ITunes 11.3.1.8 cannot delete playlist Windows 7 64-bit

I have been importing CD's and I created a few playlists. Now, I want to delete some playlists and iTunes only crashes EVERY TIME.I tried a Repair Install, but that didn't help. Here's what I'm doing:
1.     Display playlists.
2.     Select playlist to delete.
3.     Right-click and select Delete from pop-up menu.
4.     Acknowledge the Delete dialog box.
5.     Pop-up stating iTune has stopped working.

I am having the exact same issue - Homesharing just cuts out - particularly with my Apple TV2.  All updates have been applied all around.  I know it is not the router because I can still access the Apple Store, NEtflicks, and other web-based services.  It is just the Homesharing that gets dropped.
As others have mentioned, closing iTunes and restarting it again helps temporarily.  Really seems to be an iTunes issue.

  • Cannot delete playlist from Walkman

Hi - Just got a Z1 compact and went to put my micro sd card from my old phone into the sony. Everything is fine except i cannot delete playlists from the My Playlists section of Walkman. The playlists have no content in them, i can't add content to them, and i can't delete them. How do i get rid of them???? Suspect they have to be on the SD somewhere but cannot find them by searching the name or the file type .m3u. Any idea how i find and delete these ghost playlists?? thanks in advance!

Hi, I'd just like you to know that havin already tried EZ File Manager and manual deletion via USB I still couldn't delete certain non-working tracks from the Walkman app, and although I thought your advice seemed potentially dangerous, I tried it as you're a moderator so I trusted it was some 'combination' that was safe. Anyway, long story short I wiped all the media on my phone and SD, of which there was plenty, amassed over a lot of time (the music in particular). If I can't retrieve backups of the music, I'll be very angry with you. (The photos and videos were mostly backed up recently). I don't know if this was some weird, cruel joke for frustrated clueless phone users (not thinking straight late at night, in my case) but if it was, you've caused me to delete everything, and I hope you're happy with yourself. -Feargal

  • Cannot delete playlists on iPod

Howdy. I have a list of 10 or so playlists within iTunes. When I sync with my iPod, it copies the 10 playlists that I have, PLUS about 8 or 9 other OLD playlists that I no longer have in iTunes. So, after a sync, I have 10 playlists on iTunes and 18 playlists on the iPod.
I have done a restore on the iPod, and on my first sync, once again, the old (previously deleted) playlists returned to the iPod.
The only way I have ever been able to remove these playlists from the iPod is to manually manage the iPod and then remove them. But, as soon as I set it to automatically sync, they return.
Since the iPod has been restored, and it still didn't fix it, I'm guessing there is a configuration file somewhere on my Mac that I don't know about which is being repeatedly written to the iPod.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I would recommend recreating your iTunes Library. Be sure to back up the playlists that you DO want to keep, however.

  • ITunes 11.1.3.8 update" Deleted playlists

I'm running Windows 8 (64 bit) and just updated to iTunes 11.1.3.8.
While the songs are accessible, ALL of my playlists are gone.  Ten years of playlists, gone--including an 8-hour list for Christmas Day.
I've tried replacing the "iTunes Library" file with an older version--this didn't appear to change anything.
All of the iTunes materials are on an auxiliary hard drive. iTunes worked fine--on two laptops--until the update.  Now, the playlists are gone on both laptops, so the update affected the files on the auxiliary drive they run from.  Because I synched my iPod this morning to get newly purchased songs, all of the playlists are now gone from the iPod, too.  (My iPod is a 6th generation Nano--model MC699LL).
    How do I fix this?

These are the directions I followed--right up to step 7. Choose File > Library > Import Playlist.
Because there's no playlist to import.

  • ITunes 9.0.2.25 doesnt work on Windows 7 64-Bit!!! Have looked everywhere!!

I first started to install iTunes 64-bit and the installation seemed to work well, but when i plugged in my iPod Touch this message showed up:
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
Well of cource ive tried to uninstall and re-install without any luck. I also uninstalled everything that had something to do with apple (quicktime etc.) and went into registry editor and removed apples entries there under SOFTWARE, without luck.
Then I extracted the iTunes installer, and got all of the .msi files.
I cannot install "Apple Mobile Device Support 64", it seemes that it gets installed but it doesnt. No files are copied to the common folder, and I've checked both (Program Files and Program Files (x86))
I cannot install MobileMe because it tells med that "Apple Mobile Device Support 64" is not installed. I have also tried to extract the msi files wiht Universal Extractor and coppied all of the files.
I have also tried to install the driver manually but it tells me its not an x64-driver when I KNOW it is (the files are. usbaapl64.sys, usbaapl64.inf, usbaapl64.cat and usbaaplrc.dll) I manage to finally get "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" installed but get the error that "This device cannot start (Code 10)"
I tried to select the iPod USB Driver but it still says "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" even when i open the driver and under the tab (Details) it says: Apple iPod USB Driver" but it cannot start.
Please help!! I need to fix this. Im loosing my mind now.
    Thanks

Listen up, I have no found and article on how to fix this problom. This seems to be a common problem with iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit, so this is a fix you can use until Apple fixes this problem.
Since this article is from November 10th 2008, which is a very long time ago, it seems like Apple is ignoring this huge problem, but there is always away around but it might be a little complicated.
First uninstall everything that has anything to do with Apple (iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Update Software, Apple Mobile Device Support (if installed) etc etc. Then delete all Apple folders in Program Files (x86), also check the
    Program Files folder too.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
also check the : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple just in case.
Now check for anything that has to do with apple (like "Apple Software Updater", "iTunes", "Bonjour", "QuickTime" etc in both of the Program Files directories and delete them.
    Now delete:
    C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Apple
    C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer
    C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer
    C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer
Then open the start-menu, write "Run" (without the quotes) and click enter. Write inn "regedit" (without quoutes)
Goto: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE and delete "Apple Computer, Inc." and anything related to Apple, then go into HKEYCURRENTUSER\SOFTWARE and delete "Apple Computer, Inc." and anything realted to Apple.
    Then Restart your computer.
    Now follow this guide:
    http://chris123nt.com/2008/11/10/get-ipod-touch-working-in-windows-7-x64/
But make sure of 2 things:
    1. You have to edit one of the .reg files in the iTouchReg.zip that you are gonna download from the guide.
    2. You dont need to install itunes on a working Vista 64-bit computer, you can do an easier way.
First lets take the easier way to get the Apple Mobile Device Support files.
As the guide sais, you have to download the latest version of 64-bit iTunes.
When you have downloaded it, download and install WinRar (if you dont have it, www.rarlabs.org)
Extract the .msi files from the iTunes installation to a seperate folder.
Now you need to download and install Universal Extractor.
    HERE: http://legroom.net/software/uniextract
Extract the files from the file: "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi" to a seperate folder. There you will have the "Common Files" folder and you will find the folder "Apple" inside it that you need to copy to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files", and inside that folder is also the drivers that is explained in the guide. So then you dont need another computer, and you will get the latest version of the files.
No the second thing you need to do, since the guide is pretty old, and iTunes has updated their iTunes alot of times (but still haven't fixed this problem), then you have to change the version in the AMDS.reg file.
In the zip. file called iTouchReg.zip that you will download from the guide has 2 files.
    You will get 2 files:
    AMDS.reg
    and Service.reg
open up AMDS.reg in notepad and edit the versions of 2 files.
    It will look like this:
    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apple Inc.\Apple Mobile Device Support]
    "InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\Apple\\Mobile Device Support\\"
    "Version"="2.1.1.13"
    I edited it to:
    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Apple Inc.\Apple Mobile Device Support]
    "InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Common Files\\Apple\\Mobile Device Support\\"
    "Version"="2.6.0.32"
(You have to change it to the latest version that comes with iTunes, just right-click on the "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi" that you extracted from the iTunes installation with winrar, and click properties. Check the Details tab and
under Description, you will se "Comment" there and the latest version will be there. Edit the .reg file to that version, in my case it was 2.6.0.32.)
Now you need to check the Bonjour application, the FileVersion is the versio of the "Bonjour64.msi" that you extracted from the iTunes installation file with Winrar (using the same method as with the "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi"),
the "Version" is the version of the exe file of the Bonjour exe is located, normally in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour\" in the details tab. Once you have changed the .reg file, save it and follow the guide that I linked to:
    http://chris123nt.com/2008/11/10/get-ipod-touch-working-in-windows-7-x64/
(NOTE: PLEASE INSTALL iTUNES TO THE DEFAULT FOLDER "C:\Program Files (x86)\" so it wont be any problems.

  • ITunes Store causing whole program to freeze on Windows 7 (64-bit)

So I installed iTunes 10.5 for Windows 7 (64-bit) and cannot open it up properly: the iTunes Store makes the entire program freeze up. I've cleared the DNS cache, closed my firewall, changed proxy settings, and iTunes it still unusable. What am I missing exactly? This is enough to tear the hair out of my head...

I can get it running if I run it in XP Mode, but I still don't have access to the Store...nobody has any ideas?

Same problem for me. iTunes 64bits instlls well up to 80% of the process.
then it says that some software components are missing.
I was never able of completing my iTunes installation (on my new computer).
earlier versions are no longer available and the iTunes for 32bits isn't accepted by Windows 7 64 bits.
Can anyone at Apple explain what this is ?
Has anyone experienced the same problem ?

  • ITunes 10.5.1 Home Sharing not working (Windows 7 64 Bit)

Looks like this is being reported by a fair few people on the forums - so just wanted to add my voice.  Since iTunes 10.5 (same in  iTunes 10.5.1) on Windows 7 64 Bit home sharing has stopped working. I have all firewalls disabled on my Windows machine, have tried all the normal suggestions of signing out and back into home sharing on all devices etc.  iTunes Windows library does not show to other devices on the network including iPad, iPhone and Apple TV (all running latest firmware as of 19/11/2011).  Not looking for any responses here from the community, as the problem clearly lies with iTunes on Windows.  Apple please fix!
In the meantime the only way I can use my Apple TV is to sync purchases down to the iPad and then Airplay them to the Apple TV.  Very annoying.  Maybe time to look for an alternative for movie and TV downloads as Apple TV is pointless without it being able to connect to my Windows iTunes library and downloads..

I am having the exact same issue - Homesharing just cuts out - particularly with my Apple TV2.  All updates have been applied all around.  I know it is not the router because I can still access the Apple Store, NEtflicks, and other web-based services.  It is just the Homesharing that gets dropped.

  • With itunes 10.5 last version today 15 october, windows 7 64 bits, unable to recognize ipid touch in itunes (windows recognizes the ipod) help !!

windows 7 64 bits : it recognizes the ipod Touch
but itunes is unable to see the ipod
I've been following all the steps descripbed in apple.support and the problem remains
    iOS 5 and Itunes 10.5

I found the solution after a year of dysfonctionnement
My motherboard was P7P55D from ASUS
operating system  Windows 7 64 bits
I have upgraded the BIOS with the lastest BIOS from ASUS ant itworks : My PC recognizes all ipods and also my Tomtom GPS that was also not recognized.
So update your BIOS ... it is risky but it works (or ask a professional to update your BIOS)
and with Itunes 10.5 ou can also synchronize the ipods via WIfi : no USO required (once you've succeeded in connecting ipod to the pC one time)

  • How to reinstall my iTunes 10 music after doing system reinstall on Window 7 64 bit and then downloading iTunes 11.

What is the best way to reintroduce the backed up iTunes folder that contains my music collected in iTunes 10 after doing a clean reinstall of Windows 7 and thereafter installing iTunes 11. Howl will iTunes 11 recognize my songs collected in iTunes 10? Do I simply copy then paste all the iTunes music folder content into the new iTunes 11 music folder? I thank you for your response.

I spent some time on the phone this morning with Apple. Here's a link they sent me: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
It's more than just uninstalling Itunes; there are 5 other apps that have to be uninstalled and in specific order. This particular Knowledge Base article applies to Windows Vista or Windows 7. For other Windows versions you'd have to look up the article for Windows XP.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot delete playlists from iPod Video

When I connect mu iPod Video to my PC or laptop using Windows XP, my iTunes opens, my iPod is recognized yet I can't see any playlists anywhere in my iPod when connected to the computers. When I disconnect, I have 6 different playlists that I've created over time. I want to delete these as needed. They seem to be created from my "On The Go" playlist when I create one. How can I delete? I've read and followed instructions on the Help site. The biggest problem is that there are no playlists shown when I select iPod from the source list once connected. I can't try to delete if I can't see it.

To clear the entire On-the-Go playlist, on your IPOD go to Music>Playlist>On-the-Go>Clear Playlist
To remove an individual song in a On-the-Go playlist, select the song in the playlist, press and hold the center button until the song flashes.
    Hope that helps you!

  • While trying to reinstall itunes it comes up saying cannot delete previous version of itunes

My previous itunes was giving me issues so i decided to reinstall it. I searched up what i had to delete and uninstall so i took off the stuff from the control panel and in program files i was wondering what else i have to do because it keeps giving me the same message every time. Apple Support also was no real help.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies. The notes below the box include tips on removing troublesome components.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
