Itunes 11 custom playlist title bar

I find this bar in a custom playlist, very space consuming, especially on a 13inch macbook pro. Is there any way of changing it to what its like in the music, movies, tv show etc tab
I know it sounds stupid, but it really makes me hate my customs playlist look

Isn't the first one displaying full track information and as such needs the longer lines?  You can probably select what is displayed (right click on a header), resize column width, and re-arrange the order so it takes up less room.

  • ITunes 10: Playlist titles remain but content no longer visible.

After upgrading,my playlist titles still appear as usual in the left column, but the playlist itself is no longer visible. What happened?? I hope I haven't lost them after all the work that went into creating them. Restoring a previous library configuration will lost the many changes I've made since the upgrade. Other solutions or explanations?

Playlist data is stored in the iTunes Library.itl file. That's what needs to be restored from backup.
The first trouble shooting step here is to turn off iTunes Match in iTunes. See what happens to the contents of the playlists. If it is not restored, you'll need to restore the iTunes Library.itl file from the backup from a time when the playlists had the correct content. Once this is done, make another backup then enable iTunes Match again and let it scan the library.

  • Had to reinstall iTunes after bad virus and now when I drag and drop song into custom playlist it won't added.  No green   appears, instead just the circle with slash.  What's going on?  a fix? Michael

I had to reformat after a bad virus and reinstall iTunes.  Now when I try to drag and drop a song into a custom playlist, it won't add the song.  Instead of the green + that is supposed to appear, it just shows the circle with cross slash.  I created numerous playlist before and never ran into this problem.  Any suggestions on how to fix it?  Thanks 1ngiri

OK, so I have now found that this is apparently normal for iTunes, to only accept mpeg 4 movie files, all the searching I did before I must have worded it wrong because I couldn't find anything about this, incredibly. Had been looking for why iTunes won't take all the files it previously did, like if it had been changed, and it hasn't, it's allegedly always taken only mpeg 4 files. Also I had been searching for why iTunes crashes every time I try and add/import anything but mpeg 4 files, and even sometimes with mpeg 4 files. That isn't normal, it's supposed to just do nothing apparently as I've just found out. So for these reasons I didn't find the answer despite my searching all over the web.
So I guess that answers my own question now, but I'm still perplexed as to why I absolutely, definitely, without any doubt, had several hundred movies of a few different video file types loaded, accessible and playable in my iTunes library that everything here claims iTunes never accepted. It apparently shouldn't have been possible for me to have done this, but for probably 10 years it's been this way.
Perhaps since I don't remember adding these files to iTunes anymore recently than maybe 6 or 7 years ago, the iTunes back then did accept all kinds of file types? Or could I have somehow had some video codecs or software that expanded the capability of my movie players like Quicktime Player that unwittingly also allowed iTunes to take those files as well? All I know is somehow it worked! So now my question is how did I have it working before, so that maybe I can make it work again.

  • ITunes 9: "M:\" in the Title Bar

Before upgrading to iTunes 9, the title bar on the main iTunes simply said, "iTunes". However, after upgrading to iTunes 9, the title bar text has something different: "M:\"
I keep my iTunes library (and the associated database files) on a partition of an external hard drive, to which I assigned the drive letter M. (M = "music," get it?) Anyway, I just find it strange that the main iTunes window says "M:\". It would be totally confusing if you also had an Explorer window open to the M drive (the title bar of which would also show "M:\"). Is there any way to change the title bar back to showing "iTunes" before this "M:\" problem drives me crazy?

This looks like an intended new feature of iTunes 9.
The title shows the name of the folder containing your iTunes library. Presumably it is intedned to help people who use iTunes with different libraries to see which library they are currently using.
If you don't like the feature, you need to use the feedback option on the iTunes help menu.
I would guess that you can fix this if you don't like it by closing iTunes and then renaming the folder containing your library to iTunes. Then do a shift key start to tell iTunes the new location of the library.
Hold down the shift key and start iTunes,. keep holding the shift key until your are promoted to choose a library. Navigate to you newly named iTunes folder and choose iTunes library.itl.

  • Custom title bar

    Hi All!
How do I add my own title bar to a JFrame?
I have managed to remove the default one. but I cannot figure out how to add a custom one.
I also want to place it above the JMenuBar so adding it to the content pane will not help.
    Any advise will be welcomed.
    Thanks,
    SIJP

My Look and feel is working just fine.
my problem is that I can do two things:
if I add the default title bar my l&f has two title bars and if I choose to make my look and feel have one title bar the windows L&F has no title bar at all.

  • Custom Title in PDA Front Panel Title Bar

    Hi,
I would like to customize the title in the front panel title bar of my PDA application after the application has loaded. Targeting Windows XP this can be done by using Property: Front Panel Window: Title, which is not supported by the PDA module (8.5).
Does anybody know of any workaround?
    Thanks,
    Volker

    Hi Volker,
    I'm
sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.  As you're probably aware,
architecting PDA applications is considerably different from architecting
Windows XP apps.  PDAs have very limited resources, and are not capable of
supporting the LabVIEW runtime engine, so the PDA module must "cut the
fat" by compiling the VI to native PDA code and by eliminating any
unnecessary features.  There may be other reasons that that feature has
not been implemented that I am unaware of, or it may simply be that R&D has
not made it a priority.  In either case, filing a product suggestion is
the best way to draw attention to it.
Also, FYI, the LabVIEW Help keeps a current list of supported properties and methods:

  • Playlist titles disappeared and cannot rename

I have recently updated my iTunes to 7.4.2. The other day I opened the application and 3 of my playlists had lost their titles. I tried to add the name back in but it won't allow me to edit it at all (the edit "window" doesn't open when I click on the title bar.)
Also, I was not able to shuffle my regular playlists.
Anyone else having these problems or know how to fix them?
    Thanks!

    Hey Frank,
Try re-creating your Playlists. Re-name them how they're supposed be named then drag the content of the problematic Playlists into those new ones.
This does not fix your problem, it eradicates it
Try that and tell me if it worked, or if there are still problems.

  • Edit & Print listing of all Playlist Titles

I have had to create custom 15 character Playlist Titles in order to navigate the iPod Classic through the factory radio in my vehicle using a 'Lockpick' adapter. The functionality works and sounds great, but its frustrating that I can't find a way to edit (add descriptions) and print a simple listing of my Playlist Titles for reference. Seems like a stupid question, but how do I access Playlist Titles as text within iTunes? Print Screen won't even work because the list is too long. But that shouldn't even be necessary. The Titles are visible in iTunes, where are they listed in the program files?

Use MetaData Repository in your BW system.
    On the Admin Workbench
       MetaData Repository
       Click Business Content
       Click on InfoObject Catalogue (SD)
       Select SD characteristics
       and print from there.
    Hope it helps,

  • ITunes Match and playlists broken in iOS 8

Since updating to iOS 8 I can no longer add songs to playlists from my phone (I have iTunes match).  When attempting to add a song sometimes it gets stuck in the add screen and does not show a "done" button to press or if I add one, it just doesn't add it to the playlist.  I can however add songs to the playlist from my mac and it will show up on my phone like normal, just unable to add from my phone.
Other iTunes or music app issues are songs not showing up where they should.  I had a song that downloaded from a pre-order, I changed the genre to one of the main genre's I use (like normal), added it to a playlist, and now that the entire album has become available and has downloaded the first track is not able to be found through either genre (either original or my own altered genre) or artist although it still shows up on the playlist.
One more thing about adding songs to a playlist on iOS.  I was glad to see that one of the buttons on the bottom (in the add screen) is playlists now as an option to add a song but if you edit the buttons on the bottom and move genre down there, it doesn't stay put.  It's back on the "more" screen each time.
Here's a suggestion to any apple folks if they're reading this, besides fixing the things above, how about from the song playing screen when you press the + button that an option is to "add to playlist".  When you click on that it brings you to your playlist view to select a playlist.  It's a pain in the butt when say you're listening to a song on shuffle, want to add said song to a playlist so you have to back out of the song playing screen, find the playlist (for which I have multiple layers due to playlist folders) click the add button, find the song (after you move genre to the bottom again) then click on the plus sign, hit done, make sure it took it, back out of the playlist view to get back to Now Playing.  For people like me who take advantage of iTunes Match and have a lot of music in their libaray, Genre and playlists are the easiest and quickest ways to find what I want to listen to and at times it's not very efficient.
Thanks for your considerations and eventual fixes.

iTunes Match has this problem with almost every iPhone software update. It's unfortunate that they cannot track down the issue. Hopefully this is not indicative of Apple's expertise when it comes to all cloud services. Music, photos and personal data are things that are important to all of us and we spend many hours on custom playlists, personal photo albums and are putting our trust that the work won't just disappear. iCloud drive is another promised feature and it's becoming tougher to trust a new free service when long-standing issues on a paid service cannot be fixed. I want to remain optimistic but so far, iTunes Match is not helping.
On a positive note, the playlists on my Apple TV matches perfectly with my iMac and was working well on my iPhone 5S. The update to iOS 8 on the 5S did NOT cause the playlists to go out of order. I have only seen this issue on new iPhone 6's and iOS 8. Also, moving playlists in and out of folders in iTunes on a Mac seems to be a temporary fix that only lasts as long as you are logged in – Signing out of iTunes Match on iOS and signing back in brings back the problem… which *****.

  • How to get rid of title bar of a quicktime window?

    The main problem:
I want to display the title info etc about each track as they play in iTunes. How can I do that on an otherwise black screen (desktop) (I don't want to use the visualizer with its psychedelic patterns).
    Background:
I want to play music from iTunes (many pieces in a row - for like a full day). While this is happening I want the title etc of the tune to be displayed on the screen, like white smallish text against a black background in the lower right hand corner. At the same time I want slides to be displayed on the screen.
So, with iPhoto I can run a slide show but only while one piece of music is playing.
Instead I can have the desktop slowly change (from system preferences) with images from a folder every 5 seconds. That's not too bad. Looks good, actually, except for that annoying menu bar at the top! Well, black tape can hide that one (or a second display and move it over there). Now iTunes can play away all day.
As to how to get the title etc of the song playing displayed I was thinking about somehow extracting it from iTunes with applescript, then paste it into the text track of a quicktime movie, and display that little movie in a small window. I have figured out how to get rid of the controller from the window. But, I can not figure out how to get the title bar of the quicktime window to go away - that is I want a window with nothing around it, neither controllers nor title bar nor anything. How do I create such a window. Any good ideas out there?
Or is there a totally different way of obtaining the same effect?
    Thanks.
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi,
You could try posting at the QuickTime discussion area. There might be an iTunes visualizer that allows you to make a slideshow with track info. It has been a while since I tried making a SMIL file, but I think you could do what you want with that. Not sure how you create a streaming text of track information. I would have to do some reviewing.

  • Any way to get at the title bar in JFrame?

I'd like to either add a button to the title bar (title pane?) or override the behavior of the resize button. As far as I can tell, the LookNFeel classes don't allow you to add anything, just change colors, icons, etc. The WindowListener classes don't let you get at the resize button. I don't want to override Component.setSize() (that causes other problems), I just want to have the resize button do something different (or add another button).
    I'd appreciate any ideas!

    1) You could create your own frame that extends JWindow. This would be quite involved, since you'd need to make it respond to mouse drags, mouse resizing etc explicitly (if you wanted that functionality), but you would be able to add your own custom border, which you could make to look like a system border, or you could make comletely different.
    2) I don't know this could be persuaded to do what you want, but you could try adding a ComponentListener to the JFrame to check for resizes, and take action accordingly

  • How to add a Button in JFrame title Bar ?

    Hi Folks,
I want to add a button near to JFrame's Minimize Button(On the title bar). How can i do it ? Should i extend RootPaneUI and add custom button ? Any other easy ways to do this ?
If anyone provides me Sample Code how to do it, It is much Appreciated.
    Thanks,

There's no easy way to achieve this. You'll have to provide a RootPaneUI delegate with a custom title pane implementation. There, you'll have to provide a custom layout to position your button. In addition, this approach will not work on look-and-feels that do not support decorated mode (such as Windows or GTK) since under such LAFs the title pane always comes from the OS.
