ITunes 11.3.1 update has caused subscribed podcasts to stop downloading.

Before this most recent iTunes update, my subscribed podcasts were updating fine. Then after the most recent update to 11.3.1, my subscribed podcasts will not download. Neither via automatic download or when I manually refresh the podcasts. This is exactly the bug that the release notes claimed the update was supposed to fix.
The only workaround that I have is to open the podcast page in the iTunes store and manually download the latest episode from the store.
Any ideas?
iMac, OS X 10.9.4

My problem is exactly as you described, except one of the podcast feeds I have is not in the apple store but directly elsewhere. I was able to view the RSS feed and it was updated wednesday (3 days ago) with a new podcast, but itunes has yet recognize it. I even exited and restarted itunes. It won't refresh the podcast. Since it's not in itunes store, I can't manually select the podcast from the store.
I was able to manually download the podcast through the RSS feed's source code, and drop it into itunes (so I could watch it on my apple TV).
Apple is really going down the sh*tter if they put out a release causing the very problem they claim to be fixing.

    Hi abbiesetty,
If your iPhone is showing the Connect to iTunes screen and you are unable to restore because your iPhone isn't being recognized by iTunes on your Windows machine, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried something like the above then try opening iTunes in safe mode (press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. You may find that iTunes opens normally now.

You may select how and whether Firefox updates, although like most software it may be sensible to keep it up-to-date, it is more likely to remain secure and compatible with other software whilst up to date.

This is usually hardware error of WiFi Chip. Try Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If still problem, Restore iPhone with current iTunes on computer. If still problem, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • ITunes 11.3.1 will not refresh subscribed podcasts

A week ago iTunes just stopped downloading any podcast that I am subscribed to.  If I go to the podcast section of the iTunes Store, find a podcast that I am already subscribed to and click the download an episode, everything works fine.  It's just that iTunes refuses to refresh any podcasts.  This is not iTunes saying that I haven't listened to a podcast in a while would I like to resume; this is I select a podcast, ask it to refresh and nothing happens.  Same if I ask iTunes to refresh all podcasts.

I have a similar issue. When I attempt to refresh a podcast subscription, iTunes stops working.  I recently updated to version 11.3.1.2. Any ideas?

  • Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop...

I have a Tour 9630 and just installed v6.0 and receiving an error window "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working. A problem as caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  I have not received any message from Windows after 2 days.  Has anyone experienced this problem?  If so, I would appreciate any guidance.  I have Windows 7, if that matters. Thank you. in advance.

    Hi somewhatstock
How far did you get with them? Did they have any ideas what might be causing the problem? Trying to work on it myself, so trying to eliminate what others might have tried. Curious why it works on my Desktop however. Losing tethering really causes problems as I rely on tethering with my laptop quite a lot.
    Any information most welcome,

  • Itunes update has caused my library to be updated

This has taken up to an hour on both recent I-tunes updates- why is it doing this? what is it doing? I will not update again if it continues in future- there should at least be a warning and option to cancel and start it later.

it tries to up date my library and then I get a message that iTunes has stopped working and this keeps happening and starts again on its own with the same results
soliscjw, if you're getting that message during the library update, that sounds like an issue either with your existing library file or one (or more) of your content files.
There's advice on troubleshooting those two possibilities in the following document:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717

  • New update has caused itunes not to run

i clicked on the new update for itunes, and successfully went through all the new install, but when i go to run itunes it comes up "itunes updating". It wont allow me to click on anything else and freezes the screen. I have tried uninstalling itunes several times and re-installing but this does no use, and i am left with the same message.

I just did some research and found the answer to my problem. It might be the same as yours.
    Try this website: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302856
I found out that my problem was user-specific, and when I moved the itunes preference file to my desktop my problem was solved. itunes no longer froze when I opened it. Good luck!

  • ITunes 10.2.1 Update has created 2 iTunes libraries

Have just updated to 10.2.1 and on checking finder there is an iTunes folder with all the music etc and another folder (iTunes new) which also has all the music etc. The folders are not identical as they are of different sizes but their structures are the same. iTunes is "looking at" the iTunes new folder. Is it OK to remove the other iTunes folder structure which would save me some 25GB of disk space?

This is a user to user support forum. Perhaps nobody who has read your post so far knows quite what to make of it and therefore what to suggest...
When you run iTunes what is the title of the window, "iTunes" or "iTunes New"? Do you know whether you are currently using the library files in the folder "iTunes" or iTunes New? If you hold down Option when starting iTunes you should get a dialog asking if you want to choose or create a new library. That dialog may also appear if the existing library file is corrupt? Did you accidentally create a new library when there was a problem?
Here is my usual suggestion for the empty/corrupt library that can occasionally follow an upgrade.
    *Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash*
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename *iTunes Library* as *iTunes Library (Empty)* and then rename the restored file as *iTunes Library*. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See Music Folder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for clean-up tools, if required.
In your case it is not so clear what to suggest, however you if you are certain that the active library is not connected to anything in the older folder, and there is nothing you want to recover from it, then you should be OK to delete it. However the older version of your library may have other data such as play counts, date added values, playlists etc. that you could possibly recover using the techniques above. The choice is yours.
iTunes picks up the Window title from the folder holding the library files (I'm assuming the same is true for the Mac version as Windows) so if, once you've cleaned up, and I've guessed correctly, you might find that iTunes is displaying as "iTunes New". If so, close iTunes, rename the folder as "iTunes" then restart. It will either reconnect automatically or ask you to choose or create a library. Click choose and then browse to the renamed "iTunes" folder and open the library there.

  • Itunes 7.4.1 update has killed my iTunes store & airTunes

I'm a bit stumped by this one. Yesterday I followed the prompt to update to iTunes 7.4. This morning when I came back to my computer my airTunes speakers weren't connected (first thing I noticed) and then I realised that the iTunes store won't connect either. The error message I get upon trying to connect is:
*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was refused.*
Now, I'm not stupid, so this to me sounds like a pretty obvious firewall issue. However the only firewall I have turned on is the standard Windows XP one and it has an exception for iTunes (and one for Bonjour). In fact I've ever tried turning that firewall off completely and it makes no difference. The error message comes up instantaneously, so it seems as if iTunes isn't even trying to connect to anything.
After noticing that iTunes 7.4.1 had been sneaked out overnight I wondered whether this was a known issue with 7.4.0, and updated. Sadly, it was to no avail.
    Any ideas?

actually, scratch that - I fixed it.
    Apparently ZoneAlarmPro was running hidden.

  • The latest osx update has caused keychain errors on my macbook pro...what should I do?

I downloaded and installed the latest osx update last night (10.9.2) and now I'm getting login errors when trying to download emails and keychain errors when using Google Chrome or Safari. I have no idea how to solve the problems caused by this update. My macbook pro is older - 2008. Help, please? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I should have clarified above....."keychain errors", not just login errors. Thanks again.

  • TS3147 Apple updates has caused my browser pdf plugins not to work and my print function not to work.

After download the Apple updates for printers for OS 10.6.8, I cannot get the Adobe plugins in my browsers to work.  Safari will open but it has a cross hatch over it making it unreadable.  Other browsers will not open pdf files.  None of them will save the file to my computer.  What needs to be done?

I went to Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plugins and then deleted  "Adobe PDF ViewerNPAPI.plugin".  This was the most recent plug-in addition from the update.  Doing this allowed me to view and save PDFs from the internet to my computer.
However, I have spent HOURS trying to figure out how to print!  I have an Epson Workforce 435 series and everytime I try to print I get an error message that "rastertoescpii failed".  I have downloaded open source drivers and deleted and reinstalled epson drivers from the CD as well as the internet, among many other things.  I wish I could find a solution to this because it is making me crazy.  Any help would be great!
