ITunes 11 Podcasts downloading problem

I subscribe severall podcasts. There's one of them, I don't know why, at the office downloads very slowly. To get it to download quickly, I am always pausing and resming the download.
In iTunes 11 when I pause when resuming the status bar comes a little bit back (eg. when pause there's 660 kb's downloaded, when resuming it goes to 500 Kb's)!
The other strange thing is that it dowloads more than the size of the podcast file!
When listening This, it is always coming back and forward.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Please try to pause and resume a podcast download an see what happens.
Thanks,
Jorge

Similar problem with iTunes 11.0.1.12 on win7. The crash seems to occur during the "file processing" part of downloading. I've tried removing the download file from the iTunes folder - it doesn't help.  Really frustrating problem. It doesn't generate any error message beyond itunes need to stop and searching for a solution (the "solution" to update iTunes is the PROBLEM - not a solution).
I've installed VLC to play the files but it isn't iTunes and it won't sync with my ipod so... Apple people - - can't you do some simple software??? Do you really have to head towards bankruptcy again????
Geesh the Google maps flap was bad enough!

  • ITunes 5 & 6 Download Problems

For the past couple of days I could not buy/download music with iTunes 5 (no problems in the past). Therefore, I tried downloading iTunes 6 to solve this problem and now I can't even open iTunes at all. I've tried to re-load iTunes 6 three or four times and nothing works. Error states 'iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close'. I have Windows XP. No idea what to do, and from the other posts, it looks like many other people are having the same problem.

    hi Janice!
I can't even open iTunes at all. I've tried to re-load iTunes 6 three or four times and nothing works. Error states 'iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close'
(jost checking ... before when you couldn't get 5.0.x to launch, were you getting the same error message? or was itunes just refusing to launch, with no error message? if the latter, are you also running Norton Internet Security 2005?)
hmmmm. we'd better check to see if you've got a broken quicktime. can you launch your Quicktime at all?
if not, download a copy of the standalone QT installer and save it to your hard drive. (we'll run your install from there rather than on-line.) here's a link to a standalone:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
switch off both your antivirus and antispyware prior to the install.
will itunes launch now? if not, what error message is it giving you?
    keep us posted.
    love, b

  • PUHHHLEEEEZZE  Please Please FIX  the iTunes 7 PODCAST reboot problem

Many of the forum users who play PodCasts are not able to play PodCasts in iTunes ver. 7.0.1.8 becuase the unit reboots when attempting to play PodCasts
    UNLESS.....
you reset all of your settings immediately prior to playing the PodCast, then the PodCast will play. Buy you will have to reset your EQ to your music choice later again to get back to the sound you want for music.
THIS IS HEAP BIG PAIN IN TEE-PEE
    BOWELS NO MOVE!

On the "flip-side", I had the smoothest and quickest iTunes upgrade/install ever.  This was on my Windows 7 Professional, 64bit system.
That you performed an assumedly 'clean' reinstall of your OS, is not a good sign.  Obviously, iTunes doesn't like something within your system.
Here are the next steps that I would take if in your position:
    -  Are you absolutely positive that you have the 64bit version of iTunes?
    -  Re-download a new copy of the 64bit version of iTunes 10.5
    -  Try downloading iTunes from one of the 'mirror sites' - FileHippo is good
    -  Call your PC's manufacturer and see if they are aware of any conflicts with your specific machine's build with respect to iTunes
    -  Temporarily use another PC (if available) to get your iPhones up and running
    Best of Luck

  • ITunes podcast downloading problem.  "Authorization is required to access" error message.

I've been subsribing to a podcast through iTunes for years with no problems, but today I get the error message:
"There was a problem downloading (podcast name).  Authorization is required to access (url feed)"
Its a BBC podcast and I now get the same error message for all the other BBC podcasts that I subscribe to.  I also cant play or download any BBC podcasts from the iTunes Store.  All other podcasts by all other providers are fine.
Weirdly this problem seems to be limited to the Macbook Pro as the iMac on the same network can access the problem podcasts with no hassle.
A few web searches have turned up very little, any ideas in Apple Communities-land!

Hey Roger and thanks for your amazingly quick response.
I did a quick confirm: it doesn't seem to work on any Windows machines I can get my hands on, so it isn't something specific to me (whew!).  It definitely DOES work on any Mac I can get my hands on (which you also confirmed - thanks).
That link, the feedproxy.google.com one, works fine on Windows and Mac alike.  I very much imagine that someone else is using FeedBurner and while I'm not huge into podcasts, there are a lot of others who are.  This issue would've come up if it were something like that.  Either way: I can access that link (and thus the content) just fine on any machine I'm on.
So, what you're saying is to ditch FeedBurner entirely and just submit the raw feed to iTunes.  That sounds good (and, if I want more indepth statistics later, I'll cross that bridge then)...but I'm afraid I'm not sure how to do that.  I've already submitted the FeedBurner feed to iTunes and I'm not sure how I'd go about changing it.  Would I simply ask iTunes to delete the old feed and more or less resubmit?
Thanks for the help about the artwork.  The individual files may very well be missing the metadata, as when I asked the guy doing that if he had included the artwork, he indicated he was rather confused.  I'll test that out in a bit.  The feed artwork, however, I must admit ignorance about.  Where might I be able to change that?  I'm using WordPress and...PowerPress/BluBrry (or whatever it's referred to).
Thanks again for being so incredibly helpful with all this.  And so timely, too.

  • Podcast download problems - suddenly

I've been happily downloading podcasts through iTunes for some time
Now, suddenly (it seems), it no longer works
I can subscrive to podcasts, I can get an "episode list" of a podcast, but when I try to actually download the podcast episodes, I get an iTunes error message which says
"There was a problem downloading (podcast episode name. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
What on earth is it talking about??
I'd be very grateful for some suggestions to help track down why this is not working when it was only a few weeks ago
    Thanks
    Phil G

Maybe it's permissions on some parent folders.
When you get a podcast, what itunes does is create a temporary folder named Podcasts in a folder named Downloads. When the DL finishes, itunes does some rearranging by putting podcast in the final Podcast folder and deleting the temporary Podcast folder.
So look at permissions on the Download folder - read/write isn't enough, you need create/delete for that temporary "Podcast" folder, too. Full control over the entire music folder & subfolders should fix it.

  • Podcast Downloading Problem

I've recently bought a new iPod so I'm new to the whole Podcasting thing. My problem is that when I try download a Podcast from a certain subscriber I get an exclaimation mark after it finished downloading with an error message stating "The file might be corrupted, or a file type that iTunes cannot play." But if I download from another subscriber I get no problems at all. Is there a reason why I have problems downloading Podcasts from certain subscribers and not others? And is there any way I could fix this problem?

Never mind I've figured it out! I was using and older version of Quicktime that did not support the format for those particular Podcasts videos. All I had to do was update my Quicktime Player!

  • ITunes 8.2 download problem error message

Am running windows vista and logged in under administrator account. Tried to download itunes 8.2 both from a "clean install" (deleted existing itunes files, temp folders, uninstalled all versions of itunes and quicktime) and with my existing itunes software but getting an error message "could not access network location %APPDATA%\.
PS. If there is a problem with itunes 8.2 and not my PC, anyway to get an older version of itunes back on my pc?

First thing to check is QT's compatibility mode setting, as explained here

  • Apps & podcast download problem

2days before I started downloading  10 apps and 8 podcast but today when I switched on my iPad podcast is processing and apps are waiting for
Long time , what to do

I have found the solution.  Just restore your ipad in the settings. All your apps will remain. and when ur ipad is restored, it will ask for whether to restore all items from icloud. then do it. but i couldn't do it as my wifi connection was slow. so I created new ipad. but my apps remained same. And my podcast started downloading but failed and asked for done or retry. I pressed done and went into itunes and deleted the podcast, following the same i deleted all podcast and downloading apps. Now my ipad is fresh and I am again downloading free apps.

  • Podcast download problem n78

    Hi all,
I have been using the podcasting app with out a hitch for a couple of months now but as of yesterday I am unable to download from my subscribed cast's.
when I initiate the download it goes from 0% to 100% instantly and then when I press play I get an error message which reads; card 16 ERROR the requested item could not be loaded.
I have tried formatting the card and I also switched the download to save to the phone, all with no success.
    any ideas

I subscribe to Adam and Joe too, they download for me fine. That would rule out any problems at their end.
I'm using a 5800, not an N78, but it uses the same Podcasting application, so it also rules out compatibility problems (and you said you'd been using the feeds before anyway).
Try deleting the Adam and Joe podcast totally, then subscribe to it by adding the BBC's podcast directory:
    http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/8868_How_to_browse_and_subscribe_to.php
Go to the 6 music directory, then click on the A&J podcast. Then go back to the main podcasts section and see if you can download it.

  • ITunes 12 podcast "download all"?

Is there a "download all" function in iTunes12 for podcasts?

Yes I had this problem with podcasts, accidentally discovered the doubleclicking to download,  I noticed that it happened when a program downloaded more than one episode at the same time....I dont know of any other way to download other than manually.

  • ITunes TV show download problem

I successfully downloaded Battlestar Galactica episode: Torn after installing iTunes 7.0.2. After restart, the episode is nowhere to be found. It isn't listed in my purchases or in the TV Shows section of the library. Of course, the Store's "check purchases" shows I already downloaded it.
It looks like others have had trouble with this episode, but mine downloaded with no trouble. It seems to have disappeared. What should I do? Where can it be?
    Thanks,
    -Ken

I have this problem right now with about 30 episdoes bought with season passes...no solution yet. But at least try searching - and make sure to select all hard drives (internal and external) where they might be. Files like this dhow up under "Other" in the search hierarchy - as an .mp4 file. Use only part of the name to search to make sure you don't fall prey to a typing error...also, if you have downloaded any other tv shows, search for them to see the path where they are stored...

  • Itunes version 8 download problem

k, I have a Windows XP and I have downloaded service pack 2 and 3. I have also downloaded the setup for itunes version 8.0 (or whatever the newest version is) from the apple website. I currently have itunes 7.4.3 and I have just recently purchased an ipod nano (Apple's newest version of it). I need to download itunes version 8.0 so I will be able to use my nano (which is not compatible with my current version). However every time I try and download the version, I get a message that says, " There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." (I downloaded the service packages from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/) My question is do I need another service package or what program do I need to complete the installation of itunes 8.0?
Also, if anyone could respond before January 10th that would be awesome XD (since that is the last day I can return the nano and get most of my $150 back O_O)

When you get this kind of "package" message the problem is often with Apple Software Update.
Uninstall ASU using the method for removing ASU in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
It may well fail to uninstall. If it does you need an installer clean up.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup
Run the clean up utility and remove any references you find to Apple Software Update.
Hopefully that will allow your install to go though.
Download the iTunes installer from here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the installer on your desktop an run it from there.

  • ITunes gift cards & download problem

I am trying to help my son download songs onto his new iPod. 1st problem that occurred is that I don't get the option to purchase w/ a gift card. It automatically is charged to my credit card. I am unable to get my options set to being able to edit my shopping cart, etc.
2nd problem is that I am unable to get the songs from my computer to my iPod. I get an error message that I am not authorized to play the songs on this computer. How frustrating. I am the administrator of the computer and have the ability to do whatever I want, i.e. download, chat, etc. I don't understand this at all.
Can anyone help me with one or both of these issues?
      Windows XP

to redeem a gift card, firstly dont try and create an accoutn. go to the itunes music store homepage. on the top right side corner it should have some QUICK LINKS
select redeem and then type your code in there.
a lot of people have been having difficulties today due to a backlog of traffic on the servers... try that.

  • IPod classic podcast download problem

How can I redownload my podcasts which disappeared the last time I synced my iPod Classic 160gb?

I think i fixed the problem something i didn't want to do, but i tried unchecking each artist and removing them from the ipod and check them back and put them back on the ipod i also reset my ipod but none of that still didn't work so i decided to restore my ipod something i didn't want to do because i have so much music and put everything back on my ipod and that seem to work so just have to see how long it stay like that before the artwork get screwed up again which i hope not.
so if anyone else is having the same problem with the artwork messed up on your ipod just restore your ipod, it worked for me.
