Itunes 11 : installation failed

i can download itunes and the drive or whatever from apple.com website, but once i click to install it, itunes installs until the very last step where it says "installation failed please try again". I have tried many many times and re set my laptop and everything, already tried to delete itunes and completely re install it, however now it wont let me re-install it and now i have no itunes at all!!!!

no, however my school has partial control over my laptop so i cant update it, should i take it to them and ask them to update to OS X 10.7.5? i went there today and asked them to fix it, and they told me they did but theyre just useless.

  • ITunes 6 installer fails

I've been having a nightmare trying to install iTunes 5 and when i heard iTunes 6 was released I hoped it would be the answer to my prayers. Alas, the same problem persists. The installer simply quits before finishing.
I've tried most if not all of the suggestions toonz and bnoir suggest.
I'm running XP Home with SP2 and all the latest updates on a P4 1.7 GHz with 512 MB.
The standalone QT installer fails as well with the message "The wizard was interrupted before QuickTime could be completely installed. The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installer again. Click finish to exit the wizard."
I've checked the permissions, the windows installer fixes, and various installer fixes mentioned to no avail.
    Please help.
    thanks,

David, are you seeing the same exact error message about the wizard being interrupted?
Let's get an installation log on the problem and send it to the Apple engineers.
    1. Turning on some advanced logging by creating a new file in your "Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp" folder with the name "QTInstallerLauncher.log". You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find this folder. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.)
    2. Start menu -> Run... In the text field of the dialog that comes up, type in "cmd" and hit return.
    3. In the command prompt dialog that comes up, find the Quicktime standalone installer on your desktop and drag it to this window. Then on the same line type in a space and then the following:
    /Verbose"c:\log.txt"
There is no space between the e in Verbose and the double quote (").
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
    and a file called:
"Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp\QTPluginInstaller_9999.log" (number may differ). You may have multiple files like this..... Send them all, or at least the most recent ones.
Find those files and send them to the apple moderator. Tell her Toonz sent you. It doesn't hurt to put the URL to this discussion thread, so that whoever gets it has some context.

  • Have begun having a problem - symptom is windows message saying "R6034 A program has attempted to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  I have re-installed Itunes, the installation failed with an inability to start apple mobile device service also.

Itunes quit working after a failed Itunes update.  Don't know why the update failed, but afterwords I got an error stating
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I removed and reinstalled iTunes.  This resulted a problem during the install - "Apple mobile device" service failed to start.  After ignoring this a couple of times, the install continued, ultimately resulting in failure, and the R6034 message showing up twice, once associated with iTunes.exe and once with ITunesHelper.exe.
Also got "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello Skip Grantham,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • ITunes/Quicktime Installation FAILS... Installation source Not found

Please help.  Everytime I try to install ITunes or Quicktime, it says installation source cannot be found.

  • HT1926 Routine update of iTunes failed. Eventually had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes x2. Installation failed with message 'Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

    Hi,
When I tried to install iTunes update this failed, then tried to uninstall and reinstall itunes twice. Failed again. Could not open iTunes. I use an HP PC. Even tried to disable Macafee firewall, still itunes failed to install. Please help!!

Followed these instructions with a few changes. (Windows 7 x64)
Uninstalled programs in the following order:
    - Itunes
    - Apple Application Support
    - Apple Software Update
    - Bonjour
    - Apple Mobile Device Support (uninstall failed due to Apple Mobile Device failure)***
    - Restarted System
    - Redownloaded Itunes from website.
    - Run installer as Administratot
    - Succefully installed
***To uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support
    - Right clicked on Apple Mobile Device Support, Clicked Charge (second option), Repair, Next (failed to repari)
    - Right clicked the Apple Mobile Device Support in the Programs and Features window and clicked Repair (third option in drop down list). (repaired successfully)
    - Uninstall successful after the repair.
Below is a guess at a quicker solution:
Looking at the uninstalls, it may be worth trying to repair the Apple Mobile Device Support through the Program and Features window before trying to uninstall everything.  It may be a faster fix for the freezing service.  After the repair is successful the itunes update may work.
    Hope this helps.

  • I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."  When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 1114".  I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. Help!

  • ITunes 10.5.3 installation failed

I downloaded iTunes for Mac 10.5.3 from Apple at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ today.
When I run the installer I get the following message:
    'The installation failed.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.'
    Really bizarre.
I'm open to suggestions here. Is the file Apple is serving at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ damaged?

Don't reinstall the OS for something this minor!  If the update fails, it is most likely related to a missing perl binary in your /usr/bin folder.
    Go to Terminal and type:
    which perl
If you do not get a response or it is anything other than /usr/bin/perl then you have found your problem.
This situation could have been caused by downloading ActivePerl and deleting the default perl included with the Mac OS.  You can fix it by creating a symbolic link.
    Go to Terminal and type:
    cd /usr/bin
    sudo ln -s /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.14/bin/perl perl
Now try to run your iTunes update.

    Hi hongkongpom,
Just wanted to say that after posting the problem, I had a chat with an iTunes' Tech Support, her name is Rebekah.  My problem was resolved after that.  Will list the chat history below in hopes that it may help you as well.
    Good luck!
    Samia

    Duration: 81 minutes 28 seconds
    Rebekah:
Welcome to AppleCare chat support. Please give me a moment to look over your information.
    Rebekah:
Hi, Samia! My name is Rebekah. If we get disconnected, please chat us back. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/contactEnter the case number from the initial email we sent you. This gives the next advisor you chat with immediate access to your case history.
    Rebekah:
Could you please confirm your serial number? I want to be sure we provide the best service possible for you, Samia!
    SAMIA:
    Sure, it's 8L8395UY2C5
    SAMIA:
    My problem is with iTunes.
    Rebekah:
Thanks for that confirmation. Just a heads up, this is iOS Tech Support. We do support iPod touches, iPads, and iPhones, but not the iPod classic. But no worries! I can get you in touch with a phone Advisor who can get you in touch with the department that specializes in iPod classics and would be able to better assist you. Would that be OK?
    SAMIA:
I wasn't able to install the new version of iTunes (version 11.1.1). The installation keeps failing. The they suggested the I install it manually and that failed too. I will attach the message I received.
    SAMIA:
    I don't have a problem with iPod.
    SAMIA:
    Just iTunes
    Rebekah:
No problem! We can certainly troubleshoot iTunes as much as possible. It may come to the point that you may have to transferred, but we can do as much as possible during this chat!
    Rebekah:
Thanks for the screenshot. It is a bit small so I am unable to fully see the message that you are receiving. What is the error message you are receiving?
    SAMIA:
This is the message I received in case you weren't able to open the attachment: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2324."
    Rebekah:
    Thanks for that info!
    SAMIA:
    Pleasure!
    Rebekah:
What version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7) do you have?
    SAMIA:
    Windows 7
    SAMIA:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Rebekah:
Thanks for that confirmation. I do apologize for the delay, Samia. I am researching this error code now. You mentioned trying to install iTunes manually. To be sure I am on the same page, what steps did you take to do that?
    SAMIA:
Well when the indsatalltion failed I was given instructions to select Download Only from Tools and then install manually. When I did it, I window popped up with the following items: - AppleApplicationSupport
    SAMIA:
    - AppleMobileDeviceSupport64
    SAMIA:
    - Bonjour64
    SAMIA:
    iTunes64
    SAMIA:
    SetupAdmin
    SAMIA:
I selected Repair in all of them instead of Remove and all worked but iTunes64
    SAMIA:
That's when I received the message that I sent you earlier.
    SAMIA:
By the way, this is the fir st time something like this occured. I never had problems with installation before.
    Rebekah:
I completely understand what you're saying. Since that Repair did not resolve the issue, our best option is to uninstall iTunes and its components and redownload it. To do this, we will follow the steps in this article: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    Rebekah:
First, we will want to quit iTunes and/or Apple Software Update if those are open at this time.
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, the instructions you gave says, "For Windows XP, follow these steps to remove and reinstall iTunes and other software components for Windows XP."
    SAMIA:
    I closed all applications
    SAMIA:
Also, my iTunes doesn't open anymore after the new failed installation.
    Rebekah:
The section that says "For Windows XP…" is in case we opened up the wrong article, as we have the one for Windows Vista, 7, or 8. There is a link to click ("these steps") in those directions that would take us to the article for uninstalling on a Windows XP.
    Rebekah:
So no worries! We have the right article!
    Rebekah:
On the computer, we will want to click on Start > Control Panel. In Control Panel, we will click the "Uninstall a program" link.
    SAMIA:
I thought so after doing a little exploration.
    SAMIA:
    done
    Rebekah:
Alright, we'll want to select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs. Then we will click Uninstall. When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, let's click Yes.
    Rebekah:
After the uninstallation is complete, we don't want to restart your computer if you're prompted.
    SAMIA:
    Done
    Rebekah:
Then if you see other iTunes entries on the list, we'll want to remove them the same way.
    Rebekah:
Then we will remove all instances of Apple Software Update the same way you removed iTunes.
    SAMIA:
Okay, but do I have to remoce iCloud as well?
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, I received the same error message again when uninstalling
    Rebekah:
We actually do not need to remove iCloud. After the Apple Software Update, we will want to remove all instances of Apple Mobile Device Support
    Rebekah:
How strange! Are you able to click past that and allow the process to continue or has it stopped it completely?
    SAMIA:
I am unable to uninstall iTunes either
    SAMIA:
    Stopped completely
    SAMIA:
    I treied clicking Repair
    Rebekah:
Alright, after trying the Repair option, let's see if it will allow us to continue uninstalling or not.
    SAMIA:
I tried that but unfortunately, it isn't working. I still get that same message with error code 2324.
    Rebekah:
This error code is not something that I am finding in my sources, Samia. So there is a chance that it is being caused with the Windows computer itself. However, I did find a link that may be able to help with uninstalling iTunes from Windows' support site: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, you're a genius! It worked! iTunes is no longer there. What next?
    Rebekah:
    Awesome! I'm glad that worked!
    Rebekah:
To be sure I am on the same page, what was the last component we uninstalled?
    SAMIA:
    iTunes
    SAMIA:
Shall I remove the Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update
    Rebekah:
That is correct! However, we do want to uninstall it in the order I mentioned above. So Apple Software Update first, Apple Mobile Device Support next, and then Apple Mobile Device Support.
    SAMIA:
Got it, but is the second one to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support OR Apple pplication Support?
    Rebekah:
The second one is Apple Mobile Device Support.
    Rebekah:
The Application Support will be the last component we uninstall.
    SAMIA:
    Thanks! I'm on it.
    SAMIA:
Done! ll 3 are gone, well 4 with iTunes. Now what?
    Rebekah:
Awesome! Also, I just noticed that I accidentally typed Apple Mobile Device Support twice, I do apologize for any confusion! Now we will remove all instances of Bonjour and then remove all instances of Apple Application Support.
    SAMIA:
There was only 1 instance with Bonjour. I don't know what the instances are for Apple Application Support
    Rebekah:
Yes, Bonjour is often only listed once. Is the Apple Application Support listed at all?
    SAMIA:
    No
    SAMIA:
    Since I removed it
    Rebekah:
Oh, perfect! If it was removed, we should be set!
    Rebekah:
We have removed iTunes and its components now! From here, our next step is to restart the computer. Then once you reboot, you can redownload iTunes from apple.com/itunes
    Rebekah:
That should allow you to download iTunes!
    SAMIA:
Shall I downloaad the latest vesion?
    Rebekah:
You will want to first restart the computer as shown in the article. That will ensure that this process goes smoothly and that everything was removed correctly! Then you can try downloading iTunes again.
    SAMIA:
    Okay, thanks Rebekah!
    Rebekah:
You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help! And of course if you have any issue after the reboot and download, you can always chat us back, as chat is open 24 hours! You will just need to give your case number and the next Advisor would have all my notes!
    SAMIA:
Thanks again for all your help, for I couldn't have managed with out it. Have a nice day!
    Rebekah:
You're very welcome! I know how important iTunes is and I'm glad we could get you on a path to resolution!
    Rebekah:
I hope you have a lovely day!
    Rebekah:
It's been a pleasure speaking with you! Thanks for chatting with us Samia. If you don't have any more questions, select End Chat from the upper left corner of the chat window.
    SAMIA:
    Will do, thanks.

  • Itunes/Ipod installation continues to fail

    Hello,
Nothing seems to be going right with my ipod set up. I thought the issue was with a conflict with Norton, so I removed that, but still no luck. Here's the rundown: Install itunes on my computer. This runs without a hitch except at the end I receive an error (quicktime installation failed : -3). I make sure quicktime is uninstalled completely before trying to install, but I still get the error. Ok. Well, I plug in my ipod, open up Itunes (itunes doesnt open automatically upon connection of ipod), and I get the message "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes." Alright. Fair enough, though I can't imagine why I'm getting this warning. I click ok, and a new, friendly warning tells me "the software required for communicating with the ipod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes to install the ipods software." Great. The ipod is recognized in my computer (it shows up as the E: drive), but that's about it. Attempts to use the Ipod updater gives me an "ipod service error." I have attempted reinstalling itunes numerous times, making sure that all bits are completely removed. I downloaded the latest version of itunes. It seems that there are those who are having problems similar to mine, so I avoided making a post and flooding the forum with more of the same, but none of the solutions I read have helped. I'd love for someone to assist me, I've had my ipod for several months and haven't been able to use it!
Thank you very much in advanced,
    --Zach

If the problem still occurs after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod, then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How to  update iTunes - installation failed. iTunes 10.6 to 10.7 or 11

How to  update iTunes - it goes through the verification process and then gives the error " installation failed". With no error codes. My Macbook Pro is running Lion 10.7.5 and I have iTunes 10.6 and need to upgrade  to 10.7 or 11. My iphone can't be used until I update iTunes

I downloaded iTunes 10.7 and 11 from the sight and went throught the installation process on both versions and still get the "installation failed" error message at the very end.  I tried to delete iTunes from the Library after several attempts to just reinstall and got the same thing. If I try to install from the software update under the apple top left, it goes throught the whole process and gives me the "no updates were installed due to an error, contact your manufacturer".  I am running Lion 10.7.5 on my Macbook Pro. Nothing seems to work.  My iTunes works fine  but in order to get the media off of my iphone 4 running ios 6 I have to have iTunes 10.7 or later which I can't install.  Totally frustrated.

  • ITunes 7.3 installation failed (Windows XP)

While installing iTunes 7.3 on my Windows XP computer, the installation failed because the installer didn't have sufficient privileges to modify AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe. I've tried uninstalling a previous version of iTunes and reinstalling it; I've tried uninstalling every Apple software I could find and reinstalling iTunes; and I can't restore my laptop to factory settings. And yet it seems iTunes is continuing to be stubborn, rendering my efforts futile. Please help me to identify and solve this problem so that I may use my new iPod.
    Thanks!

  • ITunes Producer installation error

iTunes Producer gives me this installation error:
    "The installation failed.
    An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8, 2.53 GHz Intel processor, 4 GB RAM, with 30 GB of space available on my hard drive. I've already contacted iBookstore Publisher Support. They sent me here. Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help,
    Josh

I just installed Snow Leopard from install DVD 10.6 and then used software update to insure I have the latest system everything on this MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz processor, 2GB ram, 133 GB available space on the hard drive.
I get the same error as above.
    "The installation failed.
    An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Not only that, I also tried the installation on a recently purchased Mac Mini. Same problem.
Any hints, folks? It's annoying that the only install of iTunes Producer I can use is on my old, out of date Mac that I am now afraid to upgrade the system on because if this keps happening, I won't be able to upload to iBooks at all.

I have other software to complete the multimedia experience. what should I do with the constant automatic attempt to update
