ITunes 11 Visualizer question

Hi everybody,
does anyone know if there is an option to have the artist name and CD cover continuously displayed?
Right now it is very small and appears for about ten seconds. Is there a way to adjust this time frame?

I looked around for a solution to this, and this is the best I found.
Set the visualizer to "Classic". Turn it on. Once on, press the "L" key on your keyboard. A little message should appear in the top right hand corner that says "Always display track information" and the track name etc should stay displayed.
I don't think this works in the other visualizer settings. Not sure why.

ITunes classic visualizer no longer works in slide-show mode?

I am using iTunes 8.1 (50) and have just noticed that the iTunes classic visualizer no longer works in slide show mode, which means that it just keeps the same colors and patterns without changing automatically, like it used to do. I can press "R" on the keyboard, which loads a new random collection of settings but again it just keeps them without changing. I tried also pressing "D" to go to default settings, but it did not help. Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas for a fix?

Good to know it's not just me. Sure, the old visualizer is anything but a vital feature, but still it's cool to get some variety sometimes so I hope there comes a fix for it.

Trying to purchase any media in iTunes and security questions. And yes, many iTunes purchases have been made on my iPad2.
With my 3 y/o iPad 2, I've been greeted with the security questions:
Childhood friend and first car.
I don't remember either as far as answers go.
So going to customer support, I was greeted again with non-specific areas of faq.
I'd like to find another way to recover my security answers other than this run around forms.
Just riles me to have to resort to this.

Just to follow up on my small issue.
Called support explained situation to Bruno. Outstanding customer service! In mere moments I was totally reset and back downloading in minutes.
Fast, courteous, and personable service.
Yeah, no wonder I've been a loyal Apple customer since 1998.
And that $19 support charge? Fuggetaboutit. Never happened.

ITunes visualizer question.

Hi, Does anyone here have an old itunes visualizer plugin called NastyFFT,
that I could download. I could not download it anymore from the web, the
original website does not exist anymore.

White Circles in new iTunes 8 Visualizer on GMA950

Has anyone found a solution yet? This was posted a while back, but the thread was archived.
I noticed that this is not a problem on my MacBook while in MacOS, but as soon as I switch to XP, the problem is there. I have not tried it in Vista or Windows 7 for which the OpenGL drivers might be more up to date.
This issue also occurs on my netbook in XP; said netbook also has a GMA950 integrated graphics chipset. I think it has something to do with certain OpenGL extensions not being supported; I don't have this problem on PC notebooks with either NVidia or ATI chipsets.

Well, I think I'm answering my own question.
Vista and Windows 7's graphics drivers (DX10) can support the reflection. It was probably turned off when iTunes runs on XP to avoid crashes, slowdowns, or something. Anyway, the GMA950 drivers for Vista or Windows 7 work as well with this visualizer as the Mac drivers do in MacOS.
I'm just bummed Apple left out a bunch of other visualizer modes from the Windows versions of iTunes. No fair I say!

Fresh Install of iTunes and some Questions

I just did a fresh install, set up home sharing, and did an iCloud match so my whole library is in the cloud. I have my library file stored locally but my music files on my NAS. Here are my questions:
1. I want to install iTunes on my wifes computer, set up iTunes match for her, set up shaing. She will have a "shell" setup where notjing is stored as she is sharing with me and accessing the cloud. Do I need to set up that computer under my user id even though she has her own? I figure thats the only way to get her to iTunes match that I have?
2. How do I do this all? Meaning, I will have a local library file for her but I need to point her laptop to the NAS with the files on them. If I change her iTunes media file to that location on the NAS and check keep organized, will it screw up the files I have there? I noticed when I did that on my PC it moved some fles around and I had to reassociate lost files to songs. Took hurs. Would iTunes have done that automatically for me somehow? Should I not check the keep organized for her as she will not be adding music anyhow? What is the harm either way?
3. How do I see my pictures on my ATV unit? I thought I used to be able to but don't see an "app" on the ATV to do so, just photo stream which I do not want to do. I thought I used to be able to access the pictures stored on my NAS? Am I dreaming this or did it go away? My NAS is an iTunes server and I swear I used to be able to access them from my ATV? All I see on my ATV under my library is music, podcasts and movies.
4. I have my NAS sharing (home sharing) and I can see it on my laptop with iTuenes installed. When I click on it I see only music, no movies or anything else, why is that and is it something to do with home sharing? But, like I said I can see thse movies on ATV under my library. I can also see my playlists on the shared on my laptop but nothing is in them. I think that may be becuase they were set up under another library and now that I hve a new library file, they don't carry over? I don't see any of said playlists in the sttandard iTunes interface under playlists, just under the shared however like I said, no files in them. Also, the share comes and goes as in sometimes I see it sometimes I don't however I am always able to access the NAS from iTunes. Strange, may be network issues?
5. Along those same lines, sometimes the home share just up and dissapears from ATV. Maybe a network issue?
6. Lastly, I just did my first backup/sync to my new laptop with the frsh install of iTunes on it. It gave me some sort of message that I can only sync to one computer and do I want to overwrite or whatever? I said no and it did nothing. After that, I did a back-up however it seemed to go fast and I also did a sunc. The sync was three steps, used to be like six and I did not notice any of my new apps being copied to it. Something is wrong here but not sure what to do, ideas?

#4 - make sure you are sharing out all the items in your itunes library (music, movies, etc)
you should be able to do that under preferences
you may also want to check if it is pointing to the correct library
#1 - home sharing should work on the LAN w/out the need for signing in; the shared libraries should appear under "shared" in the left sidebar of itunes
think this may resolve the issues you have on #2 as well
#2 - itunes doesnt seem like it's built for that, but if you have any experience, i'd like to hear it. this seems why home sharing is the usually the best route to go and just have one instance of itunes managing the library
but as long as the NAS or any media drives are shared out, connecting to it should not be a problem. it's the writing to the itunes library that's the issue. i haven't used Match so can't help there.
depending on your OS, you can either ctrl-click or option-click on the itunes icon,
which will also give you the option of selecting a library location upon launching itunes
you can navigate to the location of the library file and point it to that.
technically, you could do that but i believe the actual library has to be stored locally
as long as you still have all the media, then you can just rebuild the library
but for locally shared items, as in, all inside the home, i would leave icloud out of the equation
just use itunes sharing and it should be fine

Home sharing on iTunes 9.0 question

I've tried searching for an answer to this and either no one has addressed it or I'm just blind. I know that two computers have to be authorized on a single iTunes account to enable home sharing and that you can copy music from the second computer (which has either been purchased from the iTunes store or ripped from CD) over to the first computer. My question though is what will happen to those copied songs, if the computer where they originated is DEAUTHORIZED? Will the songs no longer be playable?
I'm concerned about this because I've had to swap between hard drives (lap top and desk top) lately and I'm currently using a lap top as my sole computer which is where I keep all my music. I had to get a new hard drive once and also reformat the new one several months later. To transfer my music back and forth I just copied my music folder over to an external hard drive and back again once the new hard drive was ready. The result on my iTunes and music was that many songs were somehow duplicated, every other song wasn't able to be located, songs were lost, some songs that I though I deleted showed back up, etc. After hours and hours though I've fixed all the music and I am once again in harmony, for now. I will be switching back to a desk top (for good) in about a year and I'm afraid of repeating this nonsense again.
I was hoping that I could set up iTunes on the desktop (which will have nothing on it) and authorize it in iTunes, then activate home sharing, then copy the entire library over to the new desk top. This "should" copy all of my music that I REALLY want to the new desk top, and finally keeping all of my music nice and neet. But again, what will happen to the music on the new desk top if I deauthorize the original laptop?

The Turn On Homesharing again - Use the same ID/PW that you use / have used for purchasing songs on every computer

ITunes 7 visualizer causes songs to skip

Hi. Recently installed iTunes 7 and whenever I turn on the iTunes visualizer the song that is playing (or any song) skips badly. I did not have this problem with previous iTunes and updating to 7.0.2 made no difference.

the skipping is happening to me too, which never happend with the older versions of itunes... but for me, i think its that mini istore menu that is on during song play... i cant seem to find how to turn it off...

ITunes 8 visualizer

Besides all the discontent around iTunes 8's failure to 'connect' to remote speakers,
here's another curiosity.
This update now includes the 'visualizer' icon back on the main screen, placed second from the lower right corner.
It looks like a 'flower' shaped icon.
However it is greyed-out, meaning it does not function.
Back a few iTunes ago, you simply could click on it and get the groovy screen happening.
Now, you can still have it as long as you go to 'view' in the drop-down and manipulate it.
Is this oversight another part of the messed-up version of iTunes that has been released?

That is not the visualizer... that is the "Genius" button.
After you configure and turn on the iTune's Genius feature, you can select a song and then click on that button to see what the Genius recommends.

ITunes wants security questions that were never set, recovery email never gets reset email

Ey guys.
I wan to buy a song but iTunes keeps asking me for verification.
It comes up with these random questions and I am unable to answer ten because they don't make any sense.
Fr instance it is asking me what my irate car was.
Well... I havnt had a car yet :(
Anyways I try to reset these questions by using the recovery email but I never get the email confirming the reset.

ITunes library transfer question

Everyone,
I create a Libary on my MacBook Air it has 2000 songs. I want to move this to my Mac Book Pro machine and then Sync it with a new purchased iPod Touch. Can this be done and how. Do I just copy the iTunes Media folder?
I tested this and it copied to my Mac Book Pro by coping the iTunes Media folder at the file level to the Music ITunes folder on my Mac Book Pro held down the option key and selected the library. It opened fine on my Mac Book Pro just fine. Then I decided to test coping it to a device. I have a very old iPod I choose some songs and sync it. Worked fine can listen to the music on the iPod but when I go to iTunes all the music from the iPod is grayed out. I can play it from iTunes. WHY?
Steps that I want to do
1. I create my iTunes library the way I want it on my MacBook Air.
2. I copy it (is there a special way) to my MacBook Pro open iTunes holding down the option key choose this library and it should work where I can play music in iTunes.
My exact question is this.
If I purchase a 32GB iPod Touch can I plug it into my Macbook Pro and Sync it and it will copy the music over will the music from my library play and work on both in iTunes and on the newly pruchase iPod Touch.
I am trying to fine this out before purchasing the iPod Touch.
Are they coming out with new modeled iPod Touches in Oct? Should I wait is my question.

Itune library backup question

OK, I am a novice and still learning. I have an external harddrive and I have backed up my iTunes library to it. Question. Do I need to keep my library on my C drive also??

Have your songs backed up to another drive to have additional copies for safe keeping while you are still running your iTunes library from the files on your computer? If so then you need to keep the originals there. If you actually want to run iTunes from your external drive then you might find these articles useful:
