Itunes 11 missing display device button cant send to Air play devices
Hello, does anyone know where the button went in ITunes 11 that you can select what device you want to listen or watch on? There used to be a little TV/Screen image in the lower right of the bottom bar where you could select Computer/Apple TV or Iphone but this is no longer there so I cant push items from my computer directly from my computer to my Apple TV gen2 without logging into the Apple TV and going through the hassel of searching for the song or video and so forth. This is a pain in the butt. It is also gone from the latest Iphone update so if I am listening to the phone and want to send it to the stereo cant do that either so anyone know what is going on??

you'll want to look for that same little mirror play logo image - itunes 11 should be on the top menu bar. On you i device double tap the home button and swipe from left to right on the bottom of the screen that pops up and you should see the mirroring icon there.

Do you have OS x 10.8 Mountain Lion, any earlier OS such as Lion will NOT mirror. It is not an update it is a purchase from the app store.
Third party apps such as airparrot or reflectorapp can help too.

I am trying to restore my Apple TV because when updating, it showed the USB cable point an arrow to the iTunes app icon. I call the apple support team and they said to connect the micro usb cable to my computer. But iTunes isn't showing the devices screen so I cannot do anything. Maybe it's the cable or something. Help.
Have you tried the following:
Disconnect the HDMI, power and USB cables
Wait for 10 seconds
Reconnect the USB cable
Immediately hold the menu and play buttons on the remote for 15 seconds
Apple TV 2 should now start flashing the LED wildly and appear in iTunes with the restore button.
If it still doesn’t show up, maybe it's your cable (even if it works just fine with other devices). Sometimes you need to wiggle the USB plug or put a little weight on it in order to have a reliable connection. Or just try another cable if you have one, sometimes that helps too.
If that still doesn't work, try the above but add the power cord after step 3 (and before step 4).
@Hecumi: this goes for your 2nd gen Apple TV as well, incl. the last tip concerning the power cord.

i have this same problem. i have XP and my 4G ipod touch won't get recognized in iTunes but it will in my computer. this is some weird stuff. i upgrade to the newest version of iTunes and this is what happens to my pc??? now whenever i want to put music on my iPod i have to go to copy the music on a USB flash drive, take it to my slower computer who doesnt have usb 2.0 ports and add it there because all the music is on my external hard drive. oh and the old pc only has 2 USB ports!! so one is for the mouse and the other one can either be used for the iPod or USB flash drive. i can either reboot my computer and loose EVERYTHING i have on it or wait for the next version of iTunes and hope they fix this obnoxious bug. ugh i called apple and they had no solutions for me. and yes i have tried the obvious uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. resetting the ipod. restarting the computer. i have read up on it and tried pretty much everything to fix this problem. i even uninstalled my anti virus software. this is so annoying. i may have to turn to some 3rd party program if apple doesnt come out with a solution soon.

Used to be able to pick out which songs in iTunes in my computer were not on a 2nd computer on homeshare in iTunes 10. Now with V11, cant find the button that compares two libraries and finds the songs that are different. Anyone know how to do this now?

I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. Second which Samsung Galaxy mini model did you purchase? The S3 mini or the S4 mini? Did you do any research prior to deciding on this device. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter? -
Just bought a nano and want to download some of my iTunes library. The "Music" button shows almost all my selections but some albums are missing, yet ONLY those albums appear on the nano icon on my desktop after being dragged there but none of the others. What's happening?
I've read some of the post here that I thought might help but they refer to titles (Music) and triangles in the "Devices" window which are nowhere to be seen when I open the "Devices" window.
I have iTunes 11.0.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8. Does this make a difference?I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

iphone 4 black screen, tried dfu mode itunes not picking up device. not able to bring up red phone off slide bar or apple logo if any combination of button holding.
Phone was given to me by apple 2 weeks ago. Last I saw of it working was phone was off so i did the quick reset. Apple logo came up, it started up and keypad for passcode came up. It said 2% battery then went up to 64% a second later. When I was playing wth it not 5mins before it was at 65% so would make sence that later indication was correct. Before I could type the 4 digit passcode in the phone turned off to black screen. Now I have tried all possible reset options incuding the 10 second hold down of both buttons for less than 10 seconds and longer than 10 seconds. Nothing is working. iTunes is not recognising the device at all. Ive had it plugged into a wall socket for three hours and the computer for 2 hours and no signal of life. Ive tried the forums on here and the youtube vidoes and seem to know what im doing with resets. Anyone able to shed some light?Not being able to get DFU Mode indicates hardware failure. Since you recently received this iPhone from Apple it has at a minimum 90 day Warranty. Make Genius reservation or make service arrangements and take or send to Apple for resolution. Regarding what is actually wrong with the iPhone, it could be possibility of several things. But some of the features point directly to battery. First step in fixing this iPhone would be battery replacement. Then trouble-shooting from there if still problem. Take it to Apple.

iTunes is telling me there is something wrong with my iPhone, what should I do? I have the 16GB iPhone 4 and I bought it 2nd hand with no reciept so I cant send it off. What should I do? This happens after i updated it and I click sync.

I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device. I've already spent way too much time trying to figure this out and it's driving me crazy! Thanks for any help you can offer.
This is correct. It will not show in finder. It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases -

@Dmitriy Buldakov, have you found the solution to the issue yet? I have the same problem, no option to turn on MMS in my iPhone settings. I checked the settings on my friend's iPhone, which has the same iOS version as me (8.1.1), and the option is there. It's really annoying...

i cant send or recieve any emails to my icloud account, i can log into the icloud and use photostream, contacts but whenever i go to click on the email button it says an error has occured. When i selct the mail button on the iphone or ipad it say user name or password is incoreect which it isnt for sure
