Itunes 11: no music nor video playing

Downloaded 11, but now nothing plays- can't listen to my library, can't get previews in the itunes store to work, not even the tutorials for the new software. The progress bar and "play" "pause" buttons show up, but no action. Any thoughts??

After my last restart, all seems to be working. I feel like a knucklehead- not sure why the change. Perhaps after I downloaded the new software, the computer only "slept" when I thoguth it had restarted....

The music and videos sync to the 4G, but apps & podcast will not. All are checked to sync. During sync, it gets to "determining apps to sync" then immediately goes to "finished syncing". No apps or podcasts from my Mac itunes are on the touch 4G.

You can only sync to one iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computer/libraries.
It appears that you are trying to sync with a different library.
- If you want to make the Mac you syncing computer:
--- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by:
iOS: How to back up
--- Restore the iPod from that backup. Note that synced media like apps and music are not in included in the backup.

Mute music when videos play in iPhoto

I have a presentation that combines photos and a few videos in iPhoto. I am using music form my itunes library. How can I get the music to stop playing or mute when the videos play in iPhoto (so we can hear the sounds from the imported video) then start or unmute the itunes music when iPhoto is back to showing photos? Does that make sense?

That's not a feature in iPhoto. iDVD has such a feature but doesn't work very well at all. You might be able to create the slideshow in iMovie and mute the added music during the video clips. I don't use the latest version of iPhoto so can't help there. It's easy if you use the older iMovie 6 HD version.

How do you stop music while video plays???

Ok...so here's the deal. I'm making a movie that is a combination of pictures and videos. It's basically like a slideshow type thing, but now I'm adding video to it. I've already put all the pictures and transitions and music that goes along with that, but now I'm trying to add my videos in between some of the pictures. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to stop (like completely stop/cut the music clip) while the video is playing, then resume the music at the end of the video at the point where it was stopped before. Does that make sense? I don't want to simply lower the volume of the music...I want to completely stop it so you can hear the audio of the new video. I have tried trimming the audio, but I haven't figured out how to get it to do what I want. So basically, how can you stop music while a video plays and then resume that same music at the end of the video from the point where it was cut?

So i think you have clips with their own audio that you want the added music track silenced during those clips alone. Click on the clip in question, go to inspector, audio, "Ducking" and X that box "reduce volume of other tracks" and pull it to 0%. i think that will do it

Grayed out songs on iTunes despite "Manage music and videos manually" being checked.

I had to restore my iPod, and when I synced it after the restore, the songs were gone on my iPod like it is supposed to be, but on iTunes they are still there but grayed out. I have already done the "manage music and videos manually" thing, I delete all of the grayed out songs and try to add the songs from my library back to my iPod, but they are still grayed out. Please help if you can, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't use manually manage so I'm at a loss as to why anyone would.
However, if I was Syncing my iPod to iTunes, then the picture you have posted would be just like that while iTunes was busy putting my music back onto my iPod. That's what the little double-arrow icon means; it's a list of files that you have asked to be put on the iPod (in my case, by Syncing the ticked items in my Library and in yours - apparently, by manually dragging them from the library to the iPod).
As each file is successfully added to the iPod, the progress arrows icon disappears and the song (file) name is no longer greyed out.

[zen x-fi2] issue with transflash music or video playing

Hi All,
i've a xfi-2 player and a 6gb transflash memory.
Every time I try to access music or videos in my microsd section i get this message:
"Ready to build library, This may take a few minutes. Proceed?"
I think that this message should appear only the first time or if i add/remove something. Instead All the times I access music or videos on memory i must wait about 2 minutes before i can play because it must build library, is it normal?
Another question, is it possible on playing mode keep "play buttons" on top, without they automatically hide?It's not a great feature I think.

What happen when updating to iTunes 11 ? My music will not play without headphones. I have reset , rebooted, cleaned the jack port. There are hundreds of people listed on Googles with same problem. Went to Verizon stores and apple store and no one helped.

Itunes will not play my music nor videos

I recently updated to itunes about a week ago..and for some odd reason my itunes will not play any music that is located in the itunes music library.. I un-installed it, then re-installed it..and it still did not play the music.. I believe it has affected my windows media player on my computer as well. I was wondering if anyone had any information or a solution to my problem??

You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

I updated my iPhone 4 to the iOS 6. I no longer have any ringers sounds, and neither my music nor videos will play. They are listed, but when I press the play button, nothing happens. Solutions?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

IOS 7.0.2 - ITunes Manually manage music and videos option - all of my music has disappeared?

Hi all - I clicked the above option because I was having issues moving tracks to my I-Phone. Except now, ALL of the songs I have ripped manually from my old CDs previously have disappeared - ***? I'm talking well over 800 songs!!!!!!
I can't see them anymore in my IPhone or the Library, so assume they have gone.
How the f*ck is this possible? I didn't choose any delete option.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Guess I have to spend hours doing them all again.

Happened to multiple people and everyone blames different things. What they don't realize is that itunes, just like Windows Media player do not contain music. They just see it on the computer and allow to play. Music can only dissapear if was deleted from itunes or if itunes do not have access to library. There are multiple programs on Windows that can stop itunes from accessing library, example McAfee real time scanner did it 4 months ago and
I don't know if that was ever fixed. So find that music and reimport that is all.

After updating my ios and itunes my music on my ipod will not play and an error sign ! shows up to the left of every song when clicked to play. Also when i undock the ipod it would show that all my music is gone! But when i redock the ipod it shows that all the music is still there! I updated my iPhone 4s to ios7 today. I updated itunes to itunes 11.1 so I could sync it (on a toshibia pc running windows vista).
Ever since the update, my Iphone won't play music that I haven't purchased off the itunes store, even though it does appear on my phone, and my itunes has been stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" and won't finish the section of the sync.
What should I do?

Does the music play properly in iTunes? You may need to backup and then immediately restore the device.

ITunes not working, music will not play, volume not responding...

For the past few days i have not been able to get my iTunes to play music. I can open the program and move around ok, even select a playlist. But when I hit play the song comes up.. but it will not play. I am also not getting any sound. Have tried to re-set the volume with the keyboard keys above the number pad.. but I am only getting the little shaded box with a blocked icon (little circle with backslash through it.) I can not turn on the volume, I can not get any music to play.. I have tried restarting as well as re-installing iTunes.. and nothing is working. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

try these troubleshooting steps:
_*resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM*_
if no joy, try booting into _*safe mode*_, then reboot normally.

ITunes 8.1 crashes on video play

Since iTunes auto updated to 8.1 when I attempt to play a video I receive the popup of death --
"iTunes has stopped working
A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Which is bs... there's never a solution from Microsoft other than uninstall the program or don't use it. Calling India for help with Microsoft is like closing your head in a door... useless, painful and a waste of time.
Do I simply need to downgrade itunes if so how? or is there another issue? Running Vista - sli 8500 geforce video - 2.6 quad - 3gb ram - realtec hd audio. All drivers up to date.
