Itunes 11.1 upgrade from itunes version 10.6.3, OS v. 10.6.8, will not work
Please help if you can. Bought a iphone 5s. Need itunes 11.1 to activate and backup. Needed to upgrade the OS to 10.6.8 from 10.5.8 on older macbook pro. Installed sucessfully. Downloaded itunes 11.1 from apple site. Installed it. Installer says it was sucessful. Open itunes, and it is still version 10.6.3. Tried numerous times, same results. Please help.
Open iTunes directly from the Applications folder.

Since upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 both Internet Explorer and Firefox will not recognize the numbers keys of my keyboard. I get numbers in Word and every other situation, just not in the internet programs. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling with no results.
If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.
*Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):<br>File > Import and Export
*Import the HTML file in Firefox:<br>Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Bookmarks from HTML
See "Import from another browser" and "Import from file":

I tried importing email addresses from gmail and now my address book is locked up and will not work. Do I need to delete my address book software and reinstall? If so, what is the proper way to do this? New to Macbook software. I have tried several things and nothing has helped. I have backed up photos, movies, etc. My addresses are on my iphone so I can sync them later right if I loose my data?
Thanks for your time and expertise,
T.You can probably resolve this by removing some Address Book preference files rather than deleting your Address Book application.
First turn off Synchronize in Address Book Preferences if you can.
Next restart Address Book and try to export everything to your Desktop.
I have had a play and found my Address Book preference files. In the following ~/Library is the Library within your Home folder. Any numerals may differ on your Mac. Quit Address Book before doing anything with these.
1 - Display details and things set in Address Book Preferences
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
2 - Has no data - not sure what this does
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.abd.plist
3 - Has last sync date - may have more if I used sync
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.AddressBook.sync.000393735c06.plist
4 - My contact details
/Library/Preferences/AddressBookMe.plist
5 - Individual addresses and groups stored as separate files within:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Metadata
6 - All of these addresses are are also in this single database:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook-v22.abcddb
If you wish to remove all addresses drag both 5 & 6 to your Desktop.
If you wish to reset preferences drag 1 your Desktop.
Removing 3 may resolve sync issues but I am unable to test this.
If you wish to reset everything drag all except 4 to your desktop.
Apple has an interesting page at: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2481
I hope this helps. -
upgraded to ios6 this morning on iphone 4. Now my email will not work and the settings are correct
Try a couple of basic troubleshooting steps that can apply to any iPad issue.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the mail app and restart. In order to quit or close apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
None of these things may work, but without more specific information, they are a good place to start. -
Upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard and final cut express 4 will not work
upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard and final cut express 4 will not launch but my final cut express HD 3.0 version comes up. I reinstall my final cut express 4 upgrade disc and it still will not launch.

I upgraded to mountain lion. Now my virgin mobile broadband internet card will not work
I uninstalled the broadband software and then tried to reistall it but it will not work. I pluged in my usb card but it doesn't show that it is pluged in. I tried the card on my girlfriends computer and it works. I pluged a camera in my usb port and that works. Can anyone help me out.
ThanksMy internet card will only work on 32bit,and it sounds like mountain lion only works on 64bit so that must be my problem. I think I will have to upgrade my internet or go back to lion.

i can not launch browser toget version info or anything else, when it upgraded to newest version it stopped working-i've tried launching in Safe Mode and have tried all icons
You can save a copy of your passwords file, but I don't think you can open it without Firefox.
Your passwords file is in your profile folder. You might want to make a backup copy of the whole folder. Info on locating the folder: [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles Profiles | How to | Firefox Help].
You may want to try reinstalling Firefox 3.6. You can download the installer from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older -

I wish I could go back to version 4.
Have spent hours now .
Upgraded to 5 and now completely useless, will not open at all please helpI have this problem with Firefox 5.0 too. You are forced to reboot when access to 5.0 is denied. I had so many problems with 4.0 as well. I am so tired of the crashes and seeing that popup window to send your comments, it is ridiculous. I also find in 5.0 that mouse controls are fruitless and sometimes take over. The pages will jump forward or back, the pull down menus do not function, clicking boxes in online email don't work and pages will zoom in or out by themselves. I have three computers with different operating systems that this happens with. All these updates by programmers are crap. I thought I set firefox to not update automatically, since updates seem to be worse than the previous version, but it happens anyway. I will surf for an older version or switch to something else. Too bad because after 10+ years, they are losing my loyalty.

I just upgraded Ciscoworks from LMS2.6 to LMS3.2 and I see in the "System" view that RMEDbEngine, ConfigMgmtServer, and EssentialsDM are down. I attempted to start the processes from "Process Status" window, but that did not work. Can anyone let me know how to get these processes started or what is wrong ?

When downloading yosemite to upgrade from snow leopard (10.6.8) the download stops partway through and appears to have overloaded the internet, causing me to have to restart the modem.I have an Imac 8,i with 4gb of ram, which is supposed to support yosemite. Anyone else having this problem?
I am not sure it is the modem, but I use a Webstar by scientific atlanta provided by the local dsl.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

This applet / certificate is used to authorise business banking transactions and is sent from the bank concerned, saved on my laptop and then the internet banking uses is it when I go to authorise an instruction. Since upgrading firefox it will not find the certificate and shows error message DIGITAL SIGNING PROCESS FAILED. However if I log out of banking, go to Internet Explorer, login to the banking again, do the transaction then when it calls for the certificate it loads and works perfectly. My choice is to work in Firefox so please advise what I can do rectify the issue. Many thanks
