ITUnes 11.3.1.2 Automatically downloaded -no wanted- music from the shop/cloud!!!

Yesterday 11 09 2014 at around 22:00 C.E.T. I got an issue with iTunes 11.3.1.2
I connected my iPhone to the PC, I run iTunes, and I just took a song of me, that's stored in a local directory, and moved into my iPhone.
Once finished, I disconnected my phone and closed iTunes.
I run iTunes on my phone and I discovered that I got several songs of U2, from the Cloud !! (on the right side of the title is appearing the symbol of the Cloud).
Although I like U2, I never bought MP3 of them, nor I was connected to the Store, nor I have any MP3.
I also checked if my account was violated and somebody bought songs ... but it is not violated and those songs are not bought by my account
Where these songs are from???
P.S. while i'm writing this post, I received communication form a friend i have in New Zealand, he got the same issue!
Here below the screenshots with highlighted the songs I never bought, looked for, wanted but found

The album Songs of Innocence by U2 was given away to all users of the iTunes Store who access the store between September 9th and October 13th as a free gift from Apple. Since your device is set to Show All Music (Settings > Music) the tracks are automatically shown as available in the cloud. They are free for you to download and keep.
If you don't want the album you can hide it using iTunes on your computer. Go to iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music then mouse over the album and click on the X at the top left to hide the purchase/gift.

I have downloaded all my music from the cloud to my new iPhone and created playlists so I can listen to it when not it wifi like when on a plane. If I turn on iTunes Match will I still have this music still downloaded? The online information suggests all my music will be replaced. Will I have to download it again??

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account."  The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases.  It is also used with iCloud.  iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod.  If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked).  If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod.  When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library.  Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want).  Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs.  Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists.  Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod.

  • My iTunes library has completely disappeared during a download of some music from the store

This morning, during a download of some music from the iTunes store, iTunes appeared to crash, as the downloads all paused and the spinning wheel appeared. Itunes then shut itself. After reopening it, all of my music, apps, vids, etc (everything), had disappeared, and iTunes was basically blank as if I had just opened it for the very first time on my computer, with iTunes match, Home Sharing, etc all signed out.
I know this has happened for other people but having looked through the discussions they all seem to be under different cirumstances. I'm running a mid 2012 2.9 Ghz macbook pro with 8GB memory, on OS X 10.8.5, with itunes version 11.1.1 which I updated to, around a week ago, when prompted to by the app store.
I've located all the music files on my hard drive in the iTunes media folder and everything appears to be there, just no longer showing in the iTunes app. I know that if I sign into iTunes match that I'll be able to access my library through that online, but I'd like to access the music on my hard drive so I don't need an internet connection to listen, so is there any way of just re-directing iTunes to the media folder or do I need to just import everything from that folder manually?

Should also add, that when opening my iTunes preferences that the iTunes Media Folder Location appears to be the same one that supposedly has all the files in it. If I click change then I can see all the music, vids, etc that are on the hard drive, yet still nothing is showing in iTunes.

  • HT201272 why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

why can't I re-download already purchased music from the itunes store?

What country are you in ? Re-downloading music isn't currently possible in all countries (the record companies need to agree to it for each country). If you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded, then if the tracks are still in the store then they should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

  • I have an Ipod that I downloaded my own music from the old computer.  I  would like to add them to my Itune account, but more importantly I would like to get them onto my new computer.  Any solutions?

I have a Ipod that has my personal music on it from a previous computer.  I would like to sync the music from the Ipod to my new computer.  How can I do this?

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod/iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
Use your backup copy of your old comptuer to put everything on the new one.

  • How can I download ALL my music from the cloud to an external device?

This seems simple enough, yet I've had nothing but problems downloading all my music in the Cloud to my Mac OR to an external device (preferred).
How, exactly, is this accomplished?  Many thanks for any direction.

  • How can I download all my music from the cloud to itunes?

I have several hundred songs in the Cloud that I am attempting to download to my local PC iTunes. I have clicked and clicked and clicked on eligible songs, but nothing happens. I get a ghost text window "Download from iCloud" but nothing happens. I have the most recent version of iTunes. This is the PC that I sync my iPhone to and I don't want hundreds of songs in the cloud as they have proved difficult to play. I have spent days downloading all of the songs to my iPhone, but I have had no luck downloading any to iTunes. What am I doing wrong?

If they are on the phone, simply transfer them to the computer.
Connect the phone to the computer.
In iTunes, right click on the phone and select "Transfer Purchases".

Download the music. Go to the purchased tab in iTunes and download the songs. Are you using iTunes Match?

  • I need to set up a new iTunes account. How can I get all my music from the old account on to the new one??? Thanks../

I have just bought an ipad 2 and wish to set up a new account as now I won't have to share with my sister. I want to get all the music off my current iTunes account & put it on to the ipad/new iTunes account. I'm not too sure how to do this though.... Please help lol :-) x

If you mean iTunes libraries or computer user accounts, just create one. To make a new iTunes library on Windows, launch iTunes with the Shift key held down and choose Create Library.
If you mean iTunes Store accounts, click here and request assistance.

  • I've just downloaded itunes on a new computer, and I'm downloading music from the cloud, but it seems to stick on certain songs and won't download them at all, stopping at a certain point. How do I get round this?

    Hi all,
I've just downloaded itunes onto a new computer, and I'm currently downloading previously owned music from the cloud. However, it keeps sticking on various songs - it will get part of the way through and just stop, this seems to happen to about 1 in 10 songs. How do I get round this?
Also, once I've finished dowloading from the cloud, how do I get my library to display only the songs I've downloaded, and not all the other ones that I don't want anymore?
    Cheers, Alex

On the new laptop, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.

Simply uncheck the same boxes you used to turn on Automatic downloads.
    iTunes prefs > Store.

There is no way to designate one specific purchased item to not auto-download and remain in the cloud, but you can specify certain kinds of purchased items like videos, music, books, etc.
In iTunes > Preferences > Store Preferences on your computer, make sure to uncheck "Always check for available downloads" and "Automatically download pre-orders".
Initiate the purchase on a device other your computer. The simplest way would be to initiate the purchase on a Apple TV, as those purchases will now remain in the cloud and not auto-download to iTunes on your computer.

Hi I had a similar issue to you, I could connect to the router but no internet. Here is my explanation of how I sorted it.....I hope this works for you.
*To anyone that is reading this it appears that the problem lay in the airport setting: IPV6: set to 'Automatically'. I turned it off (after reading someones plight on MacFixIt) & everything is back to normal.*
*The worrying thing is although my problem was extreme with other computers on the network being locked out nothing was changed, one minute it worked the next it didn't. Reading on other forums it appears to be a problem with laptops (but I could be mistaken). A lot of people on the Macfixit forum are complaining of network just dropping out even when they are next to the router.*
*I hope this is the fix (although I dont know why it suddenly went to sh*t!) & I hope my hair pulling & trawling the forums can help someone else out.*
    Much Respect

My old PC crashed and I ended up buying a new one.  I was able to recover all my music from the old hard drive and restore it in itunes.  I purchased a new album online thru itunes and added it to my library.  When I tried to add the album to my 6th nano it wouldn't download.  All the tracks are check marked and I can listen to the album on my pc but it won't sync onto the ipod.  The new pc is authorized, any ideas?

You can only sysc with one iTunes library. The new computer is a new library. You have to restore your iPod on the new conputer and then sync.
