If you bought the music with another itunes account, then you will have to authorize the computer for that account.

I have over 1200 songs in my iTunes library that have always synced fine, I have added a new album to my list from one of my CD's, synced to add it to my library but less that 100 songs are now showing on my device and no matter how many ways I try its not able to show any more.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to rectify the situation as I have tried every help setting for the last 4 hours.I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.

Why can i not make a compilation (Also adding artwork sometimes doesn't work)
Has anyone experienced this issue? I am on itunes 12.1.1.4 windows (64bt).
When making compilations (grouping songs together as one album) i found some would work and at others times others wouldn't, i found this with the artwork too.
It seemed random at first and i couldn't find a solution. BUT!! I am here to report after many hours, i found the fix.
The trouble lies with the length of the album name, not sure if it also lies with song names too and artist names ect.
But for me, i was in albums section and fed up with seeing 40 or so songs which belonged to the same Album all on there own when they should be together. Also having no artwork. For though's that dont know how to solve this!
Select the songs you would like to bring together as one (compilation)
Select the first, hold shift and select the last.
Right click and select get info.
In the first column under details scroll to the bottom and tick the box that says
ALBUM IS A COMPILATION OF SONGS BY VARIOUS ARTIST.
In my experience this would not work all the time. so this brings me back to my original point. Reduce the size of the name of the album, this has to be done on all the songs which you can do manually, where they are originally stored in windows file. There is many tutorials online for this so i wont go into detail.
(you will have to delete songs/albums from itunes and then after fix re-link in to itunes)
Also my advice which is what i did because i didn't want to do them one by one, is to find a program that does it automatically. there's many out there that are free to try or just free. But anyway i hope this helps others.. As soon as i reduced the ALBUM name size.. compilation worked as normal, and so did Album artwork..
TIP: Find album art work you want, download and save to desktop or a folder you can find easily, right click album in itunes, select get info, artwork column and add artwork...(this of course is if itunes doesnt do the job for you) ENJOY..PEACEI suspect that your suggestion to "reduce the size of the name of the album" is actually ensuring that the album name is identical for every track. iTunes is somewhat sensitive to non-obvious variations in some of its metadata values (suggestions include trailing spaces, inclusion of non-printing characters, etc.) - this seems to be more pronounced in iTunes 12 than in earlier releases. Another way to do the same thing is a add a dummy character such as "x" at the start of the common album name; if this then groups the tracks correctly, then edit it again to remove the dummy character and restore the correct name. I have album names in my library that are over 100 characters long without issues. I can't find a reference to an actual maximum length - I'm sure that there is one, though its possible that this is more a limitation of the embedded properties of media files in Windows rather than an inherent limitation of iTunes. Your suggestion to "Reduce the size of the name of the album, this has to be done on all the songs which you can do manually, where they are originally stored in windows file." is OK as long as you do so before adding the songs to your iTunes library. If you do so afterwards you may end up with apparent inconsistencies - iTunes will only update what you see when you play any songs that had their metadata edited directly in the media files.
You can achieve the same result by editing fields within iTunes - just select all the tracks that should be part of the album you're interested in (use Shift-Click to select contiguous tracks, Ctrl-Click for those that are not), then right-click > Get Info. Sometimes you'll see an obvious mis-match of values if iTunes displays "Mixed" in grey text in the Album field - in this case you can just type in the correct value and it will update all the tracks. Otherwise use the "prepend a dummy character" method as above to enforce identical values.
In general, compilation albums (i.e., those containing tracks by several different artists) will be grouped correctly in iTunes if:
the Album value is identical, and the "Part of a Compilation" flag is set for all tracks, or
the Album value and the Album Artist value are identical for all tracks
The "Part of a Compilation" flag is really only necessary for older models of iPod that don't recognize the Album Artist tag - the second option above gives some additional flexibility, in that you can decide how you want to label the "collection of artists" responsible for the album (if you leave Album Artist blank and set the "Part of a Compilation" flag then iTunes will automatically list it as being by "Various Artists") and you can also set the Sort Album Artist value. As an example of the latter, I prefer to sort the classical albums in my library by composer rather than artist; I have a number of albums that contain several works by the same composer but performed by different orchestras/conductors/soloists. Using the second approach listed above, I can:
set the Artist value on individual tracks to the correct value - this will not be a common value for all the tracks making up the album
set the Album Artist to "Various Artists"
set the Sort Album Artist to the name of the composer - so, for an album collecting several works by Beethoven, this would be set to "Beethoven, Ludvig van" and would be listed along with other recordings of Beethoven's works.
Two other consequences of the alternative approaches to tagging compilations:
using the "Part of a Compilation" flag:
all compilations will appear at the end of an artist-sorted list of albums
if you have configured iTunes to manage your media folders, the songs from each compilation will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\album_title
using the Album Artist method:
compilations will be sorted based on the Album Artist (or, if set, Sort Album Artist) value - so if you set the Album Artist to "Various Artists" and leave the Sort Album Artist blank, these will be sorted with the V's - in my case, such compilations sit between Van der Graaf Generator and Suzanne Vega (sorted, of course, as "Vega, Suzanne")
if you have configured iTunes to manage your media folders, the songs from each compilation will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\album_artist\album_title -

... but doesn't help.
All other screen savers work... my usual is Flurry, and it works too, but gives invalid framebuffer operation under Console.

Environment: Mac OS X (10.7.2), Macbook Pro (late 2008)So it turned out that the cause of the problem wasn't as complicated as I thought...
I had a few songs that were not added to the iTunes library, instead referenced from other locations on my hard drive.
Specifically, if you bring up the Get Info window of a song, under Summary > Where, it may show a different path than your usual iTunes Media folder location, set under Preferences.
E.g. Where: ~/Desktop/downloaded_song.mp3
I guess, this happens when you drag a song into your iTunes instead of adding it to the library, and apparently, causes problems with the Artwork Screen Saver.
Solution:
To correct it,
For those songs, go to File > Add to Library...
Then find and select the song file.
That's all I had to do to get the screen saver working... All your songs have to be added to your iTunes Library.
I think my brother was messing around with my playlist... I hope Apple nails a better way to lock-unlock/secure OS X soon (proximity sensor, biometric 3D face recognition, unique voice recognition, soul recognition, etc.).
That malloc error message still shows up; that must be an unrelated issue with the screen saver.
I hope this helps out all those suffering through the same issue with their iTunes Artwork Screen Saver. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
