ITunes 11.4 has greyed out "sync" button and won't back up iPhone 6?

I have iTunes 11.4 and when I connect my new iPhone 6 it doesn't have the available option to sync. It is greyed out and will not sync. Also, when I press, "back up," it doesn't work either. I have told my iPhone to trust this computer, (same as my computer), and I have reset warnings and tried that again. iTunes 11.4, iPhone 6, 10.6.8, iOS 8.

I found the solution on this site, and it worked for me:
http://www.technipages.com/itunes-app-screen-and-options-to-sync-apps-are-grayed -out
This problem is usually caused by a restriction setting on the device you are syncing with. You may have enabled this setting to prevent your kids from making purchases while you weren’t looking.
To fix this problem, disable the restriction with these steps.
From the iPhone, iPod or iPad, select “Settings“.
Select “General“.
Tap “Restrictions“.
Enter the password that was set on the device. If you don’t know it, ask anybody who has handled the device to see if they set a password.
Slide the “Installing Apps” setting to “On“.

  • Previously deleted songs have greyed out "Purchased" buttons, and the items are not in the "Purchases" list.

I have several songs I deleted on an unknown date that I want to redownload. As I stated in the title, the songs I am looking for are not in my "Purchases" list, and when I search for the album the song is in the song has a greyed-out "Purchased" button. I get the same result on my iPhone, which was bought long after I deleted these songs (I assume).

It is possible that you may have deleted the tunes.

  • My ipod 5 has a broken power button And wont turn back on Help!

My ipod 5 has a broke poer button and was dead. I tried plugging it in to my computer and it charged normally now it wont turn back on and the computer says that its 100% charged how can i turn it bacl on without the power button? HElP!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipad has ran out of battery and won't recharge

This is the second time that this has happened now, the first time i thought it was the charger but i repurchased one and it worked for a short time and then stopped again i then bought two different chargers and they have worked for a couple of weeks but it has decided to stop charging again. I have tried from mains power and from my laptop, do i need to take my ipad to apple to get it repaired as it is under warranty or will i need to pay for it to be repaired, HELP!!

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem

  • Why does my iPhone keep asking me for a payment method when: one, my visa debit card has ran out of money and won't let me chose "None" or iTunes voucher? It's incredibly annoying now.

I AM ACTUALLY ABOUT TO SMASH MY IPHONE AND GET A NOKIA® BRICK IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING.

    Then do it....
Of course it wont let you chose none if you have a debt that isn't paid for.

  • HT1695 i have a 4S , when i upgraded the software in the previous upgrade my wi-fi button has "greyed out " and i cannot turn on wi-fi, any suggestions please ?

wi-fi button on 4S has greyed out and cant turn on wi-fi , any suggestions please ?

First try a simple reset by holding down the home and power button for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple, then let the device start normally. If issues still persist, you will need to restore and update the iPhone from iTunes on your pc or mac. If after the restore still grey your device may need service or replacement.

  • HT4623 Greyed out sync to phone button

    Hi
I have an iphone 4, which used to be synced with my Mothers itunes, but with my own username and password etc, I have now got itunes of my own and made a purchase tonight on itunes, however this tune will not go on to my phone for some reason...I can't seem to sync the two because the 'sync' button is greyed out?  Any ideas?  Just to add to the misery, my iphone cannot be switched off as the button on the top is broken.  Although I do have the latest Itunes on my phone.

    Hey Tom093,
In my experience, the "Sync or "Apply" button in iTunes would only be greyed out if we have made changes that would put the storage over capacity. This can be caused by too much content, or by an abundance of "Other".
    For more information on capacity:

If you are unable to resolve the issue, it may be necessary to restore the device:

  • Purchases on iphone or ipad are shown in itunes on my PC (greyed out) but are not transferred

Purchases on iphone or ipad are shown in itunes on my PC (greyed out) but are not transferred

Exactly. The transfer job starts, collects the information on new purchases ans finishes without any error messages. New files are shown in itunes with the 'sync' icon on the left and are greyed out ... it is the same with puchases (movies and tv shows only!) on my iphone 4 and ipad2.

Is the Wi-Fi button greyed out?  Try this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
Also, make a backup to iTunes of the device.  Then restore it as a new device.  If you still have wi-fi greyed out, then contact Apple again, and explain that you believe you have a hardware issue.  They may still ask for a $19 deposit, but if it is actually hardware related, then you won't be charged the $19.  Only if it is software related do you get charged that $19.

  • My iPad appears in iTunes but it is greyed out.

my iPad appears in itunes but it is greyed out and then iTunes times it out. I know iTunes is working because my iPod syncs no problems.  Can anyone help.  I have deleted iTunes and re-installed and I have turned my iPad on and off while pluggedin.  I have also deleted the iPad from devices on my computer but nothing seems to work.

These are the minimum system requirements for syncing and using an iPad with iTunes.
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access6
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.6 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
